I had the 3M 17″ gold filter/screen protector and was very happy with it. So when I got a 23″ monitor I bought the matching item for my now larger screen. These gold filters are excellent! I have fairly low vision and I feel they actually make the letters and images on the screen sharper. However, with the wider screen the “privacy” part is lacking. Naturally, you’d expect the range of visibility to be larger than with the 17″ screen, but when standing about 4 feet back from my monitor there’s a range of about 3 feet either way in which the objects on my monitor can very clearly be seen. To summarize, this unit is excellent as a filter but not great for privacy protection when used with wide-screen monitors.. especially considering the high price.

I bought one of these for my 17″ monitor and I HATED it. One of my employees wanted one as well so I bought the 19″ for him. For some reason it works wonderfully for him! Maybe it was the angle of the screen? On my monitor it cast a bad gold glow over everything but on his it is clear. I have an older monitor so maybe just the pitch of the glass does not allow for this type of screen. Anyway, he loves it and it looks cool too. Bummed I can’t use it too.

Il prodotto è veramente ben fatto e può essere utilizzato sia dal lato dorato che dal lato scuro a seconda che si desideri l’effetto riflesso oppure l’oscurazione del monitor. Non presenta problemi all’utilizzatore del monitor sul quale viene posto perchè ha un discreto angolo di visuale e porta via solo poca luminosità. In compenso chi è a fianco o sopra non riuscirà a vedere il contenuto. Con il lato che riflette inoltre vi accorgerete se qualcuno si è avvicinato. In realtà spesso desta curiosità e può capitare che vi chiedano spiegazioni su questa pellicola.
Io ho comprato una pellicola sovradimensionata per dove l’ho applicato ma con un cutter ho potuto ritagliarlo senza difficoltà e senza che si rovinino i bordi.

Aside from it being super expensive as compared to most I love the look and the filtering of this privacy filter. It fit my monitor perfectly. The cheaper one I purchased for my second monitor had to be cut down to size to fit the exact same model of monitor.

Best privacy screen out there. This is one of the higher priced screens as well. I have two (one for laptop and another for another monitor). Take it off when you want, put it back on when you want it. No more wondering eyes on my monitor anymore. Great for HR use or someone who deals with confidential data. I would buy it all over again.

The privacy filter is very good, but it looks like a mirror, so, in fact protects you form the shoulder surf, but it is not comfortable, because we see one’s face, clothes, and background lights. I don’t like or recommend it. If you want to buy a privacy filter choose the non gold. People around me bought the standard one (PF17.0) and experienced no problems with reflections, besides it’s cheaper.

Very disappointed, especially with such an expensive product. The privacy aspect of this screen is awesome. However, any light what-so-ever behind me now reflects off the screen. Some reviewers mention that one side is matte…. this is incorrect. Not of the Gold option that is. The other side is merely a black version of the gold side, but still reflects just as much. Very disappointed!!

This is by far the best privacy filter I have used to date. and I have purchased a lot of them for our office. I almost always have highly sensitive information on my screens, and the regular filters can still allow people to see more than I would like. The gold ones make it almost virtually impossible unless you are seated directly in front of the screen. I really wish 3M would make these in more sizes than they currently offer, as I use three monitors. I do have a window right behind me and this protector puts off major reflection would could be bothersome to some people, but I am willing to overlook it in exchange for actual privacy.
Please make in more size, 3M! Would really like these for 21, 23, and 24 inch screens. Will not use other brands, as 3M has excellent service and will send you replacement sticky tabs, which I find invaluable. Do not hesitate to purchase this filter if you are wanting privacy.

I have two monitors with a Gold Privacy Filter on each and it doesn’t block as well as the black ones do but they work good enough for me.
People standing right behind me or maybe a little to the side can still see my screen but if I have something confidential, I move over to my left screen where no one can see; where the black screens, you have to be right in the center of each monitor to see which has better privacy but also you can’t see unless you are right in the center and eye level as well. Plus it makes everything look much darker and you can’t really see the true colors where these Gold screens don’t.
I love these and I get so many compliments from people that pass by and notice the cool looking iridescent screens from the side. –I hope my photos help.

We have purchased a lot (a minimum of 25) of these filters for monitors in our office. I recently ordered 5 of these. In comparison to the ones that I have had in the past, the privacy doesn’t seem to be as good as it used to be.
Of greater concern, is the quality. As noted in the picture attached, the two layers that seem to be pressed together, have separated. I’ve only had these two weeks. I’ve also had to use four adhesion strips per filter, whereas in the past, I only had to use two of them on the sides, and it was sufficient. These ones do not seem to be as sticky. I’m using Dell monitors, just as before.
Not sure if I should reach out to Amazon or 3M to replace the filter.
