Was really excited to get this product. But I am a bit disappointed. It is not as effective – takes forever and I frankly gave up – when using in the shower or bath on wet skin. It is better on dry. It is almost too gentle to work effectively, unfortunately. I love all their epilators but this one is worse than the previous model.

I got this product, opened it, and I saw little tiny hairs on it. The product has very clearly been used. This is disgusting. Returning.

As a licensed esthetician in the state of California, I can say I fully love this device! I normally break out my waxing kit and wax at home. But I now have a 2 year old running around my house and getting into everything. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my waxing warmer out to heat up and stay heated as I’m attempting to wax. So when I looked into epilators I wanted to make sure it was top of the line and would do everything I wanted with promised performance.
I can honestly say I am so impressed with this device! I was able to easily remove my hair without having to worry about my 2 year old attempting to get into something he shouldn’t.
Does it hurt? Well I’m going to say it depends on your pain tolerance level. I can handle a decent amount of pain. So for me I tried a small area first to test it out since I didn’t know what kind of pain to expect. It was fairly uncomfortable to start. Once I got used it it, which was fairly quick, I just went to town!
Tossing my razor in the trash and packing up my wax kit because this epilator is my new go to! I love the smooth results!

I’m a little on the fence with this product (and I guess epilators in general). I’ve tried one epilator before, an old model, and it hurt REALLY bad and I decided I was just gonna stick to shaving. But years have gone by and I’m tired of shaving and tired of being wasteful blasting through razor heads all the time. I decided to get this product because it seems nicer than most other epilators with all of its different interchangeable pieces and the rotating head. As expected, it hurt realllll bad the first time I used it. I tried it dry first and it was unbearable. My leg hair is thick and it felt like I was getting stabbed all over. I stopped and decided to try it in the shower. I exfoliated my legs with a body scrub first and made sure I was in the shower for a while so the steam could really open up my pores and soften my skin. The pain wasn’t as bad, but still quite uncomfortable, and I think I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. In the shower it was bearable in small areas at a time. You definitely have to pull the skin very taut or else it kind of drags/snags on the skin and doesn’t actually pull the hairs out. I was kind of surprised that there wasn’t that baby smooth feeling afterwards, it took several passes to feel smooth. It took about an hour to do both of my legs. I definitely have red dots all over but my skin isn’t super irritated. I put on a healing moisturizer after and my legs feel pretty smooth. I’m just hoping that this really does make the hair on my legs grow in thinner and slower. That would make it worth it. Otherwise I’d much rather stick to the quick and painless route of shaving.
UPDATE: redness and irritation completely gone within 24 hours, though it did get worse before it got better. It’s been several days and my legs are still smooth, a few tiny hairs are growing in here and there. This is unbelievable for me. Like I said, my hair is very thick and it will grow back literally 12 hours after shaving. To go several days and still be smooth is amazing!

While the core epilation feature of this product is great, I can’t recommend it because it’s being marketed on a LIE. One of the primary reasons why I purchased this item was for the exfoliation feature. Like all products for exfoliation, it needs to be replaced due to regular use. The instruction manual even tells you to replace it and gives you instructions on how to do so.
Upon contacting bother Braun and their parts servicer Encompass, both told me that this item isn’t actually produced and there’s no way to replace it. It’s unconscionable to market a feature on a $180 product and not provide it. It’s BLATANT false advertising!
I cannot in good conscience recommend this product since one of its key features is rendered unusable after a year of regular use. Save yourself some money and buy a cheaper version without the exfoliation feature, don’t be duped like I was!
