Missing 2.5 expansion that previous models had… if you upgrade use a tool not your fingernails to get the plastic pulled off the bottom. start at the front of laptop and work around the sides the back just hinges off, if you pry the back you will break plastic tabs. the plastic is soft so where I pryed of the back cover there are dents. So be careful.

It says 4.2ghz (processor speed), but it’s really only 2.4ghz. My older 8th gen intel pc is 3.1ghz. So I thought I was upgrading, but it turned out to be a downgrade.

I BOUGHT THIS TO REPLACE A 12 YEAR LAPTOP THAT DIED ON ME. I SHOPPED AROUND AND THIS WAS THE BEST DEAL I FOUND. I ORDER ONLINE FOR IN STORE PICK UP. IT CAME IN A DAY EARLIER THEN ESTIMATE. IT WAS EASY TO SET UP. IT TOOK A WHILE TO RUN ALL THE UPDATES BUT THAT IS NORMAL. I WAS SURPRISED HOW MUCH LIGHTER THIS ONE IS.

This was an excellent purchase for my college student! It is fast enough to run multiple videos, lightweight enough to carry around, and has had a great battery life. Although it is a low-mid priced laptop, six months after purchasing I don’t feel like we already need an upgrade. We added a USB hub because she plugs a lot in, but it was more than adequate as is.

Specs for the money are pretty good, featuring a decent Intel processor with usable integrated graphics, a decent 1080p display for watching content (though I do wish it could be brighter), and decent enough speakers. Battery life is good too for what it is. Keyboard is good to type on too which plenty of travel and a quiet mechanism, would be better supplemented with backlighting but this model doesn’t have that option, but not a dealbreaker by any means. And the fingerprint reader seems accurate and responsive, a nice value-add.
I will say the webcam quality can be better, a less whiny fan sound if at all possible, and perhaps not as flimsy of a chassis design. Granted some things for cost cutting are due to the price of the machine overall, but are worth pointing out.

I liked it well enough that I bought another for my spouse.
Positives:
Very bright screen
Fast boot
SSD drive
Very light
Fingerprint scanner
SD card reader
Priced lower than many Chromebooks (got mine on sale for $400)
Compatible with Win 11
(I haven’t run it on battery, so really don’t know how good)
Negatives:
No ethernet port
Only 3 USB ports
Has crashed a few times (1. “lost” hard drive, 2. something is running driver verify, causing crash)
Hard drive adequate, but small.
Typical for HP: lots of unwanted programs to uninstall
Keyboard a little difficult to see
