I needed a cheap, light pair of hiking pants that would hold up well and look decent. The Amazon basic joggers do the trick. The material is not as “swishy” as 90’s jogger suits and the XL fits me well. I’m 6’1” 235 35-36” waist with an athletic build. A lot of joggers on the market were far to tight in the legs. While a tad more stretch would be welcome, the ankle cuffs with adjustable drawstrings are great. You can’t overload the pockets, the main downside to these pants is that they are meant for light duty- the drawstring comes loose relatively easily if you’re active and too much weight will slowly shift the waist down. At roughly $35 for lounging or day hikes I would buy another pair in a heart beat.

I purchased the mediums and they ran just slightly long, but I honestly don’t hate that. I got them for more of bouldering and scrambling so the extra length could lend well to that. Feel well made!

I’ve really gotten back to nature over the last year, like many people. One of the things that I’ve relearned in the last year is that comfortable hiking clothes is essential. But good hiking gear can be expensive so I am glad Amazon Essentials have moved into this area.
These are lightweight hiking pants. They are very comfortable even for very long hikes. You can wear them for several days if you need. They are well made and very durable. They fit really well. I typically wear a size 36 waist and the large fit perfectly. They dry incredibly quickly when exposed to water. They are also very breathable which prevents excess sweating.
I’ve used these a number of times and love them!

These pants fit exactly as expected, and my favorite part is that the legs aren’t baggy like most hiking pants. The overall silhouette kind of reminds me of a pair of joggers, and I think the product photo pretty well depicts the fit of these pants. Despite the slimmer fit, there’s still enough room underneath to layer a pair of thermals if you wanted to wear these in cooler weather.
The material is exactly what you expect from this kind of “hiking” wear as it is 100% polyester. There are no belt loops, so you do have to rely entirely on the elastic band and the cinching waistband. There are also cinching cuffs at the ankles, which help if the pants are a bit long on you.

Hatte die Hose für einen Hike gekauft. Ist sehr gemütlich und für das Geld echt gut. Einziger Punkt ist, dass sie nicht wasserabweisend ist. Für mich kein Manko, wenn man weiss das man an einem Sommertag wandert. Trage sie aber such gerne so daheim.
