The weather station is fantastic, being able to monitor weather on my iphone and ipad is great. Construction is solid and installation very straight forward. There are some issues, although minor and manageable – I live in the southern hemisphere and the station is set up for use in America i.e. 1. all the electrical plugs were for the USA, so I needed to buy adapters for Australia 2. the date formats can not be changed from USA format and 3. the wind direction on the weather station is set up for due south were as in the southern hemisphere everything is based on due north, so wind direction is out by 180 degrees. None of these issues can be changed via the settings on the weather station. Overall, very happy with the weather station and would recommend it to others.

I installed this on the corner of my chimney (no longer use the fireplace). I guess it’s about 20 ft up. I can’t speak for the rain gauge, as it’s winter here in Edmonton Alberta. Everything else seems to work except the humidity readings on the outside unit. Sometimes is pretty close to the official weather station that’s about 3km from my house and my other analog gauges. Other times, forget it. Sometimes, my other meters are reading 75% in close agreement and this thing is reading 98%. It doesn’t matter…I’m not climbing back up there to take it down and return it for that. I mainly wanted it for outside temperature, barometer, and wind speed anyway. It seems other reviewers around the net are having these fail in 2 to 3 years. I figured for the money, if they last that long, it’s worth it. Just don’t expect it to last 10 year. It won’t from what everyone else has said about them.

Everything arrived as promised and on schedule. Easy setup and syncing took no time at all. App works and the internet set up was a bit confusing getting onto Wunderground, but within 30 minutes was online broadcasting my readings. The in-house display even on the lowest setting of 30% is still very bright. There are only three levels, 100 – 60 – 30%.
Comparing data to other gauges around, the unit is matching them to my liking.
Good value for the price and a big upgrade from my older unit that lasted 10 years.

The AcuRite Access part of the kit did not work properly when connected to a PC. Gave a Malfunctioning USB device error. Tried it on 2 PC, both had the same error. The “”AcuRite Access” feature was the main reason I got this particular kit and am disappointed that it does not work.
The weather station and display work as expected.
The “dashboard” charts on the online app also not working. Just displayed “No chart data available.” all the time

I purchased a weather station and accompanying hub from Acurite. When the product works, it’s great. But my inbox is flooded with emails saying that the Acurite lost signal (It hasn’t). But everything is working ok, and less than a year later, I get an email from Acurite saying that as they’ve been telling me for the last year (I received no such email in the past), they’re no longer supporting their own hub that I purchased, and my hub will stop working in 1 week. WHAT?

But because I’ve been a “loyal customer’ I get a 20% discount at their store. Well, I’m not going to tear down what I’ve spent so much time, money and energy putting up, so I try to buy their new hub. Discount is less than 20%.

I try to contact their support but alas, their number doesn’t appear on their website and their live chat is down “due to heavy demand”. Yeah, you pull the rug from under your customers and sure, I can betcha your support personnel will be overwhelmed.

So here I am, forced to re-buy hardware that I’ve already purchased from them, and at a discount that they are mis-representing.

Folks, stay away from this company. I fear they’re not really customer-centric and really don’t care much.

No one should be under any illusions that the physical installation of the Acurite 5 in 1 can be a challenge. The device must be securely and safely mounted high enough to enable the wind meter to be accurate and the other sensors to be unaffected by the house itself. I already owned two six foot lengths of 1″ steel pipe and mounting bracket I decided to use that. It took some finagling to adapt the 1″ pipe to the provided adapter’.
I had purchased the remote battery pack since I knew that once aloft I did not want to go through the hassle of lowering the masts every time the battery wore out. Since I live in NH, I followed the advice and order the lithium batteries so that would not freeze.
I wisely decided to get the unit operating to be sure I wouldn’t have to pull the unit down to solve some problem. I was amazed how quickly the unit appeared to connect with the display – five minutes for everything to appear.
I think it is important to have the 5 in 1 working before bring the display up.
Next, I brought the remote Access unit online and again was amazed how quickly the unit acquired the roof top device. Since we had not had rain in six weeks, I didn’t realize I was going to have problem with the rain gauge.
However, I went ahead and extend the pipes and wrap the provided tie-wraps, cleaned and went inside to download the myacurite.com app and was again amazed to see the device come up!
Finally we got some rain and discovered that while the rain gauge was communicated with the display device it was not communicated through Access with myacurite.com. I went through the debug process suggested with the Access device but no luck.
After waiting a week in case it started working, I contacted service through the website through email form. I received an instant acknowledge of my submission and received a human response within an hour or so. After a couple of emails I discovered that somehow a “phantom device” had intruded into myacurite.com and when I selected the correct device, the rain gauge started being picked up within a few minutes!
I don’t often write reviews but felt that when a company makes a complicated set of products that works out of the box and when I have a problem I receive a service response within an, I am impressed and wanted potential buyers to know. I would be happy to answer any questions.

If you are looking for a 4 in one guage this product would be alright, but in 7 months the bearing in the wind gauge started making noise and soon wouldn’t turn at under about 15 mph. when I called support they told me to spray the bearing with WD 40, their manual advised graphite. now (less than a year) the bearing has all but seized up. There is apparently no other support from the manufacturer. From feedback I have read it is obvious that the manufacturer knows that there bearing is a problem. If you are interested in Wind Speed DO NOT purchase this product.

nice to have local weather info at home and on I phone, temp. works good
neg. monitor doesn’t keep accurate rain volume ( the wind can cause flapper to record rain )
neg. need to buy extra battery equipment. so you don’t have to go onto roof to change batteries.

The company selling this product was right on absolutely no complaints it got it to me and great time I would rate them five stars. However The morons at Acurite are unbelievable! The reason I ordered the unit was because my other one failed after two years it started reading 150° and 50° below zero everything just started to malfunction. These idiots have decided to shut off their phones and everything is online including Q&A with tech support it is absolute crap I’ve got issues with the unit linking it to my phone. I use it my ranch to oversee my Orchards and it’s critical that it works correctly. I am returning it at not at the fault of the guys fulfilling it but the manufacturers are idiots for shutting down their tech support. There are nothing but negative complaints all over the Internet that nobody can get a hold of them and there is no intelligent life form at the other end of the terminal. I’ve emailed them three times with no response to my questions. Or when you queue in the question it can’t recognize what you are asking for. I haven’t been this frustrated ever. I have not written a review like this so negative but these guys need to reevaluate their position in the industry because I’m going somewhere else and it looks like a lot of other people are doing the same. Don’t buy Acurite there’s no tech support.
