Please don’t waste your money on this bike. I never write negative reviews, but this item deserved a poor review. Purchased just over one year ago for my 2.5y/o daughter. The training wheels are so short that she wobbles back and forth, the whole thing rattles so loud and the peddles fall off when she’s riding. To top it all off the parent steering mechanism failed after about 6 months of minimal use. Schwinn should be ashamed…expected so much better. Please don’t waste you money! Any positive review came from someone who has not actually used this piece of junk yet.

I purchased this bike for my 2 year old Grandson. The cable that controls the steering handle broke by the second use. We could heat a crackling sound. I call Schwinn and they sent a replacement part. It took some time to replace the cable because it was originally preinstalled on the bike but we finally got it on. Only to have it break within minutes. Schwinn then replaced the bike and the same thung happened with the new bike by the 3rd use.

It looks like a really great product but it would have been nice to know the wheel size rating before I purchased the product because my son falls in the age range but not the height suggestion. I will need to return it and hope to find an identical bike in the right size.

The box came damaged and looks like it was damaged when it was shipped to the distribution but luckily nothing inside was damaged.
The white rubber was clearly new, however it was discolored brown. The water bottle was similarly discolored and went right into the trash.
The assembly was clearly never tried by the engineer designing it. You need different size wrenches for all the components to be installed. The bell is similarly poorly designed and clearly “universal”. It was installed where you would have to use your pointer finger to pull it back and needed to be switched for the left thumb operation. In either case, the hand grip interfers with the operation. The handle bar is only one position, so I cannot tilt it back closer to my daughter, and although she fits on the bike she cant hold both handles when making a tight turn.
On top of all of that, the control handle was positioned to one side (as if making a turn) when the bike was pointing straight. It required taking apart the box underneath and resetting the cables.
After all the assembly, the tires still needed air.
If there was a few things changed it would be a great bike.

This training bike has surpassed my expectations! It seems like everything for this age group has plastic wheels, or has trainers that aren’t removable. If they do have real wheels with removable trainers, they’re too big for toddlers, and don’t have a parent handle. Well this little Schwinn is not only adorable, but it ticks every box for us. Our small 3 year old can reach the pedals, with no problem. After a week, he was already able to pedal himself, and knew how to backbreak! There’s no handlebar break here, which is great. My two older kids had a hard time breaking the habit of using those and backpedaling instead. The parent handle is great for teaching him to steer himself, as we ride he gets a natural feel for steering. We aren’t ready to take the training wheels off yet, but I imagine the parent handle helps with this too. No running alongside them, bent over, trying not to let them fall. My 3 year old loves the bell, and pretends it’s his fire truck alarm! I definitely recommend this over the plastic wheeled tricycle types, this will carry you through more learning phases.

I was skeptical to buy this bike, because I wasn’t sure how it would turn. We previously had a three in one trike that did not steer or ride well. I went ahead and decided to buy this for my almost 2 year old daughter. I’m so glad I did. It rides so smoothly, and turns like a dream. She absolutely loves it, and thinks she’s a big girl, even though she can’t pedal. I highly recommend this bike. Also the assembly was easy.

We bought this bike for our three year old after shopping around for a while. We didn’t want a balance bike that he couldn’t pedal, but most of the push bikes that we’ve seen were for much smaller kids. This is the perfect size for him. It says ages 2-4, but personally I think it’s more of a 3-5 age range bike. The handle is removable, as well as the training wheels so this bike will take your child through three stages of learning to ride. The handle very easily steers the bike. My son loves to ring the little bell. It even comes with a water bottle & holder. Well worth the money you spend for a quality bike. Picture is of 40 inch tall, 40 pound three year old for size reference.

The item received with many deep scratches and on the bike frame, fork and handle bar. I was meant for a gift and it ended up look like it was a second hand bike. Very disappointed purchase.

We live on busy streets. High traffic and busy on streets side walk. 2.8 y.o. loves it. Bit heavy but sturdy.
    so 6 month review.
winter was very cold so bike was in storage from November 2016-April 3 2017.
usually we go to local park and every body like this bike, like color and the way adult can push and guide it.
well suddenly pedals got hard and it stopped completely so we have to carry it back home.
I opened pedals and found that left side bottom bracket completely broke and right side is loose.
I would like to ask manufacturer warranty to see if they will cover or replace whole crankset.

1 year update. manufacturer sent me lower bearing set. I replaced both bearings and added a lot of grease.
also I decided to open front wheel and add more grease.

Now the rear wheel bearing became an issue, harder to pedal. I will ask manufacturer again
    update_emaile to manufacturer.
    awaiting respond.

    4/20/17 update.
manufacturer sent me lower bearing set. I replaced both bearings and added a lot of grease.
also I decided to open front and rear wheels and add more grease. still not perfect but much smoother and softer.
