A nice professional looking high quality watch by Bulova with a sweeping second hand which gives the impression of an automatic. Purchased on a Black Friday sale for $150 which was a steal at that price. Do not waste money on low quality fashion brand watches like MVMT or Vincerio just wait for real brands to have good sales.

This watch was a birthday “gift” to myself replacing a similar Seiko watch that had lasted for 30 years. Great watch for business wear and good value for the money until it failed two months out of warranty. Original battery, supposed to be good for about five years, failed at three years and six weeks. When jeweler put in a new battery, nothing happened. Watch was not abused and worn in office environment. I called Bulova who said send it in and they’d see what they can do. For now I am wearing a $30 Timex I got at Target. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking as they say.
UPDATE: Lesson – persistence pays. After shipping the watch to Bulova, based on a telephone call that the watch would be covered under warranty, I got an email a few weeks later with an invoice for $106 for “repairs.” I called Bulova and after some polite back and forth, and a check with a manager, I got a second email that the warranty would be honored after all. I don’t have the watch back yet so we’re going to have to see what condition it is in when I get it. Stay tuned. And yes, the Timex is still ticking.
UPDATE 2: Bulova honored the warranty. After agreeing to fix the watch under warranty, it had basically bricked itself electronically, the firm returned the watch a few weeks later and it has run just fine. BTW: I still have the Timex.

I’ve only had the watch for 24 hours so I’ll probably write an update after I wear it more. Initially, it seems ‘ok’. The watch is nice looking but I could have used a bit less polished surfaces and more brushed, especially on the sides. The band is not a high quality leather and feels cheap. I’m not a fan of the crocodile pattern and was planning on switching it out anyway but I didn’t buy this for the strap. The sweeping second hand is fantastic and I love the Precisionist movement. This is my first Bulova and the quality seems very good.
The two biggest issues I have so far: 1) The lume is terrible! There is just a drop on each of the hands and even less on the hour markers. Exposing it to a bright flashlight for 15 seconds almost doesn’t do anything. Either use a better formula or don’t bother. 2) The hands are skeleton with the aforementioned ‘lume’ on the tips but they are REALLY hard to tell the time in low light as they almost disappear. I knew they had that look when purchasing so I’ll see if it’s a deal breaker over the next few days or if I need to return it. I don’t want to have to look at the face for several seconds just to locate the hand positions. That could be a personal preference but telling the time easily is as important as the styling. I have seen another model that has a black face and the hands are solid but I really wanted the blue face so time will tell.

I was looking for a Precisionist model with a leather strap, and this one caught my eye. Compared to the other precisionists I own, this one is a bit smaller at about 44mm, which is honestly the perfect size for my wrist. The rose gold tone is lovely and the strap feels very well made. Also..this price! Absolutely fantastic. See my photos!

Lovely watch with interesting dial and Bulova’s legendary accutron movement.
Although there is lume on the hands and around the edge of the dial it’s poor, indeed I really don’t know why they bothered if that’s all they could manage, still it’s supposed to be a dress watch rather than a tool.

Love the sweeping seconds hand. The dial is a much deeper blue than the pictures on amazon would suggest. Really hard to go back to the other quartz watches in my collection.
Be warned that the watch does wear much larger than you might expect. 50 mm lug to lug. It just BARELY fits my wrists at 6.75 inches (in my opinion, some might disagree and say that it does not).

Besides being a GORGEOUS watch, its timekeeping ability is spot-on! I was not thrilled with the leather (faux crocodile) band. But when I swapped the leather out with a two-tone “jubilee” bracelet, this sub-200 dollar watch now looks like a $300 to $500 watch in my opinion. But do keep in mind that given its “generous” lug-to-lug distance, you may have a challenge fitting an aftermarket bracelet if you have relatively skinny wrists (such as my own). And though I am not sure that my horology friends would agree with me, this watch also has some horological significance in that Bulova invented the “Accutron” movement on which their “Precisionist” movement in this watch is based. And the “sweep” (near-sweep) second hand is not only unique in such a precision timepiece (at least anywhere near this price point), it is also a testament to its legacy as a true descendent of the Accutron.

Leather strap stiff.

This is a seriously shiny, dressy watch. Jumps out at you. The casing is highly polished, so much so it concerns me that it might show scratches in time, same goes the glass which is mineral and not Sapphire. The leather strap is really stiff and feels a little cheap but probably comparable for this price class.
Love the Precisionist movement, the seconds hand sweeps is soo smooth, even more than my Hamilton mechanical watch.
Overall, great value for the money for a dressy watch out to dinner or even a more professional work environment.

Initial review upon arrival is positive. The blue face is darker depending on lighting condition. Though it is darker than the picture shown, I do like it as appose to others that do not. Seeing it under a lamp or going outside, the face of it is lighter. As others have stated the strap is firm, but I believe this will work out to be softer as my other watch bands have. I set my time piece to Colorado’s atomic clock, so I’ll report back in a day or so to let you know if the timing is accurate.
I have an Orient Bambino watch, but I got tired of correcting the time every week or so and this one here is reported to be accurate to a second or two each year. Go figure. Paid about the same.
Very important folks. The wrist band is not, I repeat, not 20mm. It’s 22mm. As another owner stated when he measured this it was actually 22 mm. I bought a wristband with 20mm and it did not fit. I notified Amazon about this and hope they correct the issue. I have now since purchased a 22 mm wristband and it does fit perfectly.
