Fantastic Grate much heavier weight than the other ones we were looking at on Amazon. Look at the shipping weight to give you an idea of quality. This is in a loation in our dining room where chairs will sit on top. This will not dent like our other grate. Very happy with the purchase.

My old vents were flimsy metal from Home Depot I’m guessing and they bothered me for years. Looked like hell and were stood on so they bowed and were awful. At the hardware stores all the vents are cheap and flimsy and I knew I needed something really sturdy. I read the reviews and thought I’d try it. The vents came today and I’m really happy as they are everything everyone said about them and more. In my bathroom the vent is located where I stand sometimes and that vent was really beat up. This vent I can stand on it and its like standing on a step stool, totally solid and sturdy. This will last for years I’m sure.

First: The shine depicted in the photo is deceptive: I would describe the shine as an attractive soft glow. The color is an attractive neutral: It plays well with my sand color carpets but would do so as well with grey and other colors.
Second: The reported problem with the open/close button: It is true that at first I found it very difficult to use. Then I discovered if I pressed the button toward the outer edge of the register, it worked fine. After doing that a few times, I pressed it firmly toward the outer edge and it stayed that way, moving sufficiently easily.
Upshot: I had ordered one to try it out and then got three more. I am very happy with the product.

Painters destroyed my “stained to match” wooden floor register (broke wooden slats). Ordered this as a replacement. The oil rubbed bronze works well w/ my medium dark wood floors. Seems sturdy. My original 1970s metal registers in other areas are better designed (lip is flatter at edges & there’s a thicker bar across the middle) but I couldn’t find the same with a metal under-carriage.
Would buy again.

This metal floor register is very durable. For example the original wood register cracked when someone scooted their chair on top of the wooden one, sat on the chair, which cracked the wooden register. no problem with this metal beauty. It is 16 inches long which is very hard to find. The only thing that I can say negative about this beauty is the price @ $40+ Other than that, it is well worth it.

Initially I was worried when the estimated delivery was ~2 weeks. I was pleasantly surprised when my 6 bronze vents arrived 2 days after ordering! The bronze vents are very solid so there shouldn’t be any issue with foot traffic or even chair legs on them. I was able to install all 6 in less than 10 minutes. These were a bit more expensive than other, cheaper brands but I’m hoping this will pay off in the long run.

I ordered one just to see if I would like it. I have to say it is very sturdy, there is nothing flimsy about this vent cover. It is also heavy, so you know it will stay in place. I was going to return it because the lever to close the vent is almost impossible to move, you pretty much have to close and open by handling the actual louvre. After reading about closing the vents,I decided I won’t be doing that anyway so it doesn’t matter that I can’t close it without manually closing the vent so I decided to keep it. It looks great compared to the previous one I had that was a thin metal and had started rusting. I’m not sure if all of them will be that difficult to open and close but if you are not going to close the vent they are definitely worth the money!

This product came w/o instructions. So, fine, now I have to waste time looking up YouTube videos. After attaching the mounting clips it was a struggle to attach to my vent and once mounted, was crooked and didn’t cover the opening properly. Now I have a vent ‘cover’ that sticks out from the wall and doesn’t actually cover the vent cut out.
Maybe if the vent/cut out were perfect it would work better, but in my case, it is awful.
