Used this on my 2000 Monte Carlo SS. Easy to install and it works great!

Old 2002 Impala – gas gauge stopped working. Dealer wanted $800 to drop the tank and replace the pump. U-tube video showed an access plate in the trunk and how to replace without dropping the tank. $150 is better than $800, so I gave it a go. The part itself is an exact replacement – meaning, some pumps have reconfigured the electrical connections. This pump does not do that – so you can just plug it in. The apparent downside to this is that the electrical connections have been known to fail – there’s a write up with the pump that tells you to look for signs of over-heating. Mine looked fine. It also comes with a new gasket. The hardest part of the entire job was removing the back seat to get better access. Once that was done – pretty straightforward job. Remove plate; disconnect electrical connections; disconnect fuel lines; pull out pump; reverse – oh yeah – vacuum, vacuum, vacuum – you do not want any of the years of dirt getting into the fuel tank. About an hour later, pump was installed and working great. Best yet…$650 in my pocket.

My mechanic wanted me 399.99 for this Bosch fuel pump and another 350.00 to install It. Holy crap I installed it in less than an hour through an access panel in the trunk, he insisted the tank had to be dropped. I asked why, to clean the tank? He said, no to get at the pump! This is a beater 2000 Monte Carlo SS with 250,000 miles on it, I would not pay 750.00 for a fuel pump, my gosh!

I just saved 600.00 and 2 days without a car. I was confused when my mechanic told me the part was 399.99 when I already knew it was only 129.99 to 191.00 here on amazon! The same exact brand and part number! The Delphi American made unit is about 389.00, but the install should never be more than 135.00, even when I looked it up in the mechanics labor guide. SO where 300.00 labor comes from I just don’t understand. I don’t think I could ever go back to him now, what a shame. I mean an hours time for 350.00 and a 250.00 mark up on the part! Pump went in, car started, done!

Pump still works amazing after a month and a half of having it installed in my car.
The only issue I ran into while installing it was that the black rubber gasket seal was too thick for the opening of the tank that it wouldn’t sit correctly thus having to use the rubber gasket seal off the old fuel pump.
Everything else in terms of wiring connected without an issue and it’s great to have a working gas gauge after 2 years of the needle being either stuck on empty or going just past half full and slowly going back to empty again.
Great company, great pump, great price! Buy this pump because you’ll know you’re getting a quality made pump and not like alot of those cheap $100 pumps you see on Amazon…Bosch all the way!!! Thank you. 🙂

There is a comparable $40 pump listed on Amazon that appears to be too good to be true. Trust me, it is. That junk lasted less than a month. Buy THIS one for your tank and do the job once! You’ll be thankful you spent the extra money!!

This was for my 2000 Impala LS at 319235 miles. Everything came as promised, including matching connections. Along with the enclosed instructions, I followed advice from a couple youtube videos and the work was easy from the backseat. Be sure the area is clear of dirt/debris. I vacuumed beforehand, but after removing the cover, I needed to vacuum again. As I lifted the old unit out and tipped it to drain any fuel, even more dirt fell off the top of the unit onto the floor. Vacuumed again. The shop quote was $540 with labor, I year warranty. It took me an hour at a slow, methodical pace. Savings=$392.22

I have a 2001 impala 3.8 police package car that was getting the typical gas gauge issue. Gauge would show full no matter how much fuel is in. This always starts out that the fuel will go about half way then start to go back to full instead of empty then it stays at full after a period of time. This pump went in fine and fixed the issue. Car feels a little more responsive as well. Instructions could be better for someone who has not done this before but luckily I have.

For my 2003 Blazer Xtreme. Gauge takes longer to register gas use, as the float art is shorter than the original. I could have swapped it, but was too lazy. All of the pumps that show they work for my vehicle had the wrong wiring harness. This one fits and works.

Plugged in and worked well. I had to use the OEM seal on the pump rather than the one bosch supplied as it was enough thicker that the lock ring would not turn a bit. Buick started right up and 500 mi later is working well.

this lasted just a few months and float contacts have worn so much one does not make contact, I think because the float wobbled in the pivot and wore the contact out. Terrible since I refused to buy a cheaper one. Beware of this one
