This is the type of socket recommended by Broan for their European style chimney hood. It gives you a little more room for the ductwork inside the chimney by recessing the large plug into the wall. I don’t like that there is a hook permanently built into this… it’s not needed and there is no option to remove or buy a version without a hook.

The center location of the outlet work out perfectly behind my refrigerator. A few of mention that the clip is a pain in the butt, you can simply cut it off with a pair of wire cutters it’s not a big deal
For the price of an outlet and faceplate you get both. Used it for behind a wall mounted tv – works as expected

I bought an older house with this outlet in the kitchen but it was old and needed replacing. It’s for a hanging clock that plugs in and I couldn’t find a similar outlet at any local store so I’m glad to find one here. Most people have battery operated clocks nowadays but I couldn’t imagine patching up this cool old feature. Plus, it has the hook on it so even if you only have a battery operated clock you can still hang it in front of the outlet.

For a product of it’s type today when wall clocks are extremely rare the quality of the outlet is pretty good. No complaints.

The old plug was not working. Ordered the new plug which arrived promptly and replaced it and now I can microwave popcorn again. Worked as expected.

Perfect for hiding an outlet behind a picture for a picture light without the cord showing!

May sound counter intuitive, but the single outlet is mounted in the middle and the cord from my appliance would not fit because of the material below the plug. I ordered a double outlet, plugged it in the top and this gave me enough room. Not sure what real advantage a single outlet has.

Dans mon cas, c’est pour mon réfrigérateur. Très utile pour reculer celui-ci le plus possible.
