I purchased several Anker soundcore 2 speakers 3 months ago unfortunately one had an issue recently. Every time I set the volume to high like above 70%, I hear scratchy sound and there’s no more bass. To rule out bluetooth issue, I tried to pair it to another phone and laptop but to no avail
I sent an email to anker support and in less than 24 hours I received a reply. I was offered a replacement after I explained the issue. This is what customer service should be like.
So far the replacement speaker is working great. I was also told that I just keep the defective unit and no need to send it back to avoid inconvenience on my part.
Five stars to Anker Excellent Customer Support.

Updated: Amazing customer service. When Anker heard I had an issue they jumped in, replaced the problem device and made sure I was happy. Will buy from them anytime. Sometimes there is an issue, how it is handled shows what kind of company you are – Anker is great!
Original: When this thing is working it is great. Small form factor and quality sound. Exactly what I was looking for. Only thing is that is appears to be haunted (just kidding). It has an issue with power, it turns itself on for no reason which obviously effects the battery life. Being on when not used is not helpful. Sometimes it will simply cycle through on and off for no reason and then a few minute later all is well. frustrating since it sounds so good

I have had other Anker products and loved the sound quality. This is the reason I went for this model, based on brand alone. Unfortunately I returned it.
The speaker is encased in a silicone type of material and gives great protection to the speaker. I was getting about 4-5hrs worth of battery life. The reason for the return was sound quality. You can not raise the volume past the 1/2 way point without major distortion which will not work for the setting I needed it for. In addition it sounded flat. I ended up for $20 more getting the Bose Micro speaker soundLink and I am loving it.

I have a 24 ft round above ground pool with elaborate decking all across my back yard. I had 4 “rock speakers” that were wired under my house attached to my stereo receiver. After about 4-5 yrs, the rocks were losing their sound quality and needed to be replaced. All the rock speakers available these days, wireless, did not have great reviews. I don’t need much, but I wanted something for background sound, private time, parties etc. I am completely amazed at the quality of this product. I never realized how much I wanted to change up music, rather than play a radio station with commercials and replays. The wired rock speakers never allowed for that. The anker is obviously portable, the depth of sound and quality is fantastic, and was super easy to pair with my cell. Now I can play Pandora, Sirius or my amazon music. My phone is always in a safe place out by the pool deck anyway, so I can put the anker anywhere around the party area and it’s still loud and clear enough to be heard anywhere around the entire back yard. My neighbor thought I had put in new speakers, and was amazed when I showed him the little anker speaker that is providing music now. I thought I was going to need 2, but wanted to try one 1st. I won’t be needing 2, the one does the job quite nicely. Super happy with this purchase, and highly recommend it!

I love the sound, the size, the price, the length of charge, and that it’s water resistant. It connects quickly to my iPhone through Bluetooth. Great for an outdoor family gathering. I also take it around the yard in my supply wagon when I’m gardening. I immediately bought one for my sister’s birthday. She likes it, too. I’m very happy with it, so far.

Ok…. don’t every try this….
I was rushing doing my laundry 3 days before my vacation and somehow my sound core 2 was folded over and ended up in the washing machine….. FOR THE FULL NORMAL CYCLE…. I heard some noise but did not bother checking the machine as I was busy with other chores….. I unloaded the machine and was horrified….. my speaker was in the washing machine.
I turned it on and it still had a charge… I shut it off and put in a pot of rice to dry off.
I immediately ordered another one on prime as I wanted have one for my trip. I returned from my vacation …. turned the original one on …. and it works fine…
I would not recommend this test…. but hey…. its still working

This product is not worth it, I’m quite disappointed with anker, I bought it thinking it would be the same quality as one of their items I bought previously. But it wasn’t. I’ve only had it for three months, and one of the speakers is completely distorted, and it does not have a standby charge time of 24 hours as out claims.

Come on, people! Who is really giving this thing 5 stars? I just got this thing last night and yeah, it’s pretty cool looking. The high end sound isn’t bad, I suppose. But if this thing is supposed to have “improved bass”… I’d hate to listen to the one that came before WITHOUT that better bass. The sound stage is not good. Heck… my 6 year old JBL speaker that is almost the same exact size sounds subjectively better than this. The only reason I may keep it is for the projected long battery life. Can’t speak to that yet. I’m guessing a lot of the reviews on here were bought and paid for. It’s the only explanation for all the 5 stars on here because this speaker is really only worth the less than $40 price tag. Don’t be fooled. You’ll get what you pay for here… which isn’t much. (Try and censor THIS review now, Amazon!)

When this arrived, as with all good Bluetooth products, it took simply moments to setup and talk to my smartphone. I was instantly impressed with the quality of the sound, even at decent volume.
Yesterday, due to the blistering hot day, we had it playing ALL day outside, again at a good volume, and the battery is still good!
Excellent product. Does exactly what we wanted which was to have a speaker we could listen to in the garden without having to trail extension cables out for the alternative SONOS speakers.

This little musical rectangle is a beast. Bought it for a cabin party in the middle of BFE and this puppy out preformed my every expectation. The ability to walk away (60’+) and still be able to stay connected via Bluetooth is amazing. Accidentally spilling drinks on/around the speaker didn’t harm it one bit. Not to mention the ability to play music non-stop from 2pm till 4am without having having to plug this device in, and still have plenty of batter for the whole next day is amazing. All in all, after doing some research before purchasing, I would buy/recommend this product time and time again after what I and everyone else put this device through that one weekend. What a rectangle!

Anker Soundcore 2
Amazing speaker for such a compact size.
As some reviews say it’s never going to compete with larger speakers around 24w/50w but boy does this little gadget give you pleasing sound!!!.
It is lightweight for its size and made extremely well for its price. I upgraded from a Creative Muvo Mini & I haven’t been disappointed. I’ve tried listening to very Bass heavy music EDM, Progressive Rock, Soul to test the various highs & lows amazing. Tried in various parts of the house & at work I’m a support worker so this has been a hit using here. Volume has hit 80dBs and trust me whether using for a movie, music, or gaming you wont be disappointed. The speaker has had some problems with the sound lagging when streaming but a software update is available on Ankers website. I would advise when doing this fully turn off the speaker & on again a few times if you get an error saying device isnt compatible because it will then proceed to update the firmware.
Overall a very impressive experience from a speaker that’s portable compact & gives a good balanced sound

I was tempted into buying a mobile Bluetooth speaker and decided to buy the Anker after reading a few reviews and comparing prices. On delivery (which was super quick), I was able to connect and go immediately. It’s quite intuitive to use and the battery is already charged. The volume is impressive and while the sound quality can be distorted at the highest volume the sound quality at lower volumes was very good. An expert in speakers could tell you what the issues are but as a “normal” listener with reasonable requirements for a speaker then this fits the bill perfectly without emptying your bank account.

I bought the speaker for use in the kitchen, pairing to an iPad, to watch TV etc., and I was initially impressed by the sound (it’s clear even with a big extractor fan going!), but unimpressed by the fact that there was a noticeable delay between people’s lips moving, and the sound coming out of the speaker! I went to the Anker web site, and found that there’s a firmware update for the Soundcore 2, but you do need a PC or a Mac to apply it. Once I followed the video (it’s a bit arcane, you need to hold down one or 2 buttons and hold them *as* you plug in the USB cable) the update took a very short time, and the cound is now perfectly in sync. Good job, it saved me having to send it back!
