I used to have one of these back in the day. Holding this X-Men unit brought back memories. The graphics are outdated and nothing to rave about. The gameplay is simple and basic. The nostalgia factor of being transported back in time was a zen like experience.

A huge throwback to a childhood memory. Going to gift, and will update if there are any issues. But it looks great, just as I remember. Would recommend!

Really happy with this. Totally just like the ones I used to get in the late 80’s and 90’s as a kid. Adds a really AWESOME touch to my LCD electronic games collection. Love it. I did get the other two releases, Sonic 3 and The Little Mermaid. I did not get the Transformers game because for se reason, it’s way more expensive then these three. But again, 4 stars and I hope more come out.

Turn on some Recess, Hey Arnold or Doug. Grab yourself a bowl of fruity Pebbles. Put the Pogs away, maybe call blockbuster to see if Sister Act 2 is in stock for rental… kick back and enjoy endless possibilities with this X-men game. I’m having some Major flashbacks right now. About to call my parents for a road trip then sit in the back with my kids and just play this game the whole Time.

I see these being sold and scalped everywhere. They’re overpriced as it is. These should be $10 at the MOST. Not $15 like they’re selling for. And certainly not $50 like some scalpers are asking.

It’s a neat nostalgic gift to give but they’re not made well at all. It’s crazy to think back on the Tiger handhelds made in the 90’s and think “Wow, these are really well built” because these rereleases are not. I’ve had to return/exchange a few of these (buying the 4 rereleases for myself and others as gifts) because either the screen was damaged and had weird stains/bubbles on them or because the plastic itself was all scratched up and scuffed with colored marks (I’ve seen black and blue) – specifically on the battery cover for some reason. And I’m seeing a lot of other reviews saying the same.

The games themselves are hardly games. But you’re not buying these for the mind blowing gameplay. You’re buying them because you had them when you were a kid and you want to play these awful games again. They’re all high score style games and they are fun to play in short bursts.

I will say however I was always really impressed by these. It’s such a primitive and limited technology – basically a calculator – and they made a video game out of it. That’s crazy to me. They used every last millimeter of the screen – packed it full of tiny images that light up when they need to. That’s incredibly creative to me and I have a soft spot for these. But there’s no reason why they should be damaged while they’re new in the box.

These products are fantastic Recreations of the Tiger Electronics handheld I enjoyed as a kid.

This one was from 92′ the end of when I was enjoying these products. It has a higher complexity then some of the earlier titles that I own. Out of all the Tiger Electronics I have played this one has the deepest gameplay mechanics and holds up the best.

I have seen some bad reviews for these products due to people not knowing there are Recreation of a very retro and simple product from the past. This isn’t really the fault of the consumers as Hasbro doesn’t really explain the type of limitations these products have compared to similarly priced handhelds. I could see my mom buying one of these for my daughter and not realizing it was supposed to be a recreation of the 90s electronic game.

On the flip side I really appreciate the old school packaging complete with the year of creation on the back.

All Tiger Electronics games are quite simple but this one allows the player to play as cyclops and gives them the freedom to shoot forward and up. He can also throw projectiles back– figuring that out really helped me with the later levels.

This is a great product for retro enthusiasts but it would not be a good purchase for a child or somebody without the Nostalgia of the original.

A general complaint that people have had about these things is that they are scuffed and scratched right out of the package. Unfortunately, I am no exception to the rule. Not only was the back scuffed up, but there are even scratches on the screen. Personally, the marks on the back don’t bother me. But the scratches on the screen I do not like at all. It is obvious that Hasbro does not care about the condition of these products when they leave the factory. Again, I am not the only one with this problem. Just look it up on YouTube and you find a number of reviewers talking about this issue

The static graphics, the beeping sounds effects, the muted green and black color plate, all in its 90’s glory. My son (9) has no patience for this game and to be honest unless someone is nostalgic for it, I don’t see why someone would enjoy it. There are much better games out there. Despite this, I love this throwback handheld toy.
