It’s great not only as a UV filter but it protection for your lens. That’s saved me more than once!

The previous filter was damaged while bouncing around the Serengeti but it did help to protect a very expensive Tamron lens. Getting a replacement from B&H was quick and easy.

This and other HOYA filters have been my favorite in terms of quality and value. Whether new or used from the B&H Used Department you’ll be happy with this filter. Yes, there are some very expensive high end filters out there and I’m sure they’re worth every penny to those who use them. However, as a long-time amateur photographer, the HOYA brand has always performed well for me. Beware of some budget filters which may induce artifacts into your image. I witnessed this once and saw the artifact vanish when I put this HOYA on.
