This is a Japanese movement with 21 jewels that is an amazing watch for anyone looking to get into automatic watches. Extremely beautiful classic style watch that gets compliments all the time.
People have commented on the mediocre quality of the watch strap but I think this an exaggeration. The strap feels nice and i recommend purchasing additional color crocodile leather straps from iStrap since this watch looks good with both blue and black straps too!
Very classy, great automatic, goes well with just about every occasion.

This is a solid entry-level automatic watch with a reliable Miyota 82S0 movement (open heart design). Miyota is a Japanese manufacturer known for their quality movements, which have earned a reputation as “workhorses”. Bulova has added several nice touches to the watch itself. The balance spring has been rotated from a 7 o’clock position as Miyota manufactures it to the 6 o’clock. This makes the open heart nice and centered. The opening has a polished stainless steel ring around it which blends in really nicely with the case and tick marks. The dial itself has a really attractive matte texture which enhances the appearance of quality.
Overall, I’m really happy with the purchase. This is starter watch for me, and I wanted something that was reliable and visually engaging. The Miyota movement and open heart design check these boxes.

Beautiful watch and keeps time very well as long as it is kept wound. Perfect everyday watch for work. My only complaint is that when you are adjusting the time the seconds hand does not stop so there is no way to be exactly synced up with other clocks. You will always be a few seconds off

I’ve had this watch for a couple of weeks now and I’m very happy with the quality. I enjoy being able to see it operate through the small window on the front, and to be able to see the inertial winding mechanism through the transparent back. It has a very elegant and understated look that gives the impression of a more expensive timepiece. I got tired of my Apple watch telling me what to do, as well as the constant recharging, and I don’t regret at all going back in time with this watch. The self-winding feature really does work; just wear it and it will keep going.

I ordered this because I really like the Bulova company and the quality that goes into their timepieces. I prefer the automatic self-winding watches that rely on mechanical gears, with jewels to reduce friction, and no batteries to run down and change. So far this has been very accurate for me, keeping the right time within about 10 to 15 seconds per day.
This particular watch is stainless steel and black with a quality leather watchband and a classic look. It radiates quality without appearing ostentatious. It is just what I need when I’m at work. I still like to have a watch on my wrist so I’m not pulling my phone out of my pocket whenever I need to check the time.
The watch gears and movement can be viewed from the transparent backing, and there is a small round understated window on the face of the watch as well. I specifically purchased this style of Bulova watch because I wanted the classic Bulova tuning fork logo at the 12:00 position, which is not present universally on all Bulova watches.
This watch makes a great gift for any executive types in the family or circle of friends, especially those persons that are hard to shop for. I also recommend obtaining a mechanical rotating watch winder for automatic watches, many kinds are available here on Amazon. This keeps the watch from running down if you don’t use it for a few days.
Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase, it is a good value for an elegant watch. Highly recommended.

This was my first Bulova watch, but certainly won’t be my last!
Design:
This thing is beautiful, like, drop dead gorgeous. The smoke-gray dial and gold indexes are an unusual color choice that you don’t see on many watches, but it works surprisingly well. This is also one of the few watches to do open-heart correctly, by centering it at 6 and keeping the rest of the dial simple so as not to distract from the heart itself!
Construction:
The movement is obviously good quality being Bulova, and the case is well constructed. I would have really liked to see a sapphire crystal, but $300 seems to be about the break point where some watches decide to upgrade to sapphire and some don’t, so it’s understandable. At $500+ yeah I would absolutely demand sapphire and nothing less, but a $300 watch can go either way.
Strap:
It’s wearable, but obviously in this price range, the strap is the first item on the cost cutting list, so don’t expect ultra luxury. Thankfully though straps are easy to replace, so just buy one of you own if you really want.

This is a amazing looking watch, like everyone else has said the pictures don’t do it justice it really does look Great. For the price $213 after shipping it was a great watch.
I was a little weary buying it at first because all the other reviews were from people that got it for free however it is well worth it. Another reviewer said the watch is a 27 jewel watch but it is actually only 21 jewel.
The reason it got 4 starts instead of 5 is due to the band being a little weird to take on and off but it’s really easy once you get used to it.
Edit: a word

This is a beautiful dress watch that actually gets compliments from people, in contrast to most other watches. It’s got a very simple design with nice gold accents, that nice Bulova 12-o’clock tuning fork (which was something I wanted) and is great for everyday business wear as well as formalwear, with its low profile. The open heart amazes non-watch people and new enthusiasts and is a nice touch. The loom is just single dots at each hour marker and two at the 12-o’clock and is overall less-than-impressive, but being a dress watch, you shouldn’t really be expecting much, anyway, so I definitely wouldn’t dock any points for that. The movement is a fairly basic Miyota 82S0 that does the job, but it’s definitely not work the full price tag. I got it on sale for under-$200 CAD, which is probably the sweet spot for this watch, in terms of price.
The original price for most people is the reason I rated it 4 stars, but if you can get it with a substantial sale (on Black Friday, for example), then it’s a 5-star watch, for sure.

The watch itself is pretty nice and elegant.
However, this might be the worst package I’ve ever seen. Even cheap 10$ watches might come in a better packaging than the one I just received.
I’d rather pay a few bucks more and have a box which the hinge won’t break on the second opening (you can see in one of the photos that the right hinge is not closing properly anymore and it’s puncturing through the fabric).
It’s a shame considering the price of the watch. Anyway, I’ll buy a winding case soon, so I’ll probably throw this box away.

Fantastic looking watch. Curved glass and it fits perfect.

PROS:
– Excellent entry addition to automatic watches.
– Great case design and color contrast on the dial.
– “Open heart” automatic design is very eye catching and fascinating to look at.
– A dress watch that can be worn in any occasion.
– Power reserve of 40 hours.
– The Aerojet color of the dial gives the watch an overall subdued flashy look under bright lights.
– Great build quality for the price. It feels and looks more expensive than it is.
CONS: (What people complain about.)
– “The bracelet is kind of cheap” (Personally i bought a leather butterfly clasp strap for 25$ and swapped it, plenty of options on amazon if thats an issue for you.)
– “The presentation box it comes with is cheap feeling.”
(If you are going to buy an automatic watch I recommend you keep it in a winding watch case. The quality of the box it comes in is irrelevant. Keep the papers and keep the watch wound in an appropriate watch case.)
