I have been using the Silk Epil 9 for over 5 years now, and it is the best for facial peach fuzz. I have a lot of hair on my head and white peach fuzz on my cheeks and chin. I have tried many epilators and other ways of removing it and this is the best because the head actually grabs the fine little hairs. works great on darker mustache hairs too, in fact on like 2-3 of my mustache hairs grow back any more. I also use it on my arms and legs. You should never use it in the bath tub because that only causes the hair to break and not get removed from the root, and that is what you want. Yes it stings and even hurts at first but you get used to it. Too Not break out in zits on your face or bumps on your arms or legs or anywhere, clean you skin with hand sanitizer or lightly with rubbing alcohol first. Like for men the pre-shave stuff is basically alcohol that makes hair stand out better for a closer shave. You may want a fan in the room if you use straight alcohol. Or I pour some over the head before using on my face. HERE IS SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT I JUST LEARNED. Do NOT try to replace the battery. My old epilator was not holding a charge very well so I found instructions on how to change it, put it back together it Did Not Work. Bought this new one and it states right in the users manual: Caution: Disassembling the appliance will Destroy it and invalidate the warranty, and it Does Destroy the Unit. Dont believe any site that tells you you can replace the battery on this epilator.

Bit of a background: My very first epilator was battery operated (got this over 10 years ago), but I loved it so much because it was able to pull out hairs that were verily coming out (from my own experience the smaller the hair the less painful it is), it had a very good grip of hairs. Unfortunately, the power was not that great…. It took forever to epilate just my legs! (I am very tall), therefore, I kept to waxing (if I could wait for my hair to be long enough) or shaving (which always ends with me somehow cutting myself). Nevertheless, I did stick to epilating my armpits, arms, and bikini area over the years (This also meant buying batteries like there was no tomorrow!)
At some point I got a rechargeable epilator, I cannot remember the brand, but it most definitely was not a cheap one. Well, I hated it, hated it with a passion. The potency was the same as my battery operated one, took the same time to epilate with. Worst yet, even thought it claimed it could pull out hairs as small as 3 mm (may have been 5 mm) it did not!!!! My hairs had to be fairly long in order for that epilator to work, and of course it did hurt a bit more. I used it for a couple of months and then out of nowhere it just stopped working. I was so upset and disappointing.
As time passed I just got tired of the time it took to epilate and how much batteries it used. So I slowed downed a bit with it. I would do it every now and then, on the mean time I either shaved or waxed.
Whoever said that shaving makes hair grow thicker is a myth they are a liar! Because my arm hairs began to grow much faster and very black… so I decided to find another way of getting rid of the hairs and slow their growth. That is when I came across this epilator…. I did some research and all the list had this particular one as the best epilator out there. Between the articles I read and the reviews here (on Amazon) I decided to go for it.
When I received it I had just shaved my legs, so no hairs there, but my arm and armpits hair where somewhat out there (5 mm long or longer). I began using it and I was speechless!!! It pulled out such tiny hairs from my arms, and the potency is great! I did a very, very slow sipped and it pulled every hair! not joking! I love this machine!!
Waited about 2 days and decided to try it out on my legs, the hairs were pretty tiny. Well….. it took a couple of swipes but all hairs got pulled out. Even better, it did took me not even 10 minutes to do both legs! ( I mean cover every corner and edge of my legs, even bikini area). This epilator is super fast compared to the other 2 I have tried, and is able to pull really tiny hairs just as my battery operated one!
I am extremely happy with the epilator. It is fast and is able to pull really tiny hairs, which is what truly minimizes the pain.
I recommend this epilator! Truly do!

Dude, never really heard of this until I searched a different way to shave or wax. F@#$ yeah! I’ve only used it once. I exfoliated yesterday, knew it was coming today, washed my legs free of lotion, charged it, then hesitated because I was afraid because everything I read about epilators. Then I gained the courage to use this torture looking device. And it really didn’t hurt not as bad as waxing, at all. And definitely not as messy. And my legs were not angry red at me for more than an hour. I used some cooling aloe and moisturized with some coconut oil. I can’t wait to get the 2nd and 3rd waves of hairs. Woot woot for this device. The only reason I gave it 4 stars only is because it doesn’t give you much instruction. I only knew what to do through research before spending 100 bucks on something I was sure about. I will update in a week to see if I end up with ingrown hairs or nice silky legs.
Update after 1 month, I did get ingrown hairs but not many on my legs, however my armpits are silky smooth, and yeah after the initial pain the first time. I took care of the ingrown hairs with a dry brush. I wish I knew about this years ago. My legs aren’t as silky yet but hopefully they will be once the hair groowth cycles sync up. Still my legs feel better than they ever had with shaving. I’m still thinking this product rocks!!!
Update months later:
This thing is so awesome! My armpits are smooth now and stays that way and any regrowth is soft. My legs still stubbly but way better than when I just shaved, maybe it takes longer. Bikini line! Awesome, but just like the pits, the bikini line hurt the first time but the second time it was so much more tolerable. Hopefully I can update with a better review for my legs.

This was my first epilator ever. The First using it was really painful. I took breaks often and remembered to breathe while it was happening. Managed to do both my very hairy legs from ankle to upper thigh with still lots of battery left.
Honestly, other then the pain aspect of it, I really like it. My legs are smooth for longer and it’s a fraction of the cost of waxing. Only downside is you may get ingrown hairs. Make sure to exfoliate afterwards to help with that.

I have been using a 20 year old Phillips Satinelle because evey other epilador I bought after that was a complete let down…until it finally gave up on me. I am sooooo happy I read the reviews and purchased this Braun device. It is very powerful and covers a wider area than the smaller units and IT IS SO FAST!!! I feel it is less painful than waxing, I had used a razor for the past few months and am 38 weeks pret so my tolerance for pain is not very good at the moment, yet I was surprised on how much less painful it is than most epilators. I found very smooth results as it pulls tiny little hairs so there’s no need to wait for much growth! My only regret is not having purchased this device earlier. It is absolutely worth the few extra dollars!

First time using an epilator – very pleased with results – can see using this for years to come. Expected pain threshold higher based on youtube reviews – WRONG~ took out of box, charged 1 hr, tried it on dry skin, high setting – no different than waxing pain. Helps to be hydrated before doing this just like waxing. Will definitely recommend and buy again for friends.

Me ENCANTO!!!!!! Simplemente no me arrepiento.

I had the machine Braun since years, I had the silk épil 5 for more than 14 years!! And it still works! The new machine silk epil 9 is better of course, and works under water which is very practical! I highly recommend this model 🙂 The Braun silk epil is dual voltage (110-220v) I bought the one with canadian plug, and I am using it in Canada and Europe when I travel. All you need is an adapter for European plug.
