Read the reviews and ignored the bad ones. The second day this unit quit connecting on both WiFi and direct modes. One of cameras itself would not audibly reset by holding the pair button like the other one.

Almost impossible to reconnect, when it is working the product is Amazing, it’s just really hard keeping the cameras connected.

The cameras do not pair and the unit does not load onto my phone. It does not work as it should and Vtech customer assistance is terrible! They don’t know what they are doing! I will return the unit and get my money back!

Definitely do not buy
Bought the first set and one of the cameras failed in 24hrs. Replaced the set and one of new cameras failed within 12hrs.
Neither time the failing camera would connect to the internet or monitor. Power light usually goes off after connecting but after failure the LED will not turn off.
The server seems to be down so often it creates anxiety about if the cameras are working.

It just doesn’t work. I didn’t believe other bad reviews and figured people just didn’t know how to get it connected, but it’s a deeply flawed product. Cameras disconnect at random, without regard to distance, and are seemingly only reconnected with luck and multiple restarts. When it decides to work it’s actually a pretty amazing system, but it’s totally unreliable–which is not something a baby monitor can be.

Reading the other reviews, I see that I’m not alone. These units simply do not work. I have exchanged this product four times. FOUR TIMES!! And not one of them worked. Every single time they would connect for a couple of hours, and then poof, no connection. Every time I called the manufacturer they simply said the cameras were defective and to get them replaced. Well after four times I am over this. I have good experiences with VTech in the past, so I expected a lot more – especially at $169. Time to try something else.

I have to agree with other reviews. This product is unreliable. Do not buy. I so badly wanted it to work, because when it is working, it is great (good picture and sound). I tried 2 different units but ultimately had to return each one because the 2nd camera would disconnect for no apparent reason. I then spent well over an hour each time trying to reconnect (total reset to factory settings; with and without wifi; etc…) to no avail. Do NOT purchase this unit.
