Interested in becoming more of a coffee addict? Not on par with starbucks, just will take your espresso experience to the next level. Easy to make and customize your own drinks. Irish latte, a favorite weekend euphoria. Great coffee selection, and so far 2 months in and extactic I took the plunge with this nespresso machine. I’m actually bumbed I need to go to starbucks to get coffee at the airport. For those wondering, this works well with coconut almond milk whilst any milk sub besides soy has sugar added at starbucks.

PROS
+ Simple set-up, despite the novella that is the instruction manual
+ Simple operation (see Cons re: buttons)
+ Incredibly fast brew times with no quality loss (it takes less than a minute for a latte macchiato)
+ Beautiful and elegant design which, surprisingly, doesn’t have a large footprint (you’ll need roughly a 1 cubic foot space, but you’ll need plenty of overhead room in order to refill the water tank–see Neutrals re:water tank)
+ Highly customizable, including coffee/milk amounts, so you can create the perfect brew for your mug and palate (see Cons re: manual)
NEUTRALS
* You must use caution when removing the spent capsule tray if you have the milk attached because bad things will happen if you just pull it out (ask me how I know–see the postscript)
* The water tank, while elegant and cleverly designed, requires acclimation because you must carry it by the lid and there’s always a worry that somehow the lid will just snap off (hasn’t happened yet, but I’ll certainly to update if it does) and also, it’s so small that you’ll need to refill it every few cups
CONS
– The manual, as I mentioned earlier, is a novella and in some cases not laid out very well; it lacks a detailed legend in the the front or rear (which may not be a huge problem if you’re already familiar with DeLonghi or espresso beverages to begin with), and several of the instructions have you bouncing back and forth from page to page; the good news is, once you’ve gotten the hang of the machine, you don’t really need to reference it all that much, but keep it just in case
– Nespresso capsules are pricey, coming in at 70c-$1+ per cup (double if you need more than one capsule per beverage), and there isn’t much competition–certainly not as much as Keurig’s K-cups–and they are incredibly difficult to purchase outside of an online venue (for instance, I’d need to travel 10 miles to the nearest Nespresso boutique rather than less than a mile to my local big name grocer)
– Cleaning (I mean a *full* cleaning) of the milk dispenser is a mission, especially with all the small parts which must be pulled apart and soaked prior to washing (I’m always paranoid that I’ll lose the milk foam adjuster knob or the fob that locks it into place)
WORTH NOTING: If you’re one of those people who purchased a reusable K-cup because you want to lower your environmental footprint, doing the same with this will be trickier. The options available are limited and, from their reviews, questionable. The good news is that Nespresso recycles their spent capsules and you can order the recycling bags for free from their website which you can then drop off at any UPS.
I may update this review from time to time as I continue using the Lattissima, however, if you have a question about it or my experience with it, please leave a comment and I’ll do my best to answer.

You might wonder what is the difference between this DeLonghi “America” Lattissima Touch and the Lattissima Touch that came out in 2015. It’s all–and only–in the touch button programming. This new “America” Lattissima Touch has a button for “Creamy Latte”, which puts coffee at the bottom and more milk through the middle and on top, plus froth on top.
This new version of the Lattissima Touch does away with the .85 ounce Ristretto button. For just coffee, it has an espresso and a lungo button. And it has four milk/coffee combos: Cappucciino (coffee/milk mix and froth on top), Latte Macchiato (milk on the bottom, coffee in the middle and milk on top, plus froth), the Creamy Latte (described in the first paragraph), and Warm Milk Froth, (as much as you want; until the milk container is empty if need be). The old version of the Lattissima Touch has the same milk choices, minus the Creamy Latte.
Interesting to note: One can adjust the thickness and amount of froth. And–we find this really a great feature–you can run the Warm Milk button without making a cup of coffee. So, during the cold months, we use it for other things, like topping hot chocolate and adding creaminess and froth to tomato soup.
The Creamy White color is very pretty and well done. It is an ivory color and looks just like the photos on this product page.
The milk container on this machine DOES clean itself. And it does it automatically, when the user presses a button on the container after each use. We keep a small cup next to the machine to catch the burst of steam and water from the cleaning process. A warning light goes on to remind you to hit that cleaning button and to put the milk container back in the refrigerator (which is a safety concern).
The machine’s shape and size is identical to its 2015 model, and it’s a relatively small footprint for what it does. It fits under cabinets easily. You just need to remember that the water container is at the back of the machine–and you have to lift it up and off to refill. Check out the dimensions of this machine before putting it into your shopping cart. IF you still need something smaller, and IF there is only one or two people in your household, consider the newest Nespresso machine: The Lattissima One. It is a really nice looking machine, but it has a smaller milk container.
One thing we have noticed with the Lattissima Touch machines, both earlier version and this model: Depending on whether the blend in the capsule is a finer or coarser grind, water runs through the capsule at different rates of speed. The more intense blends usually have a finer grind, and the finer the grind the slower the water passes through. I confirmed that with a Nespresso representative. It makes logical sense. And it is even mentioned in the “Troubleshooting guide” in the instruction booklet. But we have found that it happens with some of the less intense capsules, too, like the Bukela. So, that is part of the experience and not a fault of the machine. It is not a clog, and you don’t need to descale until a little LED light tells you to descale. (Definitely buy your descaling solution from Nespresso, it’s way less expensive than here on Amazon.)
Regarding the capsules: They are so easy to buy right from Nespresso. And–having tried a variety of non-Nespresso capsules, I believe that nothing else truly compares with the quality of the Nespresso line of Grand Crues. Plus Nespresso comes up with limited runs of some really fine, unusual finds, several times a year. For November-December holidays, Nespresso comes up with a few flavored blends, too. While I writing this review there is a special of two blends for iced coffees. And Nespresso has many special offers, almost each month. Offers range from new offerings, free accessories (I have several sets of cups and glasses, gratis from Nespresso, just by placing my coffee order during the time a special was taking place), free chocolate, too! There is a $10 off coupon for coffee when you register your machine and sign up as a new member.
Along with a new machine you get a sampling of each of the regular Grand Cru blends. I suggest that all coffee drinkers in your house be present when each Grand Cru is made. Each should have a chance to breathe in the fragrance during the pour, observe the crema as it develops in the cup, and have a taste. Try to use a glass double-walled cup, so you can see what’s going on in the cup. Take notes of what each person thinks. Not only is it fun, it’s a activity to complete together and very rewarding.

Finally, I met my best coffee maker. This Nespresso machine could serve hot milk or milk form. In the Morning, I need a lot of brew coffee for my family, so I use regular brew coffee maker. And each person add their favorite style of milk on their coffee by Nespresso machine.
I use Nespresso for my afternoon coffee. Aroma, coffee taste, so good. Easy to use. Easy to set up your favorite coffee.
One point I feel inconvenience, which is when I wash a milk server parts, I have to keep the milk pod without lid in the fridge. How do people keep it? Use plastic wrap? Back to original milk box? ( I do not want to )
I thought if there is a lid for it, it’s would be nice more and more. ( I will buy if they sell )
