I loved this knife! I am not a chef but I cook a lot and I chop a lot. I like how sharp it’s is and I like how the blade is slightly curved for mincing. This is the best knife I have used. Great value for the price. I almost bought a $98 knife from Macy’s, I’m glad I got this one instead! I highly recommend it!

I used this knife today at my work. I’m a professional meatcutter. It is an awesome knife. SO comfortable in the hand and the steel is awesome: holds a good edge. Simply put it to a steel when I unwrapped it and a few times throughout the day and it remained razor sharp. A beautiful knife. I highly recommend this knife.

These shears are a great addition to your chef tools . They are heavy and solid. In my opinion they are very well made, and very sharp. For cutting poultry, fish or meats in general they worked with little effort even with my wrist limitations. I verify the sharpness before use as I would with a general purpose knife. The metal is strong and overall maintains the blade effectiveness. The lock is great for keeping them shut/safe and they are great for anything in the kitchen! They are rated as dishwasher safe so that is a bonus I wash them by hand and towel dry most of the time out of habit, but its great to have that option.

Was looking for a good quality chinese chef knife to replace my wife’s cheapo version. Looked online and went to my local Ranch 99 (Asian Grocery Store) to check out what was available. Decided from the reviews that the Wallop would be my first choice to try. I wanted a good quality wood handle so it actually look and felt like a chinese cleaver. I also did not want to spend $100+ for a knife that my wife only uses once in a while. I was very pleased on what I got. The wood handle look better than anything at my local store. The blade was super sharp and the finish was outstanding. I have decided to purchase the Chopping version to complete the set even though my wife doesn’t cut bone very often. Figure you never know when you want to be able to cut frozen fish or meat.

I have a love for knives so let me rate if for the first time after one year of use on this knife. I bought this for chopping purpose only. And I have to rate its performance according to its value because you can get a better knife but then you have to pay more (a lot more.) The feel of balance on my hand is acceptable to good, but then this is a very personal preference. This knife, as many have said, is VERY sharp. I always hone it prior or after use, and then store it carefully in its original package after each use. The only negative comment I have is the quality of the wood handle. Even though I oil it with mineral oil a few times over the past year, the wood still dry up and cracked a little close to the very end. I believe the wood itself is not hard enough. It probably would just cost a couple of bucks more to use a better type of wood and I would certainly recommend the manufacturer to do so in their next production batch. Consider the sale price I paid at time of purchase, I would give it a 9.5 star out of 10.

Look at the pictures in the ad and then look at the customer’s pictures in the reviews. Notice a difference? In the ad, the metal coil that is between the blade and the handle is one smooth curve, however, when I received my knife I noticed that it was notched like a lot of other knives. This is unacceptable, partly because I prefer a smooth transition from blade to handle. But mainly it’s unacceptable that they could put up obviously photoshopped pictures of a knife that’s not even theirs! I gave 3 stars because it came sharp. Although the friend was a bit uneven. Just go buy the same knife from TUO, they have the same blades with better handles and coils.

Knife on Amazon described as a flexible fillet knife. It is not flexible. Although well made and hansom for the price, I would not recommend it for the real fisherman. Another disturbing fact is that the image on the Amazon site shows a smooth transition between the blade and bolster, not so, it was photoshopped to remove a very abrupt edge where the blade meets the bolster. Bottom line, the knife is worth the price is would make a good standard boning knife.

Do not be fooled, this is a $10 knife that is made in China. I should have done my research ahead of time. The knife is super thin and the metal is very soft and flexible. I’ll be returning it.

Knife arrived on time. Handle is attractive and fills the hand well. Texture is a nice middle ground that prevents knife from sliding from hand, even when wet. Blade arrived not as sharp as expected. And, not as thick as expected. Blade thickness is similar to a paring knife, rather than a medium size kitchen or butchers knife. However, knife is excellent for my partner, who has small hands and shouldn’t ever handle anything large and sharp, for her own safety and those immediately around her.

This knife is exactly what I was looking for in a knife. A nice weight, and so sharp! Best of all, it is great for left handed people as well. That’s hard to find in a knife. If you’re left handed you know we’re usually on the wrong side of the blade. lol. Perfect. That’s what I’m calling this knife. Now if they will get a nice hefty paring knife to match, I’ll be in knife heaven.

My wife and I were gifted a set of Henckels Twin Signature knives about 15 years ago when we first moved in together. Over the years I broke the smaller knives, but have been overall satisfied with the larger knives. I would do a lazy job of sharpening them, and they were okay.

Then I purchased this set of Wallop knives. I don’t know if those Henckels were ever as sharp as these! My wife commented that she didn’t know that this is how a knife should cut. We are very happy with our purchase. We do not like the block. We will eventually replace it with a different block.

Metal protrudes from wood handle. I will see if a few days near the humidifier fixes that.

Uneven knife edge bevels (one side sharpened more), and also sharpened at an inconsistant angle.

I will humidify then check again the straightness of these knives and their wood handles. Then decide if I fix these or send them back.

    Included poorly translated knife/safety info.

    Probably sending back

I have a full set of Cutco knives, but do not have the Santoku blade. I bought this to replace a 5″ Santoku knife that I had which was cheap and always needed sharpening. First off, I love the handle on this knife. It is a real Pakka wood handle and it is slightly wider/thicker than most handles. The thickness makes it much easier and more comfortable to use. Secondly, the German-made blade is extremely sharp and is made of thick stainless steel. The thickness of the steel makes for a very sharp edge that easily slices through the toughest meats and veggies. I used this knife to cut up a chuck roast for stew and it made the trimming effortless. Third, the balance between the handle and the blade is perfect. it feels comfortable to grip and can be used with only one hand. All in all, this is a well-made, nicely designed knife for a great price. Highly recommend.
