I was happy when I first opened this because it was really soft and seemed really warm, which is hard to find! I also didn’t notice any weird smell like another reviewer mentioned.
Unfortunately, the sleepsack is just way too small. I ordered the large size which says that it’s for 18 to 24 months. Out of the bag, it’s the same exact length as our already washed and probably slightly shrunken Burt’s bees 12 to 18-month sleep sack. For us, the Burt’s sleep sack has always been accurately labelled for our average-sized little one’s age. Since I need the next size up from the Burt’s, this sleep sack will be returned. Too bad Moon and Back doesn’t make the sacks longer–I’d definitely keep.
A side note to piggyback off another reviewer: the fill is polyester, not organic (I don’t think there’s such a thing as organic polyester lol). So if you’re looking for fully organic you don’t want this. However the fabric that touches baby’s skin is organic cotton.

Being a FTM I had searched and searched for a perfect wearable blanket for my new born baby. I would say it took me about 3 months to find the one that I felt comfortable and satisfied with. I had bought many blankets and was not at ease to have my baby sleep in one. Boy, am I glad I came across this blanket. I sleep peacefully at night knowing my baby is warm, cozy and not overheating or sweating. This blanket is perfect for cozy San Diego summer weather. I could see myself using it in the fall with layers underneath. It almost feels like a light comforter as it has a bit of weight, which helps my baby sleep 5 hours at night. This blanket is soft and long enough for the baby to grow in. I bought 0-3 month for my 3 month old baby and it still has plenty of room for him to grow. The neck size perfect, it isn’t too big and not too tight like other blankets. The arm holes are not too wide either but rather perfect, it keeps the baby cozy. I will surely be buying the next size when the time comes.

We had been using the Baby Dee Dee sleep sacks, which are on the heavier side and also a 2.5 tog. I then found this HA one (which is several dollars cheaper) and couldn’t be happier, the material is incredibly soft, while also still being on the thicker side and keeping my son warm in his room (that gets too cold because of central air conditioning). I’m shocked at the reviews saying it’s too small. Ours is too big if anything.

This is such soft but lightweight cotton you can feel the quality typical of HA . It’s a great product but why does the zipper lock from the top? It makes it so hard with a baby who hates to get dressed

I inherited an old style Hanna Andersson sleep sack from a relative whose youngest child is at least 6 years older than mine (and has several older children so that sack could be well over a decade old but looks fantastic). I wanted a second one so I looked on the Hanna Andersson website only to find the style changed a bit over the years. I ordered that one and loved it just as much even though it was a bit different. Recently, my son outgrew the two sleep sacks we had, so I took a chance on this one on Amazon since he outgrew the largest size on the Hanna Andersson website and the large here seemed a bit bigger. It’s PERFECT for my extremely tall baby (under a year but needs a 18m-2T in a lot of things so not faulting this company for needing such a large size for such a young baby).
The Moon and Back style is a bit different than the sleep sack on the Hanna Andersson website. This one is lighter and softer which was fine with me since I wanted something a bit lighter for the summer. The Moon and Back large is a bit larger than the traditional Hanna Andersson large. For my baby that’s perfect due to his length though others might find that a deterrent. After testing out the yellow one to see if it would work for my son, I ordered the green one so that we’d have two. I’m only sorry it doesn’t come in a larger size than 18m-2T because the Hanna Andersson sleep sacks have worked the best for my baby and he’ll most likely outgrow this size before he outgrows the need for sleep sacks.

When this came in the mail, I put it in the gentle cycle with other light colored clothing. I let it air dry and it is faded and looks like it’s been worn for weeks. It’s brand new and my daughter has never even worn it. Asking for a refund. I guess moon and Back isn’t the same quality as Hanna Andersson.

I made the rookie mistake of washing this before checking the size against my 9 month old. This thing is as small as the Halos he is growing out of. This is one size category smaller than is stated. My son is only 19 lbs and about 29”. Meanwhile, the two Burt’s Bees I got at the same time cost together less than the Moon and Back / Hanna Anderson alone. I’m annoyed enough at myself for rendering it non-returnable, but it would be moot if the sizing was right in the first place. This will be my last purchase from this brand.

I really like the thickness and material of this sleep sac. It seems cozy for winter without being too heavy. My only concern is that it seems short in length so I’m not sure how long it will last before my baby’s feet are pushing against the bottom

I would not recommend this, there are much better options. The fabric quality doesn’t feel great and it fits snug. My baby is 7 months and he’s 75th percentile for height, 50th percentile for weight. There’s no way this will fit until he’s 18 months. The inverted zipper annoys me because 1) do you know how hard it is to thread the end of a zipper with a piece of fabric in the way AND a baby thrashing and rolling away from you…and 2) the cost to add another zipper is soooo cheap. Double zippers are vastly superior. If your baby is rolling or in the alligator stage you are going to be annoyed by inverted zippers especially at 3am diaper changes.
Lastly, I bought this because one of the customer questions asked about TOG and it was mentioned that this would be 2.5 TOG if you rated in TOG (ps- why don’t you have tog ratings?!). This does not appear to provide any more warmth than our 1.0 TOG sleep sack.

I have only washed once so far, fabric seems to be very delicate and fragile but very nice and soft for my son! I would recommend it!

Just a heads up, the stripes on this sleep sack are hot pink , not coral ( in the pictures the stripes look orange) and the zipper zips downwards. The material is nice, although not quite as padded as I had expected. I wanted to use it for fall and winter but i dont think it will be warm enough without an extra blanket or two on top. I will be returning this sack as it didn’t meet my expectations.

Love these for my 5 month old baby-ordered 2. They were on sale when I added them to my cart, but I fell asleep before ordering…. I ended up getting them the next day full price and it was worth it! Our sleep situation before was the magic Merlin suit and wanted something of a similar fluff level for the winter. This is soft, warm, and easy to put on. I have noticed it shrink lengthwise a bit in the dryer, but pretty easy to stretch back and we still have room. It can be loose around the neck, but if you pull it down when you put it on the baby it is fine. Would recommend!
