Alright so i bought these hoping that they would rival my first gen Lifx A19 with 1100lumens. First negative, these govee bulbs only do 800, which they very sneakily dont say in the pictures and descriptions.
Second, while you can group these in the govee home app, you can only sync brightness and colors. Havent even tried the wake up stuff ad my lifx already do that for me and is GREAT at it.
I WISH GOVEE WOULD DO AN APP UPDATE WHERE THESE CAN SYNC WITH THE SAME SCENES!
When i set a “scene” on my lifx it uses ALL the bulbs to set that scene. So if its a Christmas scene, all bulbs would have some kind of green, red, white etc
Ultimately these are pretty good BUT NOT GREAT. You get what you are paying for. Unless govee does an update soon where you can have similar controls to LIFX, i would say you should get the LIFX instead.
A Method –
Bought this specifically and only for music sync. Several people in Q&A said it has music sync, and so do several reviewers. Waited all week for a box with two bulbs to arrive. Spent about 20 aggravating minutes trying to get it to complete the setup process before I realized I needed to swap to a 2.4Ghz wi-fi network in order for the bulb to connect to my router. Fired up the app and… No music sync. I can only assume this is another case of reviews for similar products being made by the same company being mixed together.
I’m sure it’s a nice enough product, it does seem bright, and the small number of basic scenes it comes with seem to work, but music sync is the only thing I care about.

Funcionan muy bien, características interesantes y se conectan con tu asistente virtual. El detalle es que si tu internet es 5G, aunque también tienes el 2.4, cuando se reinicie, suspenda, etc. Volverá a tomar el 5G como red y no podrás usar los focos, hay opciones de alejarte hasta perder la conexión 5G y los configures cuando sólo tengas 2.4. Pero para no estar haciendo el ridículo en la calle configurando tus fotos, al abrir la app, me funciona activar el modo avión, al desactivarse el wi-fi lo vuelves a activar, le das reintentar conectar con el foco y ya podrás usar todas sus características. No es mucho trabajo, pero sí hay activar el modo avión cada vez que lo quieras usar. Espero les ayude

If these worked as advertised, they would be great, but they just don’t – I have them set to a certain color at a certain brightness, and I have it where they wake up at a given time and they are supposed to turn off at a given time.
They wake up every day, that part works. But they don’t wake up to the set brightness or color 99% of the time (they just go to white light at 100%), and they almost never turn off when they are supposed to, I have to turn them off manually almost every single night. I’ve redone the wifi hookups multiple times and worked through the troubleshooting instructions, and they still do that. I’m using them with the app thru my iPhone and am disappointed.
Update 6/25/21 – so I figured out that if you disable the wake up feature, they work perfectly!! Now they turn on and off every day without issue and they go to the setting I picked – correct color and brightness. So no more issues, very happy with them!! Especially because power outages / blips don’t affect functionality. Love them!

Overall, these are pretty cool. The warm to cool lighting is great, easy set up, colors are super vivid. The only wish I have is that the timer on the app works for more than just turning the light on. I originally purchased this to operate similar to a hatch kids light and a gradual light alarm. I had to do some serious programming through Alexa to get it to almost how I’d like, but it was super difficult. I wish I could set a timer and a specific light changed color. Also, figuring out the app, and setting up a scene with multiple bulbs in their app is pretty difficult. So far it seems it only allows for one color with this particular bulb. I think more features are available on the more expensive bulb but it would be so easy to do it through the app if they allowed it. If they improved the usability of the app, I would give 5 stars!

I ordered 2 of these WiFi addressable RGB strips and a 2 pack of the Govee WiFi RGBWW bulbs.
All 4 products are incapable of connecting to the Govee Home app for more than a few seconds. The WiFi strips are advertised to work with 2.4Ghz WiFi but require you to use bluetooth to operate it. The products, when working, seem to require the Govee Home app to be open and connected to your devices in order for alexa to recognize them as turned on.
The products look great. That’s undeniable. And quite frankly I would have given it 4 stars even if the alexa functionality was garbage. Had it come with a remote that is. But given the fact that the RGB strips AND the RGBWW bulbs did not include a remote. I have to give it 1 star. It’s an unusable product. I work with smart products and install residential/commercial networks professionally. I have up to date equipment.
Nothing stays on a stable connection. It’s unusable in its current state because it simply will not connect to the Govee home for more than a few seconds.
If you’re willing to take the risk of them not working for you, buy them. Because they look great. But not being able to use them as intended is absolutely a deal breaker for me.
Govee, fix your software. And remove the “WiFi” advertisement off your products that must be operated with bluetooth.

Love having inexpensive, RGB bulbs that work with Google home and Assistant. The Govee app is excellent, and the integration with Google Assistant/Home is great, but has one issue:
You can get a lovely range of whites and all other colors, but Google’s preset whites don’t play well with the Govee bulbs.
Through Google, bright white is really light blue. Soft white is light pink. White is light lavender. If you go through the Govee app and set the color to soft, bright, or normal white, they look amazing–but if you didn’t know you could set them through the app, you’d regret your purchase.
This is only an issue when I ask Google to set my lights to a certain color, once I want them to be white again, I have to open the app and change it back, or else deal with sickly blue-light-infused white, or pink-tinted white.
If you leave them on a white color set in the Govee app, they remember that color, and using Google to turn them off and on or change the brightness is never an issue.
All in all? If you don’t mind having to go into the app to get nice white colors once you want to change back from other colors (or don’t use other colors much, like I do), these bulbs are great
