Bought these even after reading some concerning reviews; “threads etc, after a few washes”. I took the advice in reviews and wash on gentle and dry flat right out of the washer. They come out perfect and wrinkle free. Even in my picture, wet, and just out of washer, they look like wrinkles will remain but they don’t. Drys perfect and never needs ironing and they hold up fine. Using clothes dryer ruins most clothing prematurely anyway IMHO. Hard to find a shirt that looks this good on, fitted, for the price. I wear large and it’s a true large I’m 6’ tall 205 pounds. If you are a larger gent, go with the XL but because it wears like a fitted shirt, I wouldn’t recommend for larger guys. Gotta be in decent shape to wear these. I have more than a dozen, some embroidered with my company name and others without to wear at leisure. I love Quicksilver shorts as well. Highly recommend if you have the time to flat dry.

Ugh. I wish I read these reviews before I bought this. It is a great looking shirt that fits well, BUT… I’ve only had it 6 months and it is falling apart. It has frayed so badly that I have to throw it away. I wash and dry it on delicate as the label suggests, so I’ve followed the care instructions exactly. If you buy this, don’t ever put it in the dryer. It should hang or lay flat to dry. The company needs to change the tag to indicate that.

The fabric is weak and has unravelled at every fold and seam – along the shirt bottom, at the sleeves and along both sides on the front . It is an inferior product and not worth the price – or any price because it just doesn’t last beyond a couple of washings. It looks good when first received but that is the end of the products life. Do NOT buy.

This is a great shirt, very well designed and feels like good quality fabric, especially for the price. This is my second Quicksilver camp shirt. I really like the design of this one as well. My wife loves the look of the shirt but we both feel that this is not true black, more of a charcoal gray.
I should know. I have a ton of black clothes, which is the basis for my wardrobe. Having said that, I really do like the shirt and would buy its replacement. However, I would really like a version that is true black, hence giving it four instead of five stars.

Bought this shirt for my husband less than a year ago. It has been in the wash less than 5 times, and it is already fraying at the bottom. Poor quality material.

This is the third Waterman by Quicksilver I have purchased. All of them have had the same fate. First, the fit is great, as is the look, and they are very comfortable. But, all three unraveled at the bottom hem, leaving lots of fine threads hanging down. You look like a fool when this happens and you find yourself trimming the shirt with scissors (this happened on a long trip this summer). This occurred after about 10-15 wearing/washings. Meaning, if you wear the shirt once a week for a summer, it is pretty much done by the fall. They are neither expensive nor cheap, but still, they are a wear-it-and-throw-it-away purchase given the poor quality control. Still, I really like the shirt. Too bad Quicksilver can’t adopt Patagonia’s approach to quality.
ps: I almost never write negative reviews, but this problem needed comment.

I’ve got this shirt in 5 different colors. The style and easy care are great, but as previous commenters have noted, it WILL fray at the hems after 10+ washes/drys. This issue has been known to Quiksilver for a couple years, but this shirt must sell well, because no material or weave changes have taken place.
The sizing is “liar sizing,” and I wear a large in most shirts, but a medium in this one.
Great shirt, but the fraying issue after 10 wears is real.

Hand wash only! Started falling apart after third washing. Why would anyone make a man’s shirt that requires them to hand wash it? Do you like hand washing laundry? Then buy this shirt.

Exactly as I expected. Found the same one in store, but one size too small. Found it on Amazon, and cheaper. Fast delivery!

Bought this for the hubby in sandstone which is a light creme with really small checkered/plaid patterns and it fits as expected / true to size. It looks large on the hanger, but once on fits well and lays nicely without hugging or hanging. The material is thick, but silky and breathable. This is the second of these that we have purchased from the Waterman collection because of the quality and ability to dress up/down. I am one of those that refuse to follow washing instructions for clothes as I don’t have the time or energy to wash items separately from the rest of my laundry (this is cold water with like colors and tumble dry). I wash it in warm water with normal detergent – no special treatment and have never had issues with shrinking/stretching/fading and I just throw it over the door and let them hang dry by morning, no ironing needed.

Perfect for business casual and a casual outing. Wrinkles easily disappear when hanging. Washes easily and low temp dryer setting rids wrinkles. Own several of these shirts for years and they all wear well
