First off, beautiful, beautiful graphics. Great soundtrack, cut scenes are like watching an actual movie. I felt super immersed. I mean there is no reason not to play it if you are a FF7 fan. However, I do understand that it could be polarizing for many FF7 purists/fans. Some things have been changed and modified from the original. Some people will like it, some will hate it. There are also new characters. (Will not go into it, bc spoilers.) Yuffie was missing in the first remake version. Now we have Yuffie. I played through both, still had a great time.

While being a self proclaimed FF7 purist, I did have a few issues with things story wise, but this is a remake. So I’m cool with it and am interested to see where this is all going to go. However, there are several scenes I really missed and wished to see remade. There was a lot that I felt could’ve been done when going into the Slums. Wish there was more to do. Sometimes I kinda felt very linear when playing, you can’t go anywhere you want. Will be turned back. A character will say something like, “Not there, dummy.” And so on. So that area will be closed off, a minor annoyance for me. But I understand..

The summon cut scenes were great though! But, I really miss riding Chocobo’s. (Sure that’s coming up in part 2, hopefully). I mean, this game is massive. So I understand how some things will be changed or cut for budget reasons etc. But, still sad to know those things were omitted and will never see these scenes from beyond their polygon forms.

Just my issue, but I still want to feel as if I’m playing the original. I don’t have that feeling anymore, but am still glad to have something. Overall, it’s an enjoyable and fun experience, the game is beautiful. Just kinda miss the old one. So I look at this as an alternate universe aside from the original. Expect things to be different! My only gripe is, I wish the whole game was released and not into bits and pieces. Back then, you had three discs and that was pretty much that. Wish it was still that way, but never going to happen. So all in all, a nice experience not quite like the original. I believe that 90’s Squaresoft was lightening in a bottle, quite literally. However this is now and I am really looking forward to the next one.

DLC is a code!! Not on disc. The Yuffie part is not a lengthy marathon of gameplay,a few hours at most. But it does deliver, loved the soundtrack for it.

I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed in the game (it’s the first in a while that I couldn’t put down) but something just felt ‘off’. As some one who’s favorite game of all time is FF7, it’s clear that this is more of a reimagining than a remake. It was good to great, but not epic. I also don’t see how I can possibly be carrying progress over to the next game which makes doing sidequests/extra tasks really pointless. Overall it’s still an amazing game but I think it could’ve been better. They get five stars for not completely botching it though!

A fantastic upgrade to an already beautiful game. The Remake pops off the screen with this 4K upgrade and the Yuffie side story is a great addition to the lore of FF7. Story, characters, gameplay and music are some of the best you’ll find in any videogame. Even if you’re completely new to the series, cannot recommend this game enough.

Square Enix fans know they love their rereleases, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see this rereleased again in the future, but as of now PS5 is the best way to play this amazing game. The Yuffie DLC is short (took me 6 hours), but really fun too.

I bought this thinking the Intergrade Episode would be on the disc. It turns out it’s just a DLC code. Might as well upgrade your PS4 copy for free and download the DLC separately.

I do feel rather ripped off, the extra episode isn’t on the physical edition its just a DLC code which is available on the DLC menu of the ps5 game, you can upgrade from ps4 to ps5 via the DLC and save loads of money, a premium price for this without anything special about it is a rip off, don’t care whatever you say its plain and simple rip off Square I am disappointed in you for scamming your fans.

The game itself Isn’t as good as the original game on the playstation 1, the remake is all about good graphics story nostalgia character designs are all there and good but the battle’s are just annoying, you keep getting interrupted by attacks and lose ATB guage and MP points even if you didn’t execute the move, but the thing is its not really challenging even on hard mode its just annoying it forces you to switch out your characters constantly and this way you can beat anything, the fact I’m forced to keep switching to make the game more annoying just plain out fails. Battles are supposed to be fun not annoying.

Square Failed at making a decent battle mechanic
Square also failed at earning respect for the fans, they should never have released this game on ps5 it should of just been a DLC once you upgrade to a ps5 that alone would sway more people to want and buy a ps5 or xbox series X rather than to re-release it as a standalone game with a DLC code, how dare you Square Enix!

Game like this, and once bag was off the game was already opened, and you can clearly see someone peeled off the security strips. Hope they take return as i doubt the DLC and member points are any good.
