Bought for orphaned kittens and made a great hit with the little ones. The kittens snuggled up to the warm body and were not at all bothered by the heartbeat, which others have said spooked the kittens. Once it has served its purpose I hope that it will be given to a cat charity.

The media could not be loaded.

I am raising five orphaned kittens right now and every time I had to wake them to feed them they would scream so loud that one of them even lost his voice!! It was really heartbreaking to listen to the others crying as they were waiting to be fed. I turned the heartbeat mechanism on and placed it inside the stuffed animal and guess what?? NO CRYING!! I’m actually going to try to raise some money to donate a few of these stuffed animals to local people who foster pets and even some wildlife rehab places could use them!! I know that it is comforting these kittens even when I can’t hold them myself. You won’t regret buying this. I can also honestly see my bigger cats curling up with it too or if you had a single cat or dog/puppy to give them some extra comfort.

Introduction: I intern at a veterinary clinic and was the only person able to care for a neonatal kitten that was found by a busy road. The kitten was freshly born, completely alone, and weighed less than 2oz. Many thought he wouldn’t make it, but my coworkers and I did everything to support his health, which included purchasing this product for him. ..Now I think he loves it more than he loves me!

Contents: The product came with everything described but like another reviewer, I didn’t see anything that hinted at a hidden nipple/bottle insert in the toy. The package came undamaged.

Use: The artificial heartbeat was easy enough to use and I left it on the 24 hour setting so he would never feel alone. I really didn’t think he would take to it as much as he did, but he REALLY DID! Every time I looked into his space, he was snuggling by the cat. The heartbeat is nice because it provides a sound and vibration. I slept closely to the cat and the noise didn’t disturb my sleep. I only used the heat pad once since I have him on a separate heat pad, so I can only comment that the one time I used it it worked well and produced the same amount of heat as my heat pad.

Problems: A little over 1 week after having the heart on 24 hours, it stopped working. Of course, I changed the batteries thinking that was the obvious problem. However, changing the batteries didn’t fix the issue and the heart stopped working. At this point, I thought this purchase was a bust since I felt like I had paid 40 dollars for a stuffed toy. However, looking at how much he just loves the cat, I believe he may have bonded with it despite it not having a heartbeat. He still cuddles with it and it is a staple for moving him between home and clinic. He needs his little buddy and loves it so much. **I have contacted the seller in hopes to replace the heartbeat component. After I have received a replacement, I will update my review!

UPDATE: The company was very easy to reach out to and contact about the broken heartbeat component. I received a replacement last week, which operates perfectly so far, and they also provided more heat packs which I thought was so thoughtful! My little guy is almost 7 weeks old and now he play fights with it all the time. Now that he’s grown, I only use the heartbeat component when he is alone for long periods of time so he doesn’t feel alone.

Sorry in advance for being long-winded with this review! I only wish this info had been available to me, when pondering this $40.00 purchase. Yes, it’s really expensive. But this little cuddle kitty has been a life-saver for my Romeo.

So, here is my sob story…my “almost” 14 year old Domestic Short-Hair cat Romeo is missing his brother Rocco.

Romeo & Rocco, brother’s since birth (pictured together as kitten’s & adult’s), they were together since 4/2004. They groomed, slept, played and loved on each-other their entire lives.

On 1/23/18, I came home @ 10:00pm, both cat’s seemed to be fine, they both ate a late dinner. Rocco (black & white/ cow cat), as normal, he went downstairs to his litter box and then, I heard a horrible flailing noise. I ran to check on him and there was my “seemingly healthy boy” laying on the step (indoors), crying and his back legs were completely paralyzed, and he was having trouble breathing. We rushed him to the emergency vet, but there was no saving him. He was newly (that night) diagnosed with congestive heart failure & that night, a blood clot had released & perched itself just in the right spot, as to cut-off all circulation to both of his back feet (with no positive prognosis). It was the most terrifying and traumatizing thing that I’ve ever gone through. Rocco was in pain, he was in duress, he couldn’t breathe normally…and with no viable treatment’s available, we were forced to put him to sleep that night. It was the absolute hardest decision that I have ever been forced to make. He was my baby! He slept with me every night! He was this crazy little kitty who “LOVED” to be vacuumed…anytime I ran the vacuum, he was right there, wanting to be vacuumed. I only wish, I had video of it.

So, after we came home from the hospital without Rocco that morning, his brother Romeo was missing him so much over the next few days. I thought, what can I do to ease his loneliness, worry, and just plain sadness?? I went online and “Googled”…”Cuddle Kitty” and up came this little stuffed animal on Amazon. It wasn’t inexpensive at almost $40.00 & I’m not rich, however, I thought, if this could in “ANYWAY” ease Romeo’s suffering, I’m all in!

I purchased “Kitty” from Amazon and keep in mind, he/ she’s nothing more than a really soft and well made stuffed animal. The heart-beat…? I really don’t think it made much difference (as other’s have said, it’s rather loud and for me, really unnatural, the manufacturer should quiet it down a bit). I never used the included heat-pack because I placed a heating-pad on my couch for Romeo & “Kitty”…they seemed to like it.

6 week update: Romeo doesn’t sleep with “Kitty” anymore. He actually avoids “Kitty” and that’s fine. If he just needed “Kitty” to get him over the “hump” so be it! I’m guessing other pet-parent’s would agree and do the same. OVERALL: Kitty is a great purchase…you’ve gotta do, what you’ve gotta do, at the time and if this little guy works…GREAT!

I foster bottle baby kittens for Rescued Pets Movement in Houston. I had a single 3 week old kitten and decided to buy the Snuggle Kitty for him. I used both the heart beat and the heating packets. He would frequently lie on the back of the Snuggle Kitty directly above the heart beat. He usually napped touching some part of the Snuggle Kitty. I think it gave him comfort for the first couple of weeks that I had him. Survival rates for bottle babies is not that great, especially when it is a single kitten, so I wanted to help improve his odds. I think this is a great product. The one negative is that there is supposed to be an opening for a bottle. I never found it and the enclosed paperwork only gives information on the heartbeat feature and the heat packs.

The battery ran out on this very quickly (a couple of days?) and the ‘heartbeat’ is a really loud ticking noise (yes, even inside the plush). Shame 🙁

Purchased this for my puppy who was crying at night when put in her crate. As soon as snuggle kitty went in with her with its heartbeat she settled instantly. She’s 4.5 months old now and we have just stopped using the heartbeat but she still snuggles up to it and takes it everywhere.

I’m so glad I decided to buy this item as it’s actually a miracle! Puppy loved it from day one, and cuddles up to it every night quite happily. He doesn’t care that its a cat either which was cheaper than the dog version. The heartbeat stays on for several hours and can be restarted whenever needed, which is night time for us. I haven’t used the heat pad which would be good on a winter’s night when the heating goes off I think. I’m pretty sure he would have whined at night without this, so i am grateful for discovering it and would recommend it to any new puppy owner.

We bought this for our new puppy ( cat version was a lot cheaper than the dog). She takes it everywhere. She is a terrior and has not managed to destroy or chew it yet. The heart beat is good. Can be used with or without. Also comes with a heat pack that we only used once.
