I am always searching for delicious coffee I always find in Europe. For 5 years I used my Nespresso and that was close for espressos. For a regular coffee I bought Nespresso VertuosoPlus Deluxe. What a disappointment! Bottom line it doesn’t make a good cup of coffee: I used strongest Nespresso pod for 7.7 oz coffee but still has no flavor. Just brown water. This centrifuge method is not good extracting flavors. Since I used it I can’t get my money back!
So I went back to my old Technivorm machine which makes good coffee all the time. Stay with proven methods. New inventions are not always better.

works great. just keep it clean all the time and it’s reliable and fast! more expensive than using a standard drip coffee maker, but much more delicious and convenient. the little metal pods look nice displayed in the kitchen too. the milk steamer is a MUST as well. it’s very easy to clean…the inner wire thingy pops right out and it’s held in place by a magnet, so no delicate connections to break or get messy with dried milk. really love the whole setup. the only drawback is that I might be drinking more (and stronger) coffee than I used to — but it’s always delicious! what’s more…I’ve heard that they’re going to start offering Starbucks coffee pods too.
It’s owned by Nestle, which is a company I’m not fond of, but they recycle the pods and compost the used coffee grains…and they claim to use Fair Trade coffee, so I’m sold.

Years of Mr. Coffee, Cuirinart and Keurig machines did not prepare me for the incredibly good coffees that this machine produces. Yes it is expensive. Yes the pods are expensive. You won’t notice because you will never set foot in a Starbucks again. I am very happy with this purchase😃

I am extraordinarily disappointed. I purchased the newer vertuoline nespresso model after enjoying coffees brewed by friends and family on the original nespresso model. Spending a great deal of money on both the system and an assortment of pods from the “club”, I was confident the cost would be worth it. Quite the opposite.
EVERY pod I try, regardless of the flavor, size, or strength, is extremely bitter. I taste no “vanilla notes, hints of caramel, smooth nuttiness”, or any other variations in flavor advertised. Even the wonderful flavors I enjoyed with the original nespresso pods/ system taste completely different with these vertuo pods. After reading many similar complaints and potential fixes on coffee brewing websites, I have attempted to shorten the brew time, change the water amount, and many other fixes to make the coffee palatable without having to add sugar and milk, however I taste no improvement. Over $200s between system and pods only to dump cup after cup of bitter, horrible brews down the sink !
I do not understand why there is such a difference between the old and new systems, and I am very hesitant to spend even more money purchasing the older, original nespresso line. Unfortunately, this shiny, state of the art, (horrible) unit cannot be returned unless it is in “new, unused condition, in original box.”.
An incredible waste of money.

Ordered this model to replace my previous VertuoLine model #1. This one has corrected the heating issue which makes the coffee much hotter. But I am having issues with the tank leaking. From research online I have found others encountering the same issue. I just got off the phone with Nespresso customer service and they acknowledged the issue but informed me there is a specific way to align the tank connection to prevent leaking. Although I do not see how the tank can be aligned any differently Nespresso agreed to sent me pictures showing how to do it. I will share once I get the images and confirm it is the fix for the issue. Hopefully this helps others.
**** UPDATE – 7/3/17 ****
Never received any pictures from Nespresso regarding the issue of the leaking water tank. So I called back. The customer service rep I interfaced with the second time was extremely helpful and nice. She was simply going to replace the machine for me directly from Nespresso but because of Father’s Day weekend just passing they were out of stock. She said I could either wait for a couple of weeks and they would send me one as soon as it was back in stock or I could have Amazon send a replacement. Since Amazon had it in stock I decided to go ahead and request a replacement. Amazon had a new one to me within 2 days. The new one has worked great with no water leaks. I waited before updating my comments here to make sure there were no leaks after a week’s use. The old one has been shipped back. Happy to say it appears to have been just a bad unit and the new one is working great. *on a side note, Nespresso was nice enough to send me a couple of their latte glasses for free for all of my trouble. Now that’s great customer service!

I love my Nespresso coffee maker – it makes great quality coffee, much better tasting than the other major brands (I have the coffee maker on my desk at work so I don’t have to drink or office provided (cheaper) pod brand). We have both the Vertuo and the Original line Nespresso coffee makers and I find the Vertuo is superior. The one downside is expense – the coffee pods are quite expensive.

The machine arrived used with stains and coffee residue all over; I understand that this Warehouse deal was for a refurbished coffee machine, but that doesn’t mean items should be used and dirty… The box even had the Amazon Auditor checklist with a note over “hygienic concerns” and how they need to “clean the item”, yet, the coffee machine wasn’t cleaned.
Contacted support and got a reasons along the these lines: “It’s a Warehouse deal, tough luck”
I spent a couple of hours cleaning the machine since I didn’t want to return it (it was out of stock), and once I used it, it proved to be a very good for machine. Well done Breville!
I’m just very disappointed with Amazon shipping items that their own staff have “hygienic concerns” over during a pandemic.

It started leaking after 1 year… I call the support and they told me that since it has been more than 1 year, so it isn’t on the warranty anymore. So I needed to pay 125$ to repair it… I paid it 188$ in 2020… so basically the equivalent of buying a new one… but with only 6 months of warranty of the repairs lol. So i said no. I toss it on the trash yesterday.
I do not recommend it, only because if it breaks.. you won’t get help. But i want to emphasize on this though. The coffee was magical.
Another Opinion –
The first machine that was delivered had a leaky water tank. We contacted Nespresso who sent another machine ASAP. Second machine works perfectly. Excellent customer support from Nespresso as well as excellent coffee.

We use this more often than I ever imagined. PROS: Great tasting coffee and you can test all the available flavors at any Nespresso counter (their retail stores or Macy’s). Artisan styled foam top coffee. And, only few minutes to an individualized cup. CONS: One 8-ounce cup of coffee per pod @ $1.10 plus cream plus sugar says this is not the best price performer. The foam is not optional and if you tire of it, skimming it away gets tedious. You can only use Nespresso programmed pods and no other brand coffee which REALLY limits choices and DO NOT expect to accommodate your favorite restaurant’s latest Roast . All-in-all, this is a great inexpensive novelty coffee maker. However, it is inflexible and unfulfilling for a serious coffee drinker.
