    DO NOT BUY.

This TV is manufactured by Hisense and not by Toshiba. They just slap on a Toshiba symbol and have licensed to use the Toshiba name.

The TV was purchased through Amazon and delivered by Best Buy and after a week it stopped working. Remote started burning through batteries (each battery lasted less than 24 hours) and the TV was not turning on. Called the number on the manual for tech support and was informed that it is a Hisense product and not Toshiba. They said they would send me a remote. After a month of waiting no remote was sent. Called again after two months and again they promised a remote will be sent and no remote ever arrived. Called again – now it is 3 months since I purchased the product, and they informed me that the warranty for the remote is past (3 months for accessories). I then asked them to send a technician to service the tv for it not turning on. They escalated the issue and the supervisor thought it would be cheaper for them to send a remote than a tv technician. Again after a week – no remote. Called for a technician to come and fix the problem. It is now 3.5 months since the defect deflection game being played by Hisense was outrageous. Made no progress with their supervisory team and am not able to get a technician sent out.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM BUYING THIS PRODUCT FROM AMAZON or BEST BUY. Am disappointed in both these organizations for even promoting this terrible product. Not worth the $450 I spent on it.

    DO NOT BUY.

Ordered Monday, delivered Tuesday morning. It works just as advertised. It automatically connected to my other fire devices and downloaded the apps that I already use. Setup took 5 minutes. I read every negative review and I experienced none of what these whiners wrote about.

I was leary of purchasing another Toshiba Fire TV. My 2019 model barely made it 2 years before having issues with backlighting with negative green flashes. (The work around for that is to set the backlighting to 65 and it went away… Any higher and it is dying.)

I wasn’t certain about the quality. I will update this once I have more data. This is day one of purchase and this is more the initial thoughts.

This TV was rather easy to setup. I use it with my Yamaha receiver and a Google Chromecast with Google TV. HDMI1 is the Chromecast, HDMI2 is my receiver output for settings menus, and HDMI 3 is for my antique Spectrum DVR. The audio out through optical audio out.

As with my old one, in order to get the best sound quality, I turn of the set speakers and turn off all the TV sound modifying settings. They only work for the TV speakers and you don’t need them.

Don’t get me wrong. The TV’s speakers are nice, clear, and loud. I just love quality from my receiver much more than any set speakers or a sound bar.

I do have specific video quality settings that I work on for my TVs. Those are just personal preference. I disable any filtering or processing besides the one that upconverts lower than 1080 resolution and it works really well. Put on one of Spectrum’s analogue channels and it sharpened the image up and stretched it better.

I can get better picture quality than this TV and the price is around twice as much and with a bezelless design, neutral front, and works with my equipmen, I am happy with this Toshiba.

There’s the caveat of this review being right after release. I will be updating this review if there is any issues.

So far it is working great. The problem I have is that the set is so new, Logitech hasn’t updated their Harmony Hub to work proper. I was having to manually train buttons and half wouldn’t work properly.

That’s just the pain of buying early.

My early impressions are that it’s a great, cheap, television for those on a budget or to stick in a playroom for kids. So far, I can say, that it’s a good TV.

It’s okay except for one issue (so far). The backlight at the four corners is noticeably dim in comparison to the rest of the screen when viewing a light/white image. When using Bluetooth to an audio device the audio is out of sync with the video. Adjusting the delay does not correct the issue. Using the internal speakers it is synced okay. Another issue…the tv turns off and reboots occasionally. The only documentation is a brief quick start guide and spec sheet. I contacted Toshiba. There isn’t a published owner’s manual (print or web/download). Now, after a few weeks, 3 areas of the screen have developed dead pixels..Returning for replacement.
Received the replacement today after waiting 10 days. It’s screen is completely shattered. What a horrible experience. I was informed today that Best Buy will not send another replacement. Sent it back two hours after I got it. (Second time having to lug them over to UPS) Let’s see if I ever receive my refund for the original purchase. Beware when buying from seller Best Buy. It’s been over a week since they were returned and still no refund. Sorry, Best Buy…never again

Mark’s on the top of the screen from peeling the tape off (or maybe from shipping)

I guess you get what you pay for

Made by Hisense using Toshiba label. Great features for the prize. Very Amazon centric, but also easy to add other services such as Netflix, Disney Plus, HDMI sources, etc. Speakers not the greatest, but not an issue for me since I’m using with a soundbar. Very happy with the purchase.

STAY AWAY from ANY FIRE TV (except Samsung) if you watch CNN.go and have Spectrum cable/iternet. It and its own Spectrum APP will not work on any TOSHIBA Fire Tv (of which i have 3) 😖 Even trying via a browser on the Toshiba Fire Tv WONT WORK.
