This was the highlight of the birthday party. He figured it out quickly and had about 45 minutes of staying with the same activity! That is no small thing. He loves it.

The toy barely works. Pretty sad as it was a gift. It came packaged just fine, store quality. But the overall item doesn’t work as well as you’d think for a NERF product.

I bought the Avengers NERF Power Moves Marvel Captain America Shield Sling NERF Disc-Launching Toy for Kids for my 6 yr old’s birthday. He was very excited to see it, but it did not work even once. I had to return it the next day. Very disappointing! Thank goodness for free returns!

Pros: My 3 year old finally has a Nerf toy that be can operate solely. He’s enjoyed this toy a few times. The shield is soft foam, yet sturdy.
Cons: Expensive for what it does. You have to “fling” it a certain way to direct it. My 3 y/o is somehow better at this than I am, because I cannot aim it. This has been a bit disheartening and caused my son not to use it as much as he would if it were a tad easier.
I understand this is not technically for a 3 year old, but why would a grown woman have such trouble?
Overall it’s a fun toy and I appreciate the simplicity it has over most Nerf products.

My 5 year old has had this permanently attached to him arm since he got it. The disk is foam (a little thin in my opinion) but so far has held up pretty well, and he’s used it inside the house and in the back yard. Sometimes it seems like the mechanics stick, but you have to be doing the “swinging” motion at the same time you hit the release button. Overall I would say it’s a good purchase.
