A beautiful looking timepiece from Seiko. It feels solid in the wrist and keeps good time (mine loses about a minute over 2 days). I love the date magnifying window. Note: I had to read the manual to ensure how to set the date correctly: First, pull crown out to first stop and set date to the day BEFORE the date, then pull out to second stop and wind hands forward to the correct time – this ensures the date changes at midnight not noon). For subsequent date changes for months under 31 days you simply pull the crown out to first stop and advance the date, that’s all there is to it. I like the hybrid leather/metal bracelet, too – adjust this once and you’re done. Overall, a classy timepiece

I have owned two very expensive Rolex watches in my lifetime, and neither measured up to the quality and wearability in any respect with the Seiko. The appearance, wearability, readability and overall craftsmanship of this watch is superior to any watch I have ever owned. In my opinion the Seiko mechanical automatic movement should be rated amongst the highest in the industry.

I was very much on the fence with this piece before I bought it. The review videos spoke to the similarlities to the SARB033 in case and styling with a couple of small changes – essentially you are losing saphire crystal and a shorter power reserve. For the average collector or enthusiast this isn’t really that big of a deal. I have a number of mineral crystal dials and have never had an issue wth scratches etc. I decided to jump on this and see what it acually looked like in person. Very happy I did.
Straight out of the box this piece exudes a feeling and look of simple, clean, versatile class. The sport/dress style is relatively new for me as I have typically beein driven to the stereotypical divers, pilot and more robust chronographs but I’ve been wonderflly surprised that this watch goes with literally just about anything short of sweats.
The dial is absolutely gorgeous and almost comes out as a rich matted black clay colour in the light. The dauphine hands are beautiful and catch light everywhere – constanty drawing your eye back to the dial. The date wheel is the same colour as the dial – big pro for me and frustratingly not as common as you’d think. The only thing I would criticize would be that the bracelet is not great – Seiko is rarely known for spending any real time in their stock bracelets/straps but easily swapped out and this will look incredidly sharp on a variety of styled straps dressing it up or down. Super comfortabke on the wrist.
Bottom line, it feels a little expensive for what it is as far as features and in combination with the bracelet but once you get it you’ll find yourself going back to it over and over again. It’s too beautiful to ignore.

This watch runs about one minute slow each week. I have to adjust each every week to stay on time. I would of thought for the money they want for this watch it should keep better time.

I have several automatic watches and decided to splurge a bit this year. Saw this on black Friday and decided to check it out. If I didn’t like it, I’d return it. When the watch came in, the watch cast some spell on me. I couldn’t let it go and so I decided to keep it. I’ve been wearing it every day since and it’s held its time well!
Gorgeous watch! I would recommend this watch for people interested in basic, automatic watches.

I like it, was looking for something classic and this watch is a good daily and first mechanical watch for the obligatory middle-age watch bender. I’m in it more for the engineering than the prestige, so I was drawn to Seiko for its deep reputation for quality and amazing value. Yes, Seikos are coming up in price, yes, I want a Seiko Willard re-issue for a sporty watch, but no, I’m not ready to spend $1100 on a watch, and this model still hits hard in the value range, especially on Black Friday. Fine for work or casual certainly for as dressy as I ever get in a normal year, the green dial is different but quite subtle as it’s pretty dark, the green is only obvious in bright light. I take it off for yard work and wrenching – the band is too fancy to sweat in. Love the deployment clasp and the hardlex crystal seems fine – I do appreciate the cyclops date window, it’s like my readers are on the watch so I can read the date without them. Movement’s great, loses less than 2 sec/day, and since I’m still fidgeting with it, the hacking/hand wind feature means I wind it every night, so I don’t really know if the self winding does the trick by itself. Anyway, a good buy, I think it’s a keeper.

For a JDM Seiko I really like it – Value to money? really depends on who you are as a watch enthusiast – I really LOVE this dial – Depending on lighting it looks black or deep blue but when the light hits; it just comes to life in the most gorgeous Green – The cyclops is definitely an afterthought in my opinion – Case finish is not what I expected; brushed lugs but polished fixes bezel – it’s a good looking contrast but for this look I would prefer consistent finish – The leather strap is just OK if not bad/stiff; I even tried conditioning it to make is supple but not much changed – I’ve had my watch for about a few weeks almost a month now – My unit keeps time very well and I DO LOVE the look – I was just expecting a bit more from this purchase – still though no deal breakers for me here – It really just depends on preferences

Every ten years I buy a watch, but I am not a watch guy at all, in fact, I don’t want any jewelry. However, this brown Seiko is beautiful and a quality piece. I’m very happy with this purchase, for the few times a month that I might wear it. Just for thoughts, I recently bought an apple SE, but it’s still in the box, I have since worn the Seiko 2 times. The SE will primarily be for fitness counting, but if you were to compare the looks, feel, and smoothness, the Seiko blows many watches out of the park. I was actually determined to buy a Grand Seiko, but this basic brown unit really serves the purpose that I’m looking for. When I was younger, I always wanted a Tag or possibly even a Rolex, yes, completely different demographics. But as both of those require maintenance and will eventually break, this Seiko will last forever, IMO.

Great watch, keeps time perfectly. The case dings and scratches a bit too much. One week in and there are permanate marks.

Strong value for money. Dial is magnificent.
That said: Seiko please produce YouTube videos showing purchasers how to adjust links on a stainless steel watch. You’ve left it to internet watch dorks. An official video for specific watches would be appreciated. You put it into the market, give official guidance. You will be better off for doing so.
I do wear this watch daily for business. Strong entry.
