I have been using the iPad Pro as my personal computer for a little less than a month, and in my opinion this is the best iPad line Apple offers. However, I also feel, including myself, do not need the full capability of an iPad Pro. After using the device I have come to the conclusion that my needs would be satisfied with just the basic iPad 8th Generation.
However why I chose the iPad Pro 11inch is because of value, and I will tell you why. So most big purchases like this one, I formulate a cost to satisfaction ratio. If the satisfaction out weighs the cost, then I know i have made the right purchase for me. However, based on what this iPad can do and what I need it to do, I have devised that I will be returning this iPad.
From using the iPad, there is nothing wrong with it. However, my personal needs include light photo editing, occasional cloud gaming, web surfing, media consumption, some typing, and that’s about it. I am not a professional photographer, I work in sales and I have an MBA M1 that i complete my workflow on. In regards to my personal workflow, this iPad runs circles which is more than what my needs are.
I would recommend this device for someone who is going to use this device as their sole device. I also recommend this iPad for someone who edits photos/video’s with multiple layers and does this type of work daily. Last I would recommend this device for someone who needs a device to cloud connect to their base computer while on the go. I would also recommend that if you are going to use this device as your laptop replacement, that you purchase the Magic Keyboard.

The battery on my iPad Air 2 is dying (it has to be constantly plugged in to work) so I figured now would be a good time to replace it with something newer.
What do I use my iPad for:
– I like to take it with me to Starbucks or other cafes that I sit at
– I take it with me when I travel for extended times
– I mainly use it casually: streaming videos, browsing the internet, interacting on social media, some light gaming, and word processing (I don’t really use FaceTime or any video calls on it)
I picked up the iPad Air 4 and the iPad Pro 2021 11 inch to compare and I still went with the iPad Pro 2021 11 inch even though the iPad Air 4 would be more than enough for me. Honestly, just the plain, regular, iPad would be enough for those needs.
So why go with something hundreds of dollars more? There’s a few reasons.
1) I wanted to future proof my iPad. I got the iPad Air 2 when it came out in 2017 and have been using it sense. With the iPad Pro using the M1 chip, it’s basically has the innards of a Apple laptop/desktop, just in tablet form. It will likely be compatible with any new tech Apple comes out with and utilities any new iOS updates to their fullest extent.
2) I’m also looking for something to replace my laptop which is over a decade old. The iPad Pro with a keyboard case and some other accessories could potentially fill that gap. The only thing really stopping it for me is I can’t run a full blown Windows OS on it (like I can if I get a surface). But depending on what’s instore for iOS, maybe I won’t have as urgent a need to replace my laptop.
3) I like fast. I know, I know, it’s silly if all I’m going to be doing is streaming and browsing the internet on it but launching Civ 6 at the same time on the iPad Air 4 and seeing that the iPad Pro is a second faster is still nice lol
What this really boils down to is potential. The iPad Pro with that M1 chip has more potential than the iPad Air 4. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next iPad Air has the M1 chip or something better in it, but I’m looking for a replacement right now, especially with things starting to open back up and I can start dining in at Starbucks and cafes.

Surprisingly, I never knew that the iPad Pro is going to be that good for a futuristic tablet. This year, Apple have finally step up their when they’re going to add M1 to iPad. For my perspective, I thought this tablet would have issues with performance or any other that need to be improve. Overall, I think the iPad Pro is a professional tablet would probably be a laptop replacement. But likely. If anyone is considering a tablet, whether high productivity or content and working on office, I highly recommend this tablet for 2021.

“It’s amazing” my daughter said. She got the iPad Pro 11” for her birthday and is already marking beautiful artwork. We wanted an iPad that would last and the M1 processor will make this a future proof tablet for years to come. This is the perfect iPad for schoolwork, personal, having fun and creativity. I highly recommend the apple pen 2. Will add a keyboard case later to compete the setup.

If you need a quality tablet there is no real alternative to the iPad. Yes, there are Samsung Galaxy Tab line and those devices are great, Samsung does really awesome job from the hardware perspective, but Android is just not good for tablets.
I tried Galaxy Tab S7 for a week and although I loved the hardware part (gorgeous body, amazing screen, very light) I just can’t get used to it. Mainly because I wanted to use a pen. It is included with the tablet, which is great. But. Compared to iPad + Apple pencil it is, unfortunately, a subpar experience. I enjoyed drawing on my son’s iPad 8th gen ($280 + $99 pencil) more than on the $550 Galaxy Tab S7.
As a result, I returned Tab S7 and went up to this new iPad Pro 11. Purchased open-box Apple Pencil 2 as well, together with a Smartfolio keyboard. Yes, all in all, it is around 2 times more $, but spending less money on something you don’t enjoy using is a waste of money while spending more on something you like is a good investment, I think.
I’m very happy with this 11-inch version. I tried my friend’s new iPad 12.9 before and was thinking about purchasing it because of the mini-LED screen, but even though it can go brighter and it is noticeable when watching some movies it is not noticeable 90% of the time. Yes, it could be critical for some creators who work with HDR content (probably 1-2% of all iPad Pro users) but for majority of users, including myself, it is a nice to have. And it is just too big for me, as a laptop replacement maybe, but I already own a MacBook, so.
It is plenty fast and I believe I won’t need to replace it for at least another 3-4 years
