On first use, in a drill press, you could see the wobble at the tip the moment the motor was turned on. When this bit engaged the workpiece, it shook the whole drill press. I put a dial indicator on it and it displayed about .030″ of radial runout near the cutting edge. The sharp tip may also be off center, which would potentially make it even worse. Clearly defective and immediately returned. Bought the equivalent Bosch bit and it runs smooth as silk, zero vibration.

This bit is warped or something. It wobbles around like you’d expect an adult toy to do, not a drill bit. I know it isn’t the press or something I’m doing as all my other bits work flawlessly. Kind of disappointing since this is a big name brand who constantly brags about quality.

Great bit for drilling 3/8” holes in wood or acrylic. Everyone should have at least 1 if not 2 of them.

Looking for a 1/2 wood drill bit, I found the Dewalt brad point and works ok. It has a decent finish and seems to need sharpening in some places. You have to add some oil, because the bit rusts.

I’m not a woodworker, but I’m replacing the flat surface of my deck myself. I saw a You Tube video that showed using this on the corner points of a deck board notch (going around the support columns) gives a nice, rounded edge. I thought it would be neater, and easier, to do this and so figured what did I have to loose and got the bit. It works well (it’s a bit intimidating to look at, at first). I’m not a power user, but it does what it says, and it looks darn near indestructible to me (didn’t break and I have it for next spring when I finish the other 1/4 of the remaining long deck boards). Happy with the purchase.

I ruined my standard 1/2 inch drill bit pre-drilling hardie backerboard (I don’t care what they say, those backer-on screws don’t countersink themselves with your average layman’s drill). Bought a few of these so I’d have enough to finish the project and still have one to replace the worn down original. This version with the brad point seems way more durable than the standard bit from the set – I’ve drilled probably twice as many holes with this than I had with the original, and there’s no wearing down in sight.
Will definitely get this brand and style again for any non-wood drilling I need to do in the future.
