MR. E –
This is something very simple so it shouldn’t take a paragraph to write.
If people are having issues then they simply don’t understand how it works and the best way to deal with it appropriately.
Fogging happens when the hot wet air hits the surface of the mirror when it is of a lower temperature. This mirror works by way of putting it directly in the hot water which raises its temperature so that it will not fog.
Very simple.
Here is the catch that might be causing some of you to have issues. If your bathroom air temperature is chilly, then once you take the mirror out from the hot water stream it will begin to drop in temperature. You might end up having to put it back under the water to raise the temperature again.
I would buy this again and recommend it to anybody with at least the half of a brain required to use it properly.
Mr. Louis T. Rogerson –
When I first bought this product I thought it excellent and shaving in the shower has seriously improved my life! It has, however, began to fail already! The mirror coating on the back of the plastic is coming away which distorts the image. It will not be long before this is completely useless and will have to go in the bin. Very disappointing!
Luap123 –
I do enjoy shaving with this in the shower and its really good.
As everyone else states though the adhesive isn’t very good.
I cleaned surfaces exactly as recommended (Even more so) and thought everything was OK as it stuck for many months.
Unfortunately in the middle of the night it fell off the tiles and woke me up and then of course I couldn’t get back to sleep after.
Solution: I have now just re-cleaned and reattached it using JB Weld and expect this to NEVER come off again, but I will update in the future if it does.

See images. The back of this mirror, purchased 4 months ago, has peeled off!
The front of the mirror also as a result of this peeling has gone see through in part.
I accept the “basic science” that they claim – just run the mirror under hot water in the shower and it will de-steam (of course it will – ANY mirror will) but it will also steam up again (and it does – in a matter of minutes).
In all a waste of time – 4 months down the line is ready for the bin.
“We stand by our products” they claim. Unfortunately it’s out of Amazon return date and seems to be an American Company so it’s really not worth the hassle of trying to return it (and is also out of Stock on Amazon UK now).
To add insult to injury, the provided (very cheap) hook has also lost its adhesive properties and has also fallen off the shower wall, despite the surface having been cleaned with Isopropyl Alcohol prior to fitting it.
Very annoying / useless.

A lot depends on your positioning of the unit to how well your face is lit up.
Ideally you require the light to directly reflect off your face to see your image clearly, though in my case it is against a pomegranate T&G Selkie shower board with no direct sunlight to illuminate my eye candy stunning looks!
Yes, I could reposition the unit but it would mean sticking the holder on the curved section of the off set quadrant shower which would then be in the way when using the Aqualux Showerblade.
Many people have commented re fogging up, of course it will fog up, just aim the hot water from your shower on it every so often and it will clear. If you struggle with that, maybe you should wait until your mother comes home to shave you.
This basic device is far cheaper than buying an expensive electrical Zone 1 unit that doesn’t fog up by the use of mains power and it has replaced my old shower mirror which worked on the same fog free principle.
*UPDATE*
I purchased a 4 pack clear suction cup / hooks from a local hobby craft store, obviously I only needed the one but it was cheaper than buying a singular item! I removed the metal hook and promptly stuck the suction cup to the curved glass section on the off set quadrant shower enclosure where the sunlight lights up my eye candy good looks. I have noticed that where I originally had the mirror behind the shower, it kept misting up quickly but with it placed on the opposing wall (glass), it doesn’t fog up as quick. Then all I have to do is reposition it elsewhere until I next need to use it, which keeps the glass free ready to be wiped down after showering (can you now stop thinking of me standing in the shower, please).
Amazon Customer –
Let me share my short and annoying journey with this otherwise great product.
Bought this mirror to put it in my shower, obviously. First of all I didn’t like the fact that it comes with an adhesive mounted hanger, rather than a suction cup, but I’ve bought a couple from ebay, so that part was sorted.
The tiles in my shower have a texture to them, so no suction cups or adhesive stuff can go on it, consequently it had to go on the shower door (glass). I’ve put the separately bought suction cup on the inside of the shower door and hung the mirror up, it was fabulous and worked as advertised, I was happy up until I stepped out from the shower.
The mirror has a relatively large sticker on the back with some basic information and the manufacturer’s logo on it and because the mirror was hung up from the inside, this sticker was visible from the outside. For a day or two I thought I can live with it, but I just couldn’t. Every time I’ve stepped in the bathroom this sticker just stared at me, it was annoying, it was aesthetically unpleasant.
I decided to take the sticker off. To be fair, it came off easily enough, but then it left a horrible, gluey residue behind which immediately started gathering dirt. I tried and tried to rub it off to no avail, it just got more and more mucky, dirty, disgusting so at the last resort I’ve put on some rubbing alcohol on it.
Well you can see the result of that on the pictures I’ve made. Basically the alcohol dissolved the coating that made the mirror, a mirror. Let me also mention, that the mirror’s coating came off easier than the glue residue.
So there you go, a perfectly fine mirror, ruined by a damned sticker they had to put on.
I’ll look somewhere else and hope I can find one without any advertising on the back and thats what I would suggest to all, who will hang it up on their shower door.

This was delivered to me on April 30, 2019. It is now August 26, 2019. As you can see from my first photo, this was not installed under a steady stream of water. It is on the opposite wall of our shower head. I have followed the instructions exactly, running it under warm water to adjust the temperature. That part worked fine. But almost from the beginning, the backing began flaking off. About 2 months ago, I noticed what I thought was a ‘stain’ on the front, but now the front is flaking off to the extent that I can see right through from front to back. Soon it will be just a ‘window’ on my shower wall. It has only been 4 months, for a product that is touted to last ‘a lifetime’. It’s not worth returning now and I will not buy a replacement or accept one from the manufacturer. This is not worth the price, even though the price was low. I will look elsewhere for something that will hold up better. I do not recommend this product.
Edit – I received a note from the company. They are sending me a new product, a mirror that has a special coating on it made for our circumstances, the use of a water softener and well water. If this product is an improvement, I will update my review of the product. The customer service so far has been great!
Edit #2 – I received my replacement mirror several weeks ago. It does have some sort of covering on the back of the mirror. Unfortunately, this does not seem to help. I have already noticed deterioration of the backing similar to the first mirror. So as a final review, I cannot recommend this mirror, original or replacement. It just does not hold up under normal circumstances.

Simple, useful little product. I purchased my first first one in March 2016. The reflective backing started to peel off after about a year and that is my only caveat. Durability is a question. Nevertheless, I purchased another and will see if this one holds out a bit longer.
UPDATE (12/01/2017): Immediately after posting my initial review in October 2017, I was directly contacted by one of the owners of the company. He offered and then delivered to me (at no charge) a replacement for my first purchased mirror that has stronger backing to survive hard water. I cannot tell you how impressed I was and am. Simply OUTSTANDING customer service and I’ve raised my rating to 5 stars!!

This is a great mirror. I use it to shave under my arms because I have neck issues and can no longer comfortably see under my arms. I lift it off its hook right before I start shaving to clear it of fog (if there’s any) by running it under the water for a few seconds and it stays clear long after I’m done. We have a big shower so if yours is more confined, you may need to run the mirror under the water more than once if you’re a man shaving your face & you use really hot water, but it’s a great size, good quality and well worth the price. The image you see in the reflection is exactly what you see in a regular mirror, with no distortion. I looked for awhile to find this one & am very happy with my choice. I highly recommend!

I am upgrading my review of this product based upon the excellent customer service that this company provides. Using the instructions below that I copied and pasted from the email I received, I now can appreciate the quality of this mirror. I have never experienced a company that has this level of excellence.
With your purchase of the Deluxe Shave Well Mirror the most important thing to us is that you are delighted with your purchase decision. Quite frankly, we will not be satisfied until you are…
From your comments there are a couple of suggestions I can make that may enhance your user experience:
1. Given your comments about the mirror fogging, please allow me an opportunity to explain how the mirror functionally works.
* Most houses are kept in a temperature range of 70-75 degrees.
* The average shower water temperature is 107.5 degrees.
* Fog on a mirror is simply condensation. The air in the bathroom is heated by the shower and becomes saturated with moisture.
* When this saturated moist hot air comes in contact with the shower shave mirror (which is still at normal room temperature roughly 30 degrees less), the moisture comes out of the air and condensates on the shower shave mirror surface.
* When you hold your Shave Well mirror under the shower stream for a few seconds, the acrylic mirror will warm up allowing for the temperature of the moist air and the mirror itself to equalize.
* Once you have held the mirror in the shower spray to equalize the temperature of your shower and the mirror, there can’t/won’t be any fog/condensation.
All of that being said, the mirror works on basic science. The best practical example I can offer is the comparison of a cup of hot coffee and a glass of ice cold soda. If you set them side by side, the cold glass of soda over time will be covered in condensation and the cup of coffee will be warm and dry. As said above, moisture will condensate on the cooler surface. Bringing this example back to your mirror, if your mirror is still fogging after you warm it up under the shower spray then the only answer I can offer is that it remains cooler than the temperature of the warm moist shower. Since the mirror is rather thin acrylic, it should warm up in the few seconds you have been holding it in the warm water of the shower spray.
Some additional thoughts that remain would be
a.) If the mirror hung so high that there is a direct flow of cool air over the shower curtain/door or whether an air conditioning vent is blowing toward it. If this is the case, I am happy to send you a new hook so that you can reposition the mirror.
b.) Research conducted by Gillette has shown that dry facial hair requires the same force to cut as copper wire of an equal diameter. After 3 minutes in the shower, hair has lost 70% of its tensile strength. As such, shaving toward the end of your shower is best on your face…and your mirror. Why? The wall of your shower is cooler than your recently warmed mirror. The later in your shower that you shave…the warmer the wall…the longer the mirror will remain warm…the longer the mirror will remain fog-free. Try it! I am sure you will see a big difference.
c.) Make sure you are turning both the front and back of the mirror under the shower water spray when you are equalizing it. This will help in “warming it up” to equalize the temperature.
2.) Regarding the “windshield” comments, try to clean your mirror with toothpaste. While this will not eliminate the water droplets on the mirror (which dry and make water spots), from personal experience I can tell you that once cleaned with toothpaste, the water “sheets” off the mirror and you are left with fewer water droplets on the surface. Simply wet the mirror, put a pea size amount of toothpaste on the mirror surface, wet the pea sized blob of toothpaste (note the emphasis on keeping it all wet…), rub it around a bit and rinse it off well. This cleaning will take care of the water droplet issue for a week or two and your mirror will look like new.
As noted on the instruction sheet that comes in the mirror carton:
What should I use to clean my mirror?
Toothpaste works the best to remove water spots. Simply rub it on and rinse it off. Washing the mirror with toothpaste will virtually eliminate any residual water droplets from the surface of the mirror.
