Worked great initially. my mother loved it and depended on it. now…it powers on, but only shows a back-lit screen of white. As if no programming.

My Veteran Dad has been living with my wife and our 2 youngest children for 8 years. It’s only been a couple of years since he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
Lately, he had been constantly asking everyone what day it is or time and even thinking that he was back in the 1940’s. He is so cute and enjoys watching cartoons. I believe it’s the colors on screen that keep him entertained for a couple of hours a day
Anyway,
we tried everything from buying a chalk board to purchasing the largest calendar we could find and more!
Then one day while surfing Amazon Prime, I found this clock. I bypassed it many times before actually ordering it. I kept thinking nothing will work ever!
Well, I was definitely wrong and they only issue we had for a couple of days was that he thought we purchased it so that he wouldn’t be late for work
I still use the chalk board only as a means of communication and wrote, “Dad your retirement has started so enjoy yourself here at home with us”
He no longer wants to know what time or day it is.
Dad just patiently walks back to his room to look at his clock and he will come back to tell us what day and time it is.
He definitely loves it and clock gives him a little more independence!
My special wife who has been his main caretaker, gets him up around 9 AM and keeps Dad on a routine because it makes it easier on Dad and everyone else.
The alarm noise doesn’t startle Dad at all.
We do wish the year was a bit “LARGER” but overall it’s the best purchase we have made for Dad and for our peace of mind!
Actually, we wouldn’t mind the clock being a few inches longer!
Just another note:
14 years ago we adopted 2 children and we never thought we would have Dad come live with us and that Alzheimer’s would afflict him! He was so independent.
See, we are also seniors and my retirement comes in 7 years. So raising 2 youngsters and having Dad here hasn’t been easy yet we have no regrets….. so one of our greatest wish is that more inventions like this will be around in case “WE” need them!
It’s been a long haul but well worth it. We are also teaching our 2 youngest of 7 children about having compassion, love and patience!
Thank you for this wonderful invention and as time permits I will give you an update on this wonderful purchase!
Blessings!

Got it for my 87 year old husband who has a hard time remembering the day of the week, and he loves it. Only one thing would make it better. I’d love if it had some way of including a reminder of events for the day that you could set up and review by pushing a button. On one screen would be the day, date and time, on the other, events for that day. Maybe it could be linked to a smart phone calendar. One thing I do love is that it can be set so that everything dims down at night. On the whole we both love it.

This item is advertised as using batteries.
It does not take batteries at all!

I never needed a clock in the living room, as the DVR had one. But, after moving, the Cable company is a bit behind in technology (not necessarily a bad thing), as the DVR does not have a clock. 😮
And, since I’m unofficially retired, and live a sedate life style, it’s easy to loose track of the day and date. So, I really needed a clock that showed all this.
Now, I do have a clock that has jumbo lettering. But, it is so bright, that it lights up the room. So, I wanted something that would show me the info, but not interfere with watching TV.
Well, this gadget fills the bill, perfectly!
I just plugged it in, and within a few seconds, the clock, day and date (correctly displayed) appeared. NO setting needed. 😎
Though, when DST ended on 3 NOV, it didn’t adjust for that. But, the Remote (yes, a clock with a remote control) is so easy to understand, making the time change was super easy.
A awesome device. And, a must have for those who worry about loosing track of the day/date.

Hi, my husband has cancer, and the last 2 months his memory started to go downhill..to where he couldn’t tell time as well..so I was online looking for the perfect clock to help him..something that had everything..like day night am pm…and I come across this clock..it was perfect..it has helped my husband some..I say some because of the confusion he has..not from clock itself…this is a great product from young to old..it gives you everything brightly lit up to see.this is a godsend for whomever is having memory issues…and so forth..thank you so much.!! Bless you.!!!

After 3-1/2 months of use this clock suddenly reversed the display so everything is shown backwards. It seems other customers have had a similar issue.

Original review out of the box for Christmas 2020: Mom is 93. She still lives on her own and doesn’t want anything. She has made it clear at her age she doesn’t need more stuff. Hard to buy a gift for someone like that. When we visit she often says she loses track of what day it is. When I found this calendar day clock I knew, if it came as advertised, I would be bringing the perfect gift.
It is exactly as advertised.
It was the perfect gift.
March 2021 update: 3 months in and it’s no longer a perfect gift. It no longer is exactly as advertised. Hard to put in words what the face of the clock looks like now…possessed maybe? So please see photo. Also clock loses a couple of minutes each week. I will update when it completely gives up the ghost.
Late March update: I wish I could warn every potential buyer – you will buy this for someone you love, they will come to depend on it, you will give the product a glowing review, then the product will just die. Your loved one will be worse off then when you bought it. And you WON’T write a review to warn others!
