Product works well, but I do not like the peppermint flavor, I favor the papaya flavor. However, they work just as well.

I normally get a different brand of papaya that also contains chlorophyll. This one does the job but I’m not a big fan of the flavor I didn’t notice anything in the listing that says it’s peppermint flavored. I’m used to just your standard flavored papaya chewables. My family has sworn my papaya enzymes since I was a child and I have gotten several friends hooked on them. They’re just a great way to get the most of your food and relieve stomach issues. These chew up kind of gritty but they dissolve very quickly. While they’re chewable and I don’t really care to sit and wait for them to dissolve, the bottle says that you can also dissolve them in your mouth. They are quite a bit larger than all the papaya supplements I’ve used before. The photo shows the tablet next to a standard size gel capsule. It’s a fairly big, round tablet for these while pretty much every papaya enzyme I’ve had before has been a smaller, flat, oval shape. Maybe that’s why it feels more gritty to me? Because there’s more to chew up, possibly. They seem to function just fine but after this bottle I will return to my chlorophyll ones with the smaller, smoother chewable tab.

This is a good supplement, on par with other types that I’ve tried. I take them after eating anything heavy in fat or dairy and it helps to keep my stomach calm. I take two with a meal, one before and one after. I don’t know if this helps or makes a difference, it’s just how I’ve always taken this type of supplement.

The flavor is more mint than fruit and that’s fine. I’d be ok with it either way. I like both flavors. For those against artificial sweeteners, it contains both mannitol and sorbitol. It also “contains wheat ingredients,” whatever that means. None of that matters to me as I don’t have problems with the sweeteners or wheat. Just something to watch out for if you do.

They are also easy to take. They were not as large as I expected. I think that the price for 400 tablets is quite reasonable. I’ve spent more for less.

Overall, this is a very good digestive supplement that checks all of the right boxes. It’s cost effect, tastes good, and, most importantly, it works.

I have never tried the papaya enzymes with peppermint. This is astounding. I have had severe nausea after surgery. This is the only solution consistently working for me. Thank you for allowing me to gain some dignity and humanity back.

Papaya is the best thing to eat after a meal but it’s not easy to get and when it does show up in the market it can be very expensive. I grew up eating it because I lived in Florida and we grew it. Unfortunately I live in a colder climate now and cannot do that.
I figured I try to supplement to see if it did any good because it’s face it, it’s processed papaya, not fresh papaya.
I’ve been taking it after my cup of coffee in the morning because I often get acid reflux issues. Since I’ve been taking this (3 tablets) for a month I have had no problems.
The taste is really good. It has a fruity mint flavor to it and the label confirmed it.
I think this is definitely worth giving a try. Doesn’t give you the license to eat pizza and 11:00 at night but on a normal diet should do well.

This is a nice twist on the original papaya enzyme supplement from this company. Rather than have a fruity/papaya taste, these chewable tablets have a strong mint taste. It’s more refreshing than the original, plus the tablets are easier to chew.

The original has 45 mg of papain, and 6mg each of amylase and protease. This version has the same amount of papain, but only 3mg each of amylase and protease. However, it adds some useful enzymes: 3mg of bromelain, 94.5mg of cellulase and 1.5mg of lipase. All values are for a serving, which is three tablets for both this and the original version.

For me, there’s been no significant difference in performance between this and the original version. But, while the cost is higher for this version, I prefer it since the mint taste is more appealing than the fruit taste of the original (even though that tastes pretty good as well). I also like that the tablets for this are a bit easier to chew than the original.

Both are 5 star products, and both do a good job for me in assisting with digestion and combating bloat/gas. Very pleased!

I have taken digestive enzymes for years, to help with my digestion. Taking them after a large meal often gets rid of that full feeling and seems to just keep my digestive system healthier.

This formula contains papain, which is a protein-digesting enzyme derived from the papaya plant. It is a powerful enzyme. This formula contains enough of it to help with protein digestion. It also contains some other enzymes which can help digest fats (lipase) and carbohydrates (amylase). However, those amounts are so low that it won’t make much of a difference. That is the main weakness of this formula. For protein digestion, it’s great, but it’s not going to help much with other macronutrients, despite giving that appearance.

So, I definitely take a multi-enzyme with higher amounts of lipase and amylase, and take a few of these to just add some extra benefits.

In terms of quality, American Health is a great brand and owned by Nature’s Bounty, which has great quality control and generally passes independent lab tests.
