Gone through 2 of these, one of them had a broken slat in the back and the other one had backlight clouding on the down right corner. For the price I expect a better quality control.
Display is nice tho, good color accuracy and great for gaming.

This thing far exceeded my expectations, for sure. I was hesitant to get this monitor and had originally decided on the ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q. It was hard to find many reviews on this monitor and I was afraid to gamble, figured the safe bet would be one of the more popular choices in this category. I can say that I’m very happy with my purchase and don’t regret it one bit. One of the biggest deciding factors was the HDR on this monitor. I’ve never seen true HDR 10, so my expectations were low, but so far I’m impressed and it has made my games look amazing.
I’m also impressed with the performance of my GTX 1080 using Raptor 27. I thought for sure that it would struggle, considering I’m jumping to 1440p and running HDR. I average around 80-100 fps in most games, so not quite my desired 144hz, but with GSYNC enabled, it runs butter smooth and will work just fine until Nvidia drops their next series. I’ve been running an ASUS VG248Q TN panel for several years and was afraid there would be a noticeable delay with the Raptor. I’ve tested a plethora of games on this monitor, many different types of games, and can say for certain that there is no noticeable input lag for me.
The build quality is phenomenal and more than explains the price difference compared to competing brands, which was something that was hard to swallow when purchasing. My doubts were washed away as soon as I pulled it out of the box and I fully understand the price difference now. I’ve never seen a monitor with this type of build quality and it reminds me of an Apple product more than anything else. Most monitors have a cheap plastic appearance and just feel like they would break so easily. They usually have some type of wobble or play and generally there’s nothing too exciting about the build quality. This is just one of many ways the Raptor shines.
I have no dead pixels or any type of defects. As far as ghosting and overshoot, I notice none and I really couldn’t ask for it to run any smoother. I’ve been gaming on PC for well over over 25 years; I’m very picky when it comes to performance/immersion and this monitor just adds to the experience tenfold. Playing a game like Sea of Thieves maxed out with HDR enabled is a sight to see and has brought new life to even older games.
I’ve spent over 5k on my complete setup and this monitor is by far my favorite thing I own now. I plan on using this monitor for years to come and I’m going to love every minute while looking at this beauty. If you’re hesitant to buy this and think it’s a laugh, then the joke’s on you…this monitor is amazing and you will not regret your purchase.

Mieux qu’espéré, aucun backlight bleed visible!

Unfortunately, I’ll be returning this one. Here’s what I liked, and what I didn’t:
Pros
-Fantastic build quality! The aluminum stand is extremely thick, and the fabric on the back is an awesome touch. Very different, and VERY nice. Definitely what I would call Apple-quality build level here.
– Great color
– Razer Synapse is very nice, if you’re into that sort of thing!
– Controls are easy to use, and menus are clear
– Tons of cables included!
– 144Hz is great, in games, just in the OS, etc. Overall much smoother – the kind of thing you don’t realize you’ll notice, until you try to go back.
Cons
– If you want to control the base through Razer Synapse, or use the rest of the USB ports for things that connect to your PC for data (headset, etc), it means that you have to use USB-C for video. That seems to be the only way it works, and that’s supported by the documentation that comes with it. The big CON to this, is that you have two choices: You can have 144Hz and USB 2.0 speeds, or you can have 60Hz and USB 3.0 speeds…. Not possible to have both.
– SEVERE BACKLIGHT HYSTERESIS (flicker) in HDR mode. HDR was one of the major reasons I bought this monitor. Unfortunately, when in HDR mode, the backlight struggles to keep up. It’s strange – doing simple things like scrolling through pictures on this thing, when in HDR mode, is painful. It takes several seconds for the backlight to move properly from a dark picture, to a light one – and the picture looks like garbage until it catches up. I’ve owned other HDR monitors before, and I’ve never seen this issue before. The other HDR monitor I just received works perfectly, as expected, so it is just this monitor.
– ZERO backlight adjustment in HDR mode. It’s grayed out, so you can’t adjust brightness. At the brightness this monitor can produce, it is, if you can get past the hysteresis, unusable in the dark.
– Contrast isn’t very good for the price. I’ve had other monitors in this price range and above – monitors that are also IPS, but not high-refresh monitors – that look much, much better in dark scenes.
I really wanted to love this monitor, but unfortunately, it’s just terrible at some of the things I really wanted it to be great at. Quite a shame, but that’s just how things go sometimes! Hopefully they will bring out a new version soon, and address some of these downfalls. Until then, I guess I’ll try a Samsung Odyssey G7, or just drop the bundle of money on an Acer X27.
