This stuff works similar to alopurinol. If you’re in the middle of a flare, don’t take it yet. It can prolong the attack. Wait for at least a week after your last symptoms go away, then start up. It can trigger another flare, but that is just your body processing the excess uric acid. It shouldn’t be too severe or last very long. Start with one pill daily, get your levels tested, then increase as necessary to keep your levels in the therapudic range.
I am a 31 year old male, 5’-11”, 205 lbs, and I do Crossfit 3-4 times a week. I don’t eat tons of junk or drink tons of beer. All of that and I still get gout in either of my two big toes once or twice a year.
After my last flare was over, I started taking this tart cherry supplement. I was taking one capsule a day for over a month before I had my uric acid levels tested. I would still have twinges of a flare every now and then, but nothing close to an attack. Tested my numbers and was at 7.2 when therapudic Level is closer to 6.0. Started to take two capsules a day. Haven’t had any twinges, in the two weeks since I started, but haven’t had my numbers tested. I’m positive that if I hadn’t been taking this supplement after my last flare subsided, I would definitely have had another flare. This tart cherry extract kept me from flaring.

I cannot believe how well this is working for my knee pain relief! I’ve had surgery on both meniscuses, have some arthritis in both knees, and I have a Baker’s Cyst behind one. That knee has been an issue for going on 2 years now, despite physical therapy and cortisone shots. The only thing that’s helped with the pain is heavy duty use of NSAIDs, which spike my blood pressure. I’ve been trying different supplements, hoping something might help and this is it! Along with vitamin D3, fish oil, and glucosamine, I started taking 2 of these capsules each day. I noticed less pain within 24 hours, but thought maybe it was a fluke. But a week later, I’m still experiencing pain relief and better range of motion with my exercises, which leads me to believe this is helping the inflammation. No side effects so far, and my blood pressure is normal.

I’m in my late sixties – things hurt at my age. And sleeping in one position can give me hip pain; my dream in life is to go to sleep and wake up, first of all, and after that, the dream is to wake up after 7-8 hours, not every two or three because of joint pain. So that addresses the anti-inflammatory issues. Now let’s chat melatonin. Melatonin capsules didn’t do much for me, alone. I decided to try these capsules and add a little magnesium to help with relaxation and leg cramps I get after work on bad days. The result: great sleep, overall. Improved mood from sleeping so well. I take one of these at night, an hour or so before bedtime, along with the Mg. and sometimes a little glass of red wine.

Believe it or not, my orthopedic doc recommended this product for arthritis in my knees. He said my next option would be surgery since the shots weren’t working anymore. I take two capsules in the morning and two at night and am PAIN FREE. He said only to purchase Solgar brand since it has the highest concentration of extract.

This brand works the best for relieving my arthritis pain. I have tried other brands but was not happy with those products. It costs a little more than most cherry products, but it works. You get what you pay for. I wasted money trying to use less expensive brands that gave me no pain relief. I highly recommend it.

My dad has gout and was taking prescription medications which had numerous side effects. Not sure how he started taking tart cherry pills (whether he researched himself or someone told him about it), but since he started taking them, he was able to stop taking the medication and no longer has gout problems.

I use it for my bursitis in my knee. I prefer the capsule to drinking tart cherry juice. I’m usually skeptical when some one recommends a vitamin or mineral, saying it helps this or that. It never has. But I was in so much pain with the swelling and decided to give it try. Three weeks after I started taking 2 a day, one in the morning and one at dinner. The swelling and pain went away. I have not had a problem with my knee since I started taking them for the past 7 years. I can’t guarantee it will work for everyone, but I had nothing to lose by trying it and am so glad I did. Two of my girlfriends are taking it also for their swelling ankles and it works for them.

This was most helpful for my gout. It is the pain of our country. Greed! I want to continue to use this product but, I am extremely saddened by the price increase from $17.00 to $24.00 within the past 6 months. I will buy only one more and will seek out an alternative product. Keep up the good work. Profits before people.
