The mat is light but stays on place perfectly. And if I want to move it around a bit is no problem at all… I just push it gently with my feet. It’s made of good materials and the good quality shows. I got the pomegranate color and loooove it!! It adds a colorful and warm color to the kitchen.

I bought this in the 4′ length for in front of my kitchen sink area over a year ago. It replaced a beautiful fabric-covered gel comfort mat which was very nice until my dogs decided that it was a great spot to get comfy while gnawing chew toys and bones. The attractiveness of that mat disappeared fairly quickly since it could only be spot cleaned and stains settled into the fabric covering. So, that’s why I bought this vinyl covered one, thinking that clean-up would be a breeze.

And, as expected, clean-up *is* very easy. Its pebbly-textured vinyl surface resists stains and wipes off easily since the texture doesn’t involve any deep recesses.

I’m also very pleased with the comfort level when standing on this mat. I’ve had issues with my knees for the past few years and I bought this one and its prettier predecessor before I had both knees replaced a year ago. The “need” for a comfort mat isn’t as critical now as it was before the joint replacement, but it’s still nice to have a cushioned area to stand for prolonged periods like when chopping veggies or cleaning up. This mat is very thick and comfortable to stand on; however, the edges are nicely beveled to prevent any tripping over edges. Unlike some others who reviewed this mat, I haven’t had any problems whatsoever with the edges curling up. After over a year of regular use, it lays flat and the surface remains in unmarred condition.

But now we get to what I REALLY don’t like about it. It won’t stay put. Not at all. I’m constantly reaching down to move it back into place — not just occasionally but after every single use. Our kitchen floors are a grid of wide heart pine planks filled with large slate squares. And, unfortunately, these GelPro mats skooch all over slick, hard-surface flooring. I’d bought it in the longer 4′ length in order to have it also cover a section of the heart pine that is right between the main kitchen sink and the dishwasher. When in its proper place, the mat is long enough to prevent any dribbled water from hitting the wood plank while loading the dishwasher. And it would protect that wood section perfectly if it didn’t keep moving. But after a short period of standing and moving around on it, I’ll notice that it’s shifted a couple of feet to the left and a foot away from the cabinets. Oddly enough, when I’m intentionally trying to move it back into place or if I just bump the edge with my foot while walking near it, it doesn’t slide easily. But there’s something about moving and shifting your weight while standing on it, that makes it want to really travel.

All in all, it’s a nice quality and very comfortable gel mat. It would be perfect if it didn’t want to travel across the floor.

This mat is great for standing in the kitchen! 5 stars for keeping feet from getting fatigued. However…the reason for only 3 stars is obvious in the picture I attached. The edges of the mat, especially the corners, do not lay flat to the floor but curl or at least sit up slightly. Maybe this is being to picky, but because of this issue we have tripped on the mat so many times! Other potential buyers should be aware of this.

So disappointed – My first NewLife by GelPro Floor Mat —– was the Leather Grain style – it was thick and luxurious – like standing on a cloud. When I ordered my second mat I needed a lighter color. Unfortunately the Leather Grain did not have a light color. So I ordered a pebble design. Big disappointment, it was much thinner and the material did not seem equal to the Leather Grain. When I compared the backs of both mats the Pebble material looked different and the top finish shiny and cheap with not much cushion.

This otherwise excellent product’s underside is a thick sponge, which is ergonomically comfortable, but the color of the underside is, unfortunately, solid black. When my new, expensive stone kitchen floor became wet–as kitchen floors do–one edge of this mat’s underside bled a dark stain onto the floor which has proved to be impossible to remove.
I recommend buyers choose a kitchen mat product which shows a photo of the underside, which this one does not.

I love fatigue mats. I bought these for the color as I wanted the blue, and I do like the color. Also liked the price, but wish I would have spent the higher price for better quality. They will not stay put. They are thin so not the best for comfort. My last fatigue mats were by Cumulus and they did last 4 years (still work good but a bit rough on the top now so I moved them to my basement in front of my laundry. I think had Fellows prior to that. I should have spent more money and got a better set… and settled for the basic black or brown or grey.

Purchase this mat in May 2013. The mat provides great comfort for standing. Unfortunately, it doesn’t hold its shape/remain flat or flush to the floor over time. I noticed the problem within the first 4 months, but didn’t expect it to keep getting worse. The mat “curling” creates a significant tripping hazard in the kitchen. As you can see from the images, from a distance an individual walking toward the mat wouldn’t necessarily notice the hazard. However, up close, it’s clear that it’s easy for ones foot to get caught. When your working with knives, hot pans, etc this creates multiple opportunities for hazardous situations. I tried to work around it at first, but it’s just too much of a risk. Mom almost fell, but caught herself on the counters edge. I’m going to replace the mat with one of better quality so the edges don’t curl up.

“I own two of these, in a different color “Toasted Leather Grain”, apparently no longer available. Were fine about a year until both started curling up around the edges…. all the way around to lift up about a half-inch. Causes a trip hazard.”

I was contacted by GelPro customer service who obviously reads the reviews and believes in standing behind their product well after the warranty. They replaced both of my 2 year old mats with new improved ones! Thanks you GelPro! These new ones are a lot nicer, the edges are formed downward so they hug the floor, and there is much less slippage on the floor. Much better! Thanks again!

this is a nice product but I got the Gelpro elite first which is so much cushier to stand on.
it’s good but if you can afford the extra, get the elite

These mats are super comfortable and hard to beat. I would advise against getting the leather grain. I ordered Navy and while I would have liked it to be more of a navy than a royal blue, I was willing to keep them. I had them down for 4 months. The thing is, one drop of water puts a mark on it….being by the sink, it was a constant cleaning job all day long. The look just filthy even though your washing consistently. I think it would be better if there was a pattern to hide every drop of water that falls. They became so much work, I replaced them with something much cheaper and definitely not as good comfort wise. While it doesn’t permanently stain for sure, They just never looked clean. Everything shows. I wish they had a navy with a pattern on it. I am going to guess that all the leather grain mats will perform this way. So I was disappointed, gave it lots of time and after the return window, ..trying to accept the work that came with these mats. They are expensive compared to others out there You will not beat the comfort and quality, Just don’t get a solid dark color. I wish I had of returned them but that was my mistake…

As stated this is a super comfortable mat. Only issue is with the colour, it shows everything. I picked it based on our decor, but in hind sight wished I had pick a different colour. Despite this small issue it is very easily cleaned, and with it’s comfort, I wouldn’t trade it for any other mat

Purchased this product 2 years ago. The backing gets stuck on the floor and now is peeling off. This mat isn’t going to last more than 2 years.

Update: I emailed the company’s support team regarding the problem I was having with their mat. I was told that the mat has a 1 year warranty and they were willing to offer 50% off on a new mat. As I’m not really keen on buying another mat only for it to come apart in 2 years, I’m going to pass on their offer. For comparison, I purchased an Imprint Cumulus9 Kitchen Mat at the same as I purchased this mat and I’ve had no issues with that. I’m going to purchase my replacement from Imprint mats.

We purchased two of these mats for our kitchen. For about 6 months, they were great. Then the edges began to curl. By 8 months, the beveled edges had curled up to the point that they were no longer safe. We kept tripping over them. They are now in the trash. I would not recommend these to anyone. They are dangerous.
