Beautiful pair of boots. Leather slightly lighter than expected, but still a quality boot. Well made with soft supple leather.

Great color and fit. I Habsburg already gotten so many compliments. The W is not wide calf it’s for the foot fit. The foot area feels right but I’m sure they will loosen with more wear.

These boots are awesome. They are super comfortable wit the rubberized and padded soles that move with your foot. The colour is true to the picture. The leather smells great and is very soft and pliable. The wife foot bed is perfect for my short toes and wide foot. The rounded toe is extremely comfortable. They come up to the bottom of my knee cap and snap in the back to protect the zipper. I have two complained about this gorgeous boot. First, the calf is a bit wide for mine and is about the same width of the regular sole width Penny riding boot, which is fine with me. It means that I can wear them over pants. So far, they appear to be water resistant as my socks have remained dry in wet weather. They will mark and stain with rock salt in our Canadian winters, but there are ways of removing stains and protecting the leather. Just look online for more information on that. My issue is the way that they form around my ankle and calf. They are not shaped in the most flattering way in this area and it kind of begins to look like I’m wearing gum boots in the way that they move when I walk. Comfort outweighs this in my option. Second: the snap flap that covers the zipper at the top/back pops off extremely easily if you brush against something, ie. driving, sitting against a chair, resting one boot behind the other, etc. If you leave them dangling unsnapped, it jingles a bit. Arrived quickly and the seller was awesome to deal with. I have purchased again, as I enjoy these boots so much. I now own both the black and brown.

Nice pair of boots but my legs were swimming in them. The boot opening is huge compared to my calves (I’m 5’6″ 110lbs 13.5″ calves). I should have paid more attention to the boot opening dimension. Everything else seems great though: comfortable, relatively accurate sizing (they are on the larger side), good traction, quality leather/hardware, etc.

I have these boots in black so I knew what to expect. I ordered a brown pair but theyes are different shades and it’s noticeable.

I have thicker calves then most and it has been so discouraging to try to buy a good quality pair of boots that fit comfortably. Most boots labeled as “Wide Calf” are typically 16″ and some are labeled as 17″ but from my experience, I get them and the end up smaller. I was so excited when I found these boots, but I tried my best to contain the excitement until so that I would not be disappointed yet again if they didn’t fit. I am happy to report that they are in fact 18″ in circumference and were the perfect fit. I love the soft, high quality leather and the stylish look! I am so happy with these that I sent a note on the Sam Edelman company site asking them to consider adding additional new styles in the Extended wide calf! I will be a forever customer if they do! A++++++++

I wanted to like this boot, but there were several issues. The right side fit ok, but the left side was smaller and more difficult to zip up (both are showing as the same size). These are advertised as being made with leather (I ordered the black leather), but the outer material looks synthetic and is pretty thin. I could also see some of the glue where the leather meets the sole – it looks like it is already starting to separate right out of the box. I have never bought this brand before, so I am not sure if all their shoes are made this way. But based on some of these other reviews, it seems like these may be knock-offs. The price and quality just don’t match up. I decided to return them rather than taking my chances wearing them outdoors.

I have a boot addiction. I bought these boots in search of a Frye lookalike boot but with more comfort and stretch. I purchased these boots in grey and they were beautiful and crisp coming out of the box. The inside of the top of boot is shorter than the outside part of the leg which leaves an asymmetrical appearance that I like. I am a typical 9.5 in boots and a size 10 in shoes. I have small calves and long, thin legs and these fit mine perfectly. Good boots like these will stretch with use. I am already noticing a bit of stretch around the ankle after only 2 wears. I hope this doesn’t continue too much because I don’t want them to appear baggy at the ankles. There is a touch of black shadowing along the base/sole and heel, which gives a classy look. There is a thicker patch of leather behind the heel that adds a nice effect as well. I like the zipper up the back with snap across. My only complaint is that the foot is pretty tight in width and I have extremely narrow feet. I do have bunions, however, which is likely causing the problem. The area around my bunions feels the tightest and is already starting to show the knot through the leather. If you have bunions, I don’t recommend these in comparison to other boots I own.

Update 11-16-17: I’ve now worn these boots about 10 times and they fit perfectly. The stretched out gradually and have molded beautifully to my feet. The are so comfy that I find myself wearing them all day, even when I’m home from work! Very impressed with their durability and high quality leather.

Great leather and nice color! Recommended! Bought wild calf 16″ wide at the first, because my calf is 15- 1/2″ wide, and i was thinking penny 2 regular would not fit (since 15″ wide). Then turn out the wide Cal was too big on me, and I had to return it for this regular cal size, a little tight at the beginning, but makes my legs look really nice, skinny and straight. My first day wore it to work within 8 hrs sitting and working in the office, I had no problem at all. Even afternoon, my legs usually got a little swollen and bigger than morning, since sitting too much. After couple of days wore these boots, the leather did stretched a little big, now it is perfect, not tight anymore. Loved it.

I bought the tan color, and i will definitely buy the black one as well, wish they had other color options beside tan and black for this style.

Forgot to mention, my first wide Cal boots that I had to return, the process was really easy and smooth. Bring copy to Canada post , that was it, no shipping fees and no other procedure. Nice

Overall these boots are amazing. Great value for the money. I’ve received many compliments on them and would recommend them to others. I have athletic calves and narrow ankles and my biggest gripe with most riding boots is the bunching that inevitably occurs around the ankles after normal wear. I am noticing less of this with the Penny Riding Boot but it still feels to be a bit loose around the ankle.

Update: After wearing in 1.5 winters I can say the quality stands and my only negative comment would be that the leather in the foot bed seems to stretch a little bit. If you’re between sizes then size down so your foot doesn’t slide around later.

    Pros:
    – beautiful, premium quality and overall fit
    – very comfortable
    – true to color
    – soft buttery leather
    – easy to zip on and off
    – elastic detail on shaft provides a little wiggle room to fit boot socks or thick leggings

    Cons:
    – Small amount of bunching around the ankle (for those w/ narrow ankles)

Listen, I base purchases on reviews and this is a pricey purchase so hear me out before you decide.

This boot is gorgeous, feels great, zips easily and appears to be comfortable but I haven’t worn out yet so that’s undetermined right now.

I wear a 7 /7.5 in some shoes that run large like sandals and some booties but rarely. Vans 7.5 definitely because they’re huge!! .

I am typically an 8/8.5 in mostly every shoe I wear. Boots I tend to go more 8.5 because thick socks obviously. Based on reviews of this boot, narrowness and length being big, I went 8 wide width even thought my foot is not wide. It’s perfect with boot socks. They’re baggy at the ankle if you don’t have larger ankles though. The biggest part of my calf is 14.5 and there’s a thumbs worth of space when zipped. Not snug, not too baggy. They will stretch because leather always does. I possibly could’ve gone 7.5 in this boot with stretching but I was too afraid to chance that small. An 8 will hopefully not stretch too much, however, they are very narrow still even with wide width. If you buy regular width, you better have the slimmest narrowest feet ever or your pinky toe will die.

Great boot, fit is just off a little so I took off one star because if it. I prefer this boot over Frye. It deserves 5 stars but they need to get the fit right for $150, dude.

    Good luck!
