This device is helping me to regain my sanity in SoCal. I had been getting red welts all over my ankles and some on my hands and face. I had no idea what the heck was biting me and thought I had bed bugs!!! I bought flea traps / bed bug interceptors / diamateous earth / this beautiful thing.
I ran this device overnight while I was at work and checked it in the morning to find 2 of the tiniest mosquitos I’ve ever seen stuck in the glue. Doing some quick research, it turns out there are two new species of mosquito invading my area (The Aedes Tiger mosquito) and they bite aggressively in the day primarily on the ankles. I can’t put into words how good the feeling is to finally solve a mystery like this.
Things it has caught:
-Aedes Tiger mosquitoes (new species)
-Culex mosquitoes (native species)
-No-See-Ums (Biting midges)
-Indian Meal Moths (our entire neighborhood got infested by these because of a tainted bag of bird seed)
-Gnats
The power requirement is very low 5V/1A (provided by a usb cable + power charger). This means that you could feasibly make it portable and run this off of a power bank. Its also super quiet.
The only downside I can find is that the UV light fluctuates in intensity occasionally which can make it hard to fall asleep with it on within eyesight. Also, the UV light is not as strong of a lure as the CO2 emitted when you exhale so this device is best used to clear out rooms that don’t currently have occupants in them (I.e. if using it in your bedroom, darken the room first and run this for a few hours while you aren’t in the room).
As another poster said, you can buy your own sticky sheets and custom cut out replacement sticky pads for a savings of 50% on buying the brand-name sticky pads.

UPDATE: After leaving my review, and posting a video, the company reached out to me directly. They confirmed that this was not normal operation for the unit. They immediately refunded my money AND shipped a new unit to me free of charge. The new unit is much quieter and does a great job. Seller stands behind their products and was a pleasure to work with!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We developed a serious issue with sink gnats this year. Have done everything we can think of to kill them. This trap is doing a great job catching them. However, It’s not exactly quiet. The unit rattles something awful, see video. If it didn’t make so much noise I’d give it a 5 star.

UV light from Katchy attracts fruit flies at night. But I found that using a bait lured many into the Katchy. I poured apple cider vinegar into glasses and covered the glasses with ankle high nylon stockings. This way the aroma of the vinegar arose from the glasses, but not even the smallest fruit fly could get into the vinegar to feed or reproduce. The aroma from my many glasses got the fruit flies to fly through the top of the Katchys and the fan forces them to the sticky pads in the base of the Katchy. Overkill, yes, but it works.
Some more tips:
Make sure no water is available for fruit flies to drink or breed. 90% of fruit flies are female so one female can lay lots of eggs and create generations of them. And they tend to lay eggs in water. I also believe a lack of drinking water will dehydrate them and shorten their life span, which I have read is ~40 days.
– Cover all drains with stoppers. Including the shower drain (I use Glad Press n Seal). For the toilet bowl I cover the rim with an oversized plastic cutting board.
-I wipe down the sink after each use
-Pour boiling water into drains to kill fruit flies and eggs. I have read that simply running water does not eliminate them.
Replace the Katchy sticky pads every so often and count the dead fruit flies until you are sure that there are no more fruit flies.

We ordered this for our fruit fly infestation and other then catching 1 or 2 per day it’s not working at all, it doesn’t even catch or attract the regular size flys either!! Definitely not worth the $50 we paid and should have used that money for sticky fly traps from the dollar store!!

I purchased this as I was having an issue with gross gnats flying around. It worked amazingly! They were completely gone within a couple of days. I place a small bowl of apple cider vinegar just beside it as bait at night. It has a soft blue light and has a small fan that is not loud at all. Looks like a small speaker on the counter. I just wipe with a clothe to clean it. The sticky bug catcher disk is easy to place and remove. I’d definitely recommend this item if you are having an issue with small house flies !!

This thing WORKS. it takes a few nights, but it will solve your gnat / fruitfly problem. I’ve had it for about a month and haven’t seen a fruit fly in weeks. I probably don’t even need to run it anymore really. I tried the sticky yellow things and tried making my own trap, and they kinda worked but not like this. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

This thing works. I have the unfortunate problem of living in an area where there are a lot of mosquitos. I bought this because there is a cloud of mosquitos outside my door every morning and some of them seem to make their way inside my apartment whenever I open the door. So I really bought this trap out of desperation. I had tried pretty much every (unsuccessful) way to get rid of mosquitos that I could find online, but eventually decided to try this trap. The mosquitos fly toward the UV light and get sucked into the trap from the fan. Once they’re in, they get stuck on the sticky trap part. I love it and am so glad I bought this!
I apologize for the grossness of the picture… the trap works, as you can see. The picture is after about a week and a half of being inside my apartment (yuck, I know).

I was researching several bug pest control products, and wow some of the reviews for those products were obviously fake. It’s pretty sad when you can hire a farm of people to go leave fake reviews to try to boost the score of a product, to sell more of it overall.
Anyway, read some of the reviews for Katchy and many seemed legit, which was a good sign. Seemed a little pricy, but was an amazon prime item so it was truly awful I could send it back, another comforting factor. Figured, why not. Turns out, the thing works.
While it seems terribly simple: a light, a fan, and a sticky pad, the thing does catch bugs. I’ve had it 10 days now, and the attached picture is the second sticky pad so far… It works, and no chemical smells.
My only really two complaints:
1) It’s a little noisy, meaning you can hear it near by, reminds me of a PC fan if that helps paint the picture… But it does have a quiet mode, so maybe this is an unfair complaint. I choose max bug catching power over quiet, so again, maybe I’m being unfair. A perfect 5 star product would have max bug catching power and be silent, IMHO.
2) I’m not a big fan of USB + brick style power cables. Although a lot of things are going that way, seems kludgy and it’s not like I ever plan to plug it into a PC for power (plus newer computers are coming out with USB-C, so couldn’t if I wanted to anyway).
Otherwise, what can I say? It works. In the sea of fake reviews out there, I wanted to at least offer one more real one.

The product is fantastic …I had little flies that were taking over buy in 2 weeks they are under control. This is part of getting rid of flying insects…but I also made sure my drains were all cleaned , no standing water at back of fridge drain tray , moisture on windows dried and I sprayed flying insect raid into drains nightly . I now see 2 flies on new sticky katchy paper after 4 days …yeah! I would recommend this product for sure but make sure you stop the source of the bugs…mine was a couple of plants with fungas in soil and the above mentioned items.

I have a problem with fruit flies as I have lots of indoor plants. I wasn’t really expecting it to work well but it does. I leave it running during the night in a dark room, it works best like this with no one around . I also put a small amount of apple cider vinegar nearby which I read helps to attract them. The photo I have shared shows the amount of flies caught after 3 nights in my living room. I think I’ll be keeping it and hopefully it continues to work well. I also bought it in black which looks nice.
