I was really excited to receive these noise cancelling headphones! I was familiar with Skullcandy so expected great things. Overall I was not disappointed.
    The good:
Packaging – the package is well put together (see pictures)! You will open the box and find a nice case. Open the case and you will find the headphones, AUX cord, manual and USB cord. The case is very solid and will protect these babies well!
Set up – the Venue came charged to 60% so they were ready to go. I easily paired them to my Android 8 phone to test them out. They worked fine out of the box. So I then put them on the charger. They charged to 100% in no time. After an hour of use they are still registering a 100% charge!
Sound – I find the sound nicely balanced. I find them a little on the bass side. Not thumping. The bass is crisp. There is no way to adjust the sound via EQ. I tried music, video and phone calling. You can also connect via an AUX cord. I tried the AUX cord and the sound was excellent!
Noise cancelling – The noise cancelling works well as you would expect. You can turn it on or off. I did notice a difference between it on or off.
Phone calls – the sound was crystal clear. The microphone works well. There were no issues receiving and carrying on a conversation. The caller could hear me perfectly. I can hear the caller perfectly. One tap of the right button and the call is answered.
Pairing – pairing was quick with an Android 8 phone, Android tablet and Windows 10 laptop. I tested the distance it would lose the connection and it was similar to other devices I have.
Control – there are many options for controlling the headphones and the device(s) connected to it. The capabilities are different if you are connected via Bluetooth or AUX cord. You can control using Bluetooth: power, pairing, volume, play/pause, track forward/back, answer/end phone calls, activate voice assistant, active noise cancelling on/off, check battery, monitor mode on/off (silences the sound so you can hear other sounds) and pair the Tile.
Tile integration – you spent some cash on these. Having Tile built in is an excellent add-on. I downloaded the Tile app and followed the instructions. It was very simple. I then tested the app and it worked great. One less reason to lose these.
    Things that could be better:
Comfort – I was concerned when I first put them on. These were tight at first. I found the more you spread the band apart, the tighter the headphones are and the more they press on your ears. Initially I had the band too far apart and it was uncomfortable after 15 minutes. I then closed the headband as tight as it goes and these are WAY more comfortable! The ear cushions are thick and very soft. These could be more comfortable. I think these will get more comfortable but do not know for sure right now.
No APP – not a big deal but there seems to be an APP for near everything these days. I would be interested in an EQ to fine tune the sound.
    Conclusion:
I really like the sound and versatility. The Tile integration is an added value. The only thing preventing me from rating these 5 stars is the comfort. Initially I was concerned. The more I wear them the better it is getting. However, overall they are tight so far. But I guess noise cancelling headphones need to be tight.

This is my second pair of Skullcandy headphones. This is the second pair that have had the plastics break in the hinge. This is unfortunate, because the battery life is great. Sound is great… they simply do not last more than 6 months due to poor plastic quality.

Great headphones. They sound great, but the noise-cancelling has a bit of background noise, but well worth it in a noisy environment. Kudos to Skull Candy in making a top-notch wireless headphone for chump-change compared to the other “hoity-toity” prestigious brands. Skull Candy kicks them to the curb in overall value.
My main complaint is physical durability: I have had to break out the “KB Weld” epoxy to repair their flimsy attachments of the top-of-the-head padded cushions where the cushion started separating from the over-the-head bar (see photo). A little epoxy and they are fine. Their sound quality and ease of use makes me overlook that cheapness ding in their manufacture. Not a show-stopper, IMO. Very good headphones for the money otherwise. I can spare a little epoxy and some time to keep them going.
I had to do even more major repair on a pair of MEE headphones I loved. Swivel mechanism on the earpieces broke. A little KB Weld epoxy and they were good as new.

I have been on a quest of sorts for some over-the-ear headphones that have the ability to be wired and wireless at a cost that isn’t totally insane. My kids always like to play with the Skullcandy headphones when we go to the store, so I was immediately curious when I learned about the new Venue set.
First off, these things are crazy comfortable. There’s plush leather on the cups and the headband. I’ve worn these while marathoning Netflix while my wife’s asleep. Not only did the active noise cancelling drown out her snoring, but never once did my ears or head feel any kind of uncomfortable pressure.
The active noice cancelling feature is really nice and there’s actually 3 settings: off, obviously, on, again obvious, and then there’s a monitor mode which I assume is for music playback. The noise cancellation isn’t as strong as say, a premium brand’s ear buds, but I chalk that up to the fact that these sit over your ears and not in your ears.
The headset itself has my deal-breaker feature which is the ability to use it as a corded set if and when the battery dies (which I’ve never experienced since I let them charge overnight). The flexibility that having this option gives is undeniable.
They also come with a handy integration with Tile – that’s right, you can add these to your existing Tile set up and you can use Tile to find these if they go missing – or, more likely in my case, I set them somewhere and then forget.
Another nice feature is the case – these headphones are large, and they don’t fold up entirely, but they do lay flat and can be carried in the large, but nice case. The case itself also has holders for the aux cord and micro-USB charging cord, so you can take everything you need on the go!
If you’re like me and you want the ability to enjoy wireless, active noise cancelling sound while you binge Netflix, or want the convenience of connecting these to your PS4 controller – then you seriously need to pick these up. I was able to replace 3 headphone sets that I had because of this one pair. I love them!

In the box we get the headphones, an audio cable, a micro usb charging cable and a flat hard shell case which fits the headphones perfectly inside. These are some very low profile headphones. I like the way they look and feel. The earcups are sufficiently padded as well as under headband and feel comfortable when worn. On to the important stuff, how do they sound and perform.
Soundwise, these headphones are above average in sound while being a little bass forward. The active noise cancelling ( this is Skullcandy’s first product including ANC ) is well done, it blocks most of the ambient noise and allows the sound to be more isolated. It also has a monitor mode that allows sound in while the headphones are on so that you can hear your surrounding, which is a plus. From my test I got about 22 hours listening time with 60-70% volume and with the ANC turned on.
The only possible downside I have found is that the build quality might not be the greatest and that there is a subtle hiss when the ANC is turned on that might be annoying to some.

I received these headphones and right out of the box these Venues exude higher end. They are housed in a hard shell case with the Skullcandy logo on them. Inside the case is a molded area to protect the headphones when not in use. Included with the Venues is a charging wire, instructions and a mini jack wire to use with a non-IPhone or other legacy devices.
The headphones have a hard outer shell on the outside of each ear pad and soft leather ear cushions. What I immediately noticed when I put them on was the secure and comfortable fit. Each ear pad completely covers each ear creating a nearly sound proof seal. The controls include a power button, volume + \ – buttons, battery lights to show the amount of charge on the Venue and a Noise cancelling button.
The setup is very simple once you turn the Venues on, you push the Bluetooth search button and connect it to your phone, computer or other Bluetooth device and your set. Listening to music, the sound is full and clean, providing good detail. With movies through my laptop gave me an enveloping surround sound experience that put me in the middle of the action. Phone calls are clear and the mic works well. Without the use of the Automatic Noise Cancelling button the Venues do a good job blocking outside noise. When the ANC is used the level of outside noise is greatly reduced.
I really enjoy the Venues for all aspect of listening, music, movies and phone calls and would recommend them.

I have been using Skullcandy headsets for a LONG time and I loved my Hesh 2 pair for years; until he had just quiL. I actually started crying (fer realz).
I knew I wanted a Skullcandy to replace the Hesh 2 with the 3, but then, scrolling through the Best Buy app I saw the Skullcandy Venue.
The words “Noise Canceling” caught my eye. I tried a pair when they first came out.
*PLEASE READ TO THE END. THIS IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF REVIEW*
My last best friend, who was one of our many communications directors, had died for no apparent reason. I was so depressed I really missed how we would tell each other stories, some very scary but most were funny. I missed her dearly. No matter who I met, we just didn’t fit together.
One day, we hired a new director just for me!
When the I her to work,, BeBu Venue, OMG! She must have has some kind of magic. Finally my father came up and asked her, “please! My communication director has been falling falling behind in her work. I think I will switch the employees around! Yeah, this good, but I’am not sure let me think about…*mumble* *mumble*
BeBu had even kept secrets better!
We were in fear we going to be separated. FOREVER! So, BeBu and I hatched a plan. A big plan that could only work if were if her sister would be willing help us. She was more than happy to!
He was still thinking on the matter when there was a knock on the door. When he opened the door was a familiar face, holding a round case.
“I heard you were looking for a new communications director sent over by the agency, Best Buy. My name is Miss Venue, I and BeBu’s twin sister.”
*End of weird part of the Review*
    Ok now down to business:
Sleek and has a matte finish in black or white. The headphone speakers swivel and the cushion padding sits around the ear as opposed to sitting on the ear providing much needed comfort as well as contributing to the noise cancelling.
The noise cancelling Feature has 3 modes; active noise canceling, monitor mode uses the built in microphones to help you hear around you & off. (I have no idea how it works, but it does and is amazing!)
The clarity of sound is one of the best I have ever had. It is much better than the expensive $300.00 gaming headset I tried last year at my friend’s house! Good bass and I need my bass! The control buttons are very easy to use: power, volume and noise cancelling settings.
The microphone is built in so you don’t have that arm falling in your face all the time
    Bluetooth for hands free convenience.
Inside the product box, you will find another box, just kidding! It’s a round, hard zipper case. Inside that will be your headphones (of course), charging cord, and a 3.5 male to male audio if you want to be old school or your old MP3 player (or cassette Walkman [and, yes, I still have mine!) That is not bluetooth capable.
The power cable is a micro but it doesn’t include a wall charging port.
    In 2 sentences
    1. I absolutely love mine!
    2. I usually can’t write any kind of story, be it good or bad, but when I bought my Venue, my husband just HAD to try it! (He is in IT) He insisted I buy him one as well. Thus that horrible story was born!
    Ok 1 more sentence
    3. Now my daughter wants one!
