Collar saved my dog. A black bear came blasting into our yard while we were standing in the driveway, so I tried to call my dog into the house. As we ran to the door, the bear passed us and my dog ended up chasing it.
I couldn’t call her back, she only wanted the bear. This collar is the only thing that stopped her at the perimeter from getting tangled with the 500 lb Maine black bear. I later got a picture of this bear on my game camera. Battery lasts a long time and you just need to turn the collar on beside the base so it connects. Read the directions, they make sense and test it before use. This changed everything that I didn’t like about my dog and now we are both happy and playing in the yard that is her own. In the beginning she wouldn’t come in the house when called so I lowered the perimeter and she came right inside once it beeped. Great training device and the neighbor is not showing up with my dog in his car anymore. After the bear thing, I had to write a review. Recently I took her to my parents beach and I was able to plug the base in down there and she could swim and play around it and it kept her from going up on the busy street by the house. I also took the dog and collar to a friends house who had the same thing. You have to reset the collar next to the base but then it’s good to go and the dogs can play together on the same signal.

We have had the pet system for 2 years and both of our dogs keep breaking through the perimeter that was set for them. We even had purchased the PetSafe Stay & Play Wireless Fence for Stubborn Dogs Collar and we fully charged the collar, and I walked up to the perimeter and it toned which told me it was working.

2 hours later my neighbor called and told me our dog was hit by a truck and died in the road.
This collar did not work and my dog died due to false advertisement.

My beautiful, “stubborn” German Shepherd, Jessi, is sweet but very stubborn. This collar usually keeps her contained within the yard boundaries on our “Stay and Play” system, but she still passes through when she’s really determined to, even with the “Stubborn Dog” receiver collar set to a level 6. We also trim the hair on her neck area & she still is willing to take the stimulation. Her sister, JoJo, on the other hand, will stay contained with her regular containment receiver collar set on a level 2 or even with just a “beep” signal.

Overall I am really happy and glad I bought this product. Happy because it works and glad because my two dogs won’t be shot.

I am new to rural living and always thought that people out in these parts just had the luxury of allowing your pets to have free reign. Not true! I received an unknown call one night from a neighbor just down the road. A nice enough conversation until the neighbor told me that his neighbor told him to shoot my dogs next time they came to his property! OMG I thought. So I started keeping them in until they needed to go to the washroom. Took them out on a leash. That, need I even say, became tedious! There much be a better way. We have no fences and for the 7 acres we have it would cost a fortune!

In comes this product after doing a bit of research.

Easy to set up. Easy to use. One thing though. I did NOT use the wire pegs at all. I went to put them up and mark out to the dogs where they could not go and thought to myself — these things would hurt if impaled through the leg, foot or any part of the body. Got scared to use them. So I went through the rest of the set up and training. Just went out with them and let them figure out where they couldn’t go. It worked within 3 days! Now, unless we take the necklaces ( that’s what we call them ) off they know not to go far! One thing to remember is don’t entice them to get shocked. If they do it on their own it’s fine and they learn but if you goad them into doing it they simply stop trusting you.

I recommend this product to anyone that needs to contain their animal buddies within a reasonable area.

We purchased this in addition to the wireless pet fence and I wish we knew about it years ago!! This totally changed our lives and our dogs lives! This is worth EVERY penny! We purchased the stubborn dog collar for our Golden Retriever. She would take off EVERY chance she could and was starting to push me out of the way to take off when I opened the door. We also have a Mini Australian Shepherd that uses the collar that came with the pet fence. Our golden was shocked one time and that is all it took. I don’t think our Mini Aussie was ever even shocked, we walked her to the flags ONE time and she heard the warning beeps. Both dogs have since gone out without the collar’s and do not leave the bounderies. IN ADDITION the collars are rechargable and waterproof.

I have a 3 year old female dalmatian, who likes to chase certain people, I bought the pet safe wired system like 2 years ago… the system worked for my other dogs perfectly but had no effect on her! I decided to try this system but seriously doubted it would work, but it does!!! It’s on max but after 5 days training she’s perfect and has no desire to test the fence! I’m so happy, money well spent!
Only thing I don’t like is the fence changes distance a little bit, I gave up trying to put the flags in for training…

Fully charge the collar and the base will just beep over and over again. Have to unplug. Waste of 349 dollars. and Amazon won’t take the return.

Easy to install. I put the flags down as markers for my puppy. He was shocked a total of 2 times while learning. After that just the the warning beep was required to keep him from leaving the yard. He hears the beep and backs right up. He has gone outside for emergency pees without the collar and stays in the yard. I wouldn’t trust him without the collar for long stretches outside just in case. Very pleased with this product. I didn’t want to tie him.

I’ve only had it a couple weeks, so it’s hard to tell for sure, but the product seems good and works as advertised. Hopefully the battery will last as it’s not replaceable. I’m having a little trouble with the training, but we’ll get there. Be sure to do your homework first though. I may have missed it in the ad, but I didn’t know until I sarted setting it up and visited the manufacturer’s website, that it doesn’t work well if you have a metal roof on your house and/or if you have hilly terrain. It does seem to be managing the slope in my driveway, but it’s close. I also only seem to be getting about half the expected range, and I think that’s because of the metal roof.

SECOND one I bought for my lab mix. Bc it is a snap collar they are EASY to come off. I’ve searched everywhere for replacement collars that fit and no luck. Also sometimes it works with the boundary, but most times not. I have spent SO much money on this system. I have bought two other collars for the system and they both don’t work anymore. ITS ONLY BEEN A YEAR. IVE SPENT APROXIMATELY 1000 dollars. DO NOT GET THIS SYSTEM

We have a very big & stubborn Giant Schnauzer.. seriously she’s like the size of a horse and has the equivalent energy level to the Tasmanian devil. After having multiple encounters with our neighbors from her roaming through their garden and “playing” with their chickens, I had to spend the money on this collar. It was truly our last option!! Wish I would have done it sooner! I started training her the first few days as outlined in the instructions for only about 30 minutes a day. When she wasn’t training, we had her on a leash so she couldn’t run outside the set perimeter. I started out with just the beeping tone (level 1 with no shock/static) and it didn’t seem to phase her. After working with her I turned the shock/static level to 2 and then 3. I found that level 4 (medium shock/static) was perfect for her as it did the job since she’s so stubborn and so large. I never had to go any higher. She went past the perimeter a few times and instantly went running back to the house. I’ll be honest she did not like it and it broke my heart, but now she won’t go close anymore and is even acting better! She’s listening and respecting our commands. Treats and positive enforcement are a must while training. No more tension with neighbors and no more stress!!
