This works for handling my coffee beans and the handle is good for carrying On one of the units a flap cracked partially, and I keep one hand under the bin in case the lid comes off. So far it has not, and the other 3 units did not fail at the flaps. As one keeps snapping them on, it is possible the plastic might get weak at the flex line, so that may become a drawback. For now all 4 are still working
I got bitten by the issue where the container isn’t even watertight because there was a cardboard label pinched in the lid when it arrived. I had hoped that’d be rectified by now, but… no.
Also, the container is somewhat tapered so the listed dimensions aren’t really correct. The listing says it’s 10.2 x 8.5 x 9.1 inches. The top dimension is 10 x 8.5 inches, but the bottom is 9 x 7.375 inches. It is 9.1 inches tall as listed. If you measure on the inside, the top is only 9.25 x 7.75 inches. The bottom is smaller still. This is kind of important if, say, you’re trying to store something that is 8 inches square inside – the dimensions SOUND like that’ll work, but in reality you can’t even fit it inside.
Altogether a pretty big fail. Returning.

(In the pictures you can see how big it is compared to a 1 gallon vinegar container and a large glass vase of flowers. I also laid a napkin on top to show that when the handle is down, it is very flat.)
We buy & use lots of sugar. I usually buy in the 10lb bag. Then it sits in the cabinet rolled up, open to the humidity in the air or any bugs (ew). When you take it out and unroll it, sugar gets everywhere. I was done!
SIZE- It holds a lot. It was 1/4 of the way full, I dumped in a 10lb bag of granulated sugar, and still had plenty of room to throw a 1 cup measuring cup in there and have extra room! I would guestimate that it holds 15lbs comfortably. Perfect. So when I start getting low, I buy a 10lb bag and dump it into whatever is left in the container.
SEAL- It has a rubber gasket and four locking tabs. I’ve used this type of container for years and love them. They keep out bugs, air/humidity, and keep my things fresh for years. They are easy to get in and out of and I don’t even want to try a different type. I thought of getting a large jar with a screw on lid and I’m so very glad I didn’t! Click, click, click with one hand and it’s open-fast and easy!
DURABILITY- I was really worried about the amount of weight I would be putting in this container and then lifting it by a handle….The container itself, feels a little flimsier than my other containers. That being said, the handle feels firm and it (along with the lid), is made of a thicker plastic. So, after a few tentative lifts, I feel confident that it will hold up. *I will update if I have ANY problems in the future.
VALUE- $17 for a container! I know…it was hard for me to justify this…Here’s how I look at it: *This is a 10 year or more investment. *This will save me from throwing out hardened or bug-infested sugar and wasting money. *This will deter bugs from my pantry since there’s no food available to entice them in the first place. *This saves countless time spent cleaning up messes from bags being used. *This saves time of easily grabbing it, accessing, and measuring the sugar when I’m cooking. *This allows me to clearly see how much sugar I have (so I know when to shop) and the condition it’s in (ie no bugs-I worry lol). *This makes my pantry cleaner and more organized-it really looks awesome!
I’ve slowly, but surely (over the years) switched most of my pantry items to these clear snap lid containers. Some I’ve had for 15yrs. I plan on purchasing another one for my all purpose flour. I highly recommend this product!

Works well for large volumes of flour, rice, sugar, and pet foods. Only problem we have experienced is the plastic snap tabs tend to break! We received a large order of these and two of them came cracked, right out of the box. We contacted amazon and replacements were sent. The new ones broke in a manner of days (when I say broke I should point out they are still useable, but they are cracked. If you got really aggressive you could break it right off). Then we contacted Snapware customer service and they sent us out two new ones (no need to send back the others) and those broke shortly after receiving them too.
Basically, if you open and close it every day, the tabs will crack/break but it is still useable and a large, cheap storage solution.

I bought this container because I really needed a better way to store/use my 10-lb bags of flour during the upcoming baking marathon (especially considering that nearly all bags of flour I ordered have arrived with some tears that kept “spitting” the flour out every time you touched the bag). I have many really large glass jars, but while they might work for storage (they do), they are certainly not convenient for “usage” due to their shape, and I wanted a wide container with straight walls. I was so happy when I found this one and it didn’t disappoint — it is everything I wanted it to be. I’m posting a picture so that you can see how easily it houses 10 lbs of flour. The handle on the lid is a fantastic addition. Of course, I washed and dried it before placing the flour there.
Honestly, I don’t know what took me so long — I should have found it years ago, especially considering how much baking I do. Finally, measuring flour is not going to be accompanied by the annoying little “flour spills” everywhere.

The plastic smell is awful. I cannot get rid of it no matter what I do. I wish I would have not bought this. I cannot put flour in it because it makes the flour stink so bad it is unusable. I would not recommend this container!

I love the size a lot and if you fill it to the brim it can fit 5 cups, vs the 4.5 advertised which is great. The one place I know it’s going to fail me is the plastic quality. It’s a LOT thinner than any other snapware pieces I have so I don’t hold much hope for the longevity of these pieces. Especially compared to the rest of my stuff that I’ve had for years now, or the other recent pieces I’ve gotten that do have the thicker plastic.

Originally I had T-Ware but, after 10 years, they began to loose their air-tightness. Add in worsening arthritis, and they began to become very difficult to open. After the T-Ware, I cleverly moved to glass canning jars. I’ve used those for about 5 years now but, dang, they began to get heavier and heavier. The need for a lighter-weight, easy to open canister-ish container was born. I’ve been poking and trying out the latches and tops of various “food storage” containers but the ones that I’ve liked have all been too expensive to consider setting up a whole system with. One one of my forays through Amazon, these popped up on my screen. I had a couple of latched containers and liked them but wasn’t able to locate any large enough to use as canisters. The price on these was in the affordable arena so I decided to give one a try.
The first container arrived and I poked it and prodded at it. I put it through the dishwasher and poked it a couple more times. Decided that I trusted it enough to put flour in it so I dumped a new bag of all-purpose flour in there before I remembered that I still had some in one of the glass canning jars. According to the T-Ware system, 21 cups will hold a 5 lb bag. 23 cups isn’t much bigger so I was a bit nervous about dumping the remaining flour on top of what was already in the new container but did it anyway. Not only did it take all of the flour, it also took the scoop. Very nice.
Yes, there are about 6 lbs of flour all total in the 23 cup container but dang if it doesn’t feel a whole lot lighter than the canning jar.
My only complaint: because of the shape, there’s really no where to grab with just one hand so lifting these is a job for two hands. With a bit of rearranging of my kitchen cabinet, I can deal with that.
