The brushed/satin nickel finish & design are very nice. Seems sturdy enough. The plastic lever for sliding it open/close works really easily & smoothly (compared to some metal ones that can be heavy, take more force, & can corrode). I was a bit worried about the vent cut-out design being so open, but on the underside is a plastic grid that would likely catch many/most things if they unluckily fell through. I bought 2 of these, & am happy. Recommend!

I only ordered two because I thought that at this price point, these grates had to be plastic junk. Boy was I wrong! They are gorgeous, heavy-gauge metal. The interior louver mechanism is made of plastic, but they work smoothly. They are a great improvement over the beat-up old grates we had. The grates fit perfectly. (But, be sure to measure your opening, not your existing grates, to order the proper size.) The grates seem sturdy. I actually stood on them to get them to fit snugly into the opening–no problems. Anyway, I will soon be ordering another dozen or so to replace all the grates throughout the house.

I’m redoing my bathroom, and our finishes will be chrome. I thought it would be really cool to have a modern chrome vent cover since my register is in the middle of the floor. It is very sturdy and will fit perfectly. Love, love, love! Also you can open & close the vent by using a plastic tab. Much more comfortable using that to adjust the open/ close position than the standard metal ones. I’ll definitely be buying more for other places in my house.

Not for use in bathrooms – looks nice, but rusted way too soon – wish they’d disclosed that.

Look much nicer than the normal grills, the only downside is that they are shallower than the previous ones so move about a little but a bit of double sided tape worked.

We have just bought (and are in the process of renovating) a lovely 1930s house. The design of these suits perfectly. We have three boarded up chimneys, each with a rather nasty brass plate of ventilation ‘slots’: rather than use these as floor registers, therefore, we hoped to be able to use them as chimney ventilation grills. Happily, the builders were able to do the necessary work without fuss or drama. Result: something that looks really classy whilst doing a very humdrum job for us! Just a shame the builders haven’t quite finished with all the other stuff they’re doing in that room!
I would have taken a star off for the packaging. I bought two of these and they arrived in a sort-of trapezoidal cardboard package within which there was nothing to stop one or more of the registers falling straight through. And evidently, that’s precisely what had happened because I soon worked out that the package only contained one register. A call to Amazon resulted in an offer to refund 30% of the purchase price (despite 50% of the goods never having made it!), or a complete replacement order -which required me to return the one register that *had* arrived, causing the builders a day of delay.
I decided not to deduct that star, however, because the replacement order arrived a day or two later with the same trapezoidal packaging, but correctly sealed top and bottom -so both registers arrived fine. I therefore placed a further order for a third register -and it arrived packaged correctly, too. So, whilst I was annoyed by the original packaging, it appears to have been an aberration -and it would be unfair to mark the product itself, which is excellent, for a one-off mishap with the packaging.
Short version, therefore: excellent product, looks classy, good price.

Good quality, look great in the wall as an interior vent as well as in the floor. Solid and classy.

I was excited to find this Art Deco design. The product is very well made and drops right in place. Talk about simple installation… I was impressed by the quality of the product itself. It is nice and heavy – not made out of tin. The cuts are precise and it is finished very well with no sharp edges. The vent mechanism is easy to open and close and does not restrict too much of the airflow. After seeing the actual product, I was surprised by the low price. Overall, I am very impressed with this product and would highly recommend to my friends and family.

It’s extremely poor quality at a high price. The plastic and metal parts are barely connected and will likely break apart soon. The actual design is nothing but sharp edges, my daughter cut her foot when she accidentally stepped on it. And i almost cut my finger when trying to flip the tab to open the vent. It’s LOUD, even with the vent fully open. The airflow is loud and it makes an obnoxious whistling noise. All in all I’m not satisfied with this product at all. Only purchased it because our 20 year old one finally broke and I needed something quickly. I will be making a run later this week to the hardware store to pick up a $3 all metal one that is MUCH better quality.

Replacing floor registers is such an inexpensive upgrade that make a large, expensive-looking impact in a space! The stylish art deco effect goes well and makes for an attractive conversation piece.
The outer register is a heavy, brushed metal. The articulating venting is made of a significantly inferior plastic and the vents only open in one direction (from side to side). You cannot direct airflow away from a wall with these registers, but rather only adjust the amount of space through which air will pass. For the price, however, they look absolutely exquisite and do their job.

This is really beautiful. Sturdy, just drops in the hole in the floor. It does have vents you can open and close. The lever is almost invisible. Much nicer than the picture and well worth the cost. If it were cheaper I’d probably replace all my vents. At $12.00 with the workmanship and quality it is well worth the price If my “scooter” roomba vacuum had not eaten the one this is replacing I probably would not have bought this one. Because of the multi directional lines he glide right over this with ease. I was a bit concerned he may pick this up since there are no screws to attach to the floor. None are needed. It remains firmly in place when he runs over it, or I walk on it. There are no rough edges etc. It is perfectly level so it sits flat with out any gaps. the vent adjustment lever is a bit tricky to adjust with your foot I usually do it with my hand anyway. I will definitely be looking to replace a few more of these that are in unsightly places

This is a very classy item.
Art Deco in style gives an authentic accent to the overall themed room.
It’s not just for floor vents. I used it for the boiler cupboard door. It’s actually very light and can be fixed by an internal frame screw point or sealant mastic around the inner frame edge. The frame also has a small vent opening leaver.
All in all very good.
