We bought this decorative floor grate to produce airflow to the fire,not only does it look good but it works perfect and makes the fire flow super efficiently, would highly recommend to anyone, looks really good, works really well, excellent price and very speedy delivery. 👍

We recently bought a 25 year old house that still has the builder-spec, original, dirty, damaged register covers. At this point, anything is an upgrade. I chose this cover to coordinate with the fireplace screen in my living room. They look nice without drawing attention.
The openings in the metal are large, but the plastic grate underneath has smaller openings and will catch thing that accidentally fall in. I would not suggest this for a room where children might be tempted to put things down the vent.
Some of my floor vents are cut into the underfloor at an odd angle, so I am glad it is possible (though not easy) to separate the plastic grate from the metal plate when necessary… to achieve the proper aesthetic.

Have an old mobile as a vacation home. The old floor registers – over fifty years old – were very heavy duty, but rusted and disgusting. Bought one of these, initially, because I wasn’t sure that it would fit in the same register hole or that I would be happy with the quality, as they are not expensive. It not only fits, but looks great. I bought 3 more this season to replace the remaining registers and could not be happier with the result. Such a simple change-out has made such a difference in the appearance of my place! These are great. The original one that I bought looks as good as new after one year. Very glad I found these registers and tried them instead of trying to repaint the old rusted ones. Note that they do have louvers that open and close. (I keep mine closed since the floor vents are no longer hooked up to a furnace.)

I’m really pleased with how these grates look in our house! We recently put in new floors and didn’t want to reuse the same decades-old slotted generic grates that were paint-chipped and dented. These have a classic design and offer sturdy construction at an affordable price… perfect for our upgrade.
The surface is the only portion of the grate that is metal; the rest is black plastic. The metal isn’t very thick, so you’ll want to make sure these are going in a location where it’s unlikely anyone will try to walk on them (or put a chair-leg on them). The damper switch is easy to move, but it’s basically an on-and-off… there’s not a lot of room for it to be adjustable (and if you did barely open the little windows, I imagine they’d whistle quite a bit). Also, while the tab to control the open/close is recessed, it’s not all the way below the grate’s surface. So another trade-off is that while it’s easy to access, I fear breaking it off every time I run the vacuum.
All in all, I’m happy to give these grates a 5-star review based on a combination of price/value, appearance, function, and the compliments we’ve received from visitors.

These are really nice looking when you first get them. However, if exposed to moisture (as in a bathroom) they rust quickly and easily. The worst part for us has been the open/shut slide. We bought in 2-3 lots for the house. One out of every four we originally bought had that piece break off. Again, these are very pretty but I wouldn’t suggest for areas with moisture or a lot of traffic.

At first I was concerned because the picture is not what it is. I would have rather had a real pic then the doctored one in the description. I took the gamble anyway and this one paid off. I have Pergo applewood flooring and was trying to find something to match. I don;t know if I could have found one better. They are metal but the insides are plastic. It is easy to open and close the vents with the small slider on the top. They went right in place of the other ones I had with no modifications. Please see the pics below for a better idea of the actual color.

I knew something was going to be off when I saw the price and figured they are on sale for a reason. Sure enough, the moment they arrived, it all became clear.
1) Unlike Louvre based registers, this one has a grate you slide back and forth to open or close. This robs you from a lot of air flow (50%, by default) compared to others. You WILL hear the air noise from them when your furnace is on indicating air restrictions. It’s a fatal design flaw.
2) The tab used to move the grate back and forth sticks up 1/4″ past the face of the grate so if you step on it, you will likely break the plastic mechanism. In our day and age, why on earth would anyone make such design?
3) The plastic mechanism is too flimsy and slides back and forth at the slightest touch. So you will likely close or open it inadvertently when you walk on it. There should have been some friction in it so it stays in the open or closed position.
For all the above reasons, I recommend you look elsewhere.

These were bought when we had plans for a boarder to the room, but that was changed to a plainer finish so they stand out more although they are located in the corners clear of joists.
The only issue we had was the small clearance around the edges of the filter moulding that made accuracy in the hole for the filters quite important.

I’ve never lived in a manufactured home before so owning this one has a LOT of learning.
The floor registers throughout the house were in awful condition, multiple colors, some would open and close, some would not. So I thought it was time to replace them to get a consistent look.
These look very nice and the construction is good. The top material is metal and that makes it sturdier and safe to walk on. The mechanism and box underneath is plastic, but works well and is protected by the top layer.
The downside is that I live in Florida and we are known for heat and humidity. Because of this the A/C runs a lot and moisture builds up on the surface (metal) and some of them have started to rust a bit. The rust is minor at this point, so I’ll keep an eye on it. I didn’t consider this as a possibility before ordering but I’ll have to look to alternatives when it comes time to refresh these. (I have only had these about 3 months so it is a bit disappointing.)

I love the look of these grates. My husband does not like the air flow on them (not sufficient) even when adjusted on full. I have noticed now on the ones in areas where they might get occasionally wet (like the bathroom) that they are starting to get rust spots. We have only had them for a few months in those areas so I am disappointed.
Update: I am now going replace all of these register covers in my house. One of them toke off a chunk of my daughter’s foot. I would not recommended these at all.

The grill looks great. You do need to have a hole which is at least 4″ by 10″ to accept the black plastic molding (or be prepared to do some mild engineering) but the important piece is the decorative plate which really does look good. Only been in place for 1 day so I can not comment on “rusting” as some others have done. On first appearance, this is a good product – it is just a shame I don’t live in the US where prices are significantly cheaper.
