Indiglo is the best watch illumination on the market..

After reading reviews about it being hard to read because of the inverted display, I was leary but decided to try it anyway. Not sure why there was an issue as I have had no problem seeing the time at a glance. The numbers are big and the watch looks awesome! I returned a G-Shock to get this one and I am very happy with that decision! I recommend this watch for anyone who wants to look tough! Lol I work on a golf course around water and dust, mud and sand, all sorts of abuse to put this watch to the test!

Replaces a very sturdy watch of the same make I have had for three years. Fell off bike and damaged resin strap. Excellent watch.

So far so good. Replaced a previous blacked out “tactical” watch that Timex seems to no longer make. All of the features are very intuitive to use. Nice to have an independent Indiglo button, and I like it’s positioning on the front. Much better design then similarly priced Casios. The watch face is the right size. Not a huge pie plate like some watches. Only short coming might be the strap. It seems very pliable, perhaps more likely to break sooner, and I’m unsure if Timex offers a replacement for it. Also… if Timex is listening: better design feature for the strap would be what I had on my last Timex. The end of the strap had a little nub that would fit inside a cut out in the retaining collar. THAT is a good design and a nice feature.

I’m writing this review specifically because I want to help anyone who may not be sure exactly how big this watch is and are holding back because of that like I almost did. I’m attaching to pictures that will hopefully illustrate the size difference between this model and another “normal” Timex watch. Hopefully the images will also give you a good idea of how the black face looks as that seems to be an issue with some buyers as well. From the descriptions I wasn’t positive on the size of the watch, but I went ahead and made the leap anyways. And I’m glad I did. At first it seems overly large and that surely it would be cumbersome. That isn’t the case for me at all, in fact not I’m wondering what I was doing with such a small watch before in the first place. I love the size of it and the look / design just feels right. I’m really digging the black face, although others do have a valid point when they say it’s somewhat difficult to read in low light so take that into account. To me it’s not so bad that it makes the watch unusable, it’s just a minor annoyance at certain times.

This watch looks even better in person than in the pictures, and the display is nice and clear too. Love that it fully backlights when you press the button too, it’s bright and clear without being glaring.

    A very good watch overall.

This watch worked wonderfully for 14 months. Then the digital face began blanking out. The warranty is only 12 months…
Same thing happened the previous Timex Expedition I purchased. It lasted a few month past the Warranty period, then died.
Many years a go I had the same Timex for 5 years, and it took a lot of abuse. I wore it showering, swimming, hiking, camping, work. It kept on going till I eventually cracked the face and water seeped in. Now their watches are dying after a few months past warranty, and I’m not nearly as active as I used to be.
I guess the quality control has gone in the trash. No more Timex watches for me, time for a G-Shock.

I absolutely love this watch. I’ve been wearing it with increased frequency since I got it and it’s replaced my gorgeous Seiko Prospex diver as my go-to daily watch.

The only thing I would change would be the duration of the Indiglo light – it could last a couple of seconds longer.

Otherwise, this is a great, cost-effective and (IMHO) stylish digital watch.

I’ve had this watch for one month and so far I really like it. it is as rugged as advertised. I’m usually leery of rubber watch bands, but this one is thick and sturdy. the functionality is intuitive, as with all Timex watches that I have owned. I particularly like that two time zones can be kept in this watch, which is useful for anyone who travels or needs to keep GMT time like me. Pilots and ham radio operators would do well with this watch. be warned that the display is rather dark except in bright light conditions, but that is one of the reasons I chose this watch.this is certainly not a watch that would give away your position due to its glow. I could not be more pleased with this timepiece, and the price is definitely right.

Screen cracked after a few weeks, didn’t even knock it hard. Poor quality. For something that’s supposed to be shock proof it’s pathetic.

I like the look and it is tough. How did they legally put SHOCK on it? Don’t care. I’m not sure this is tougher than my triathlon, which looks just as good. I got the negative LCD which makes it harder to read in dark places (thus the 3 stars), but again, Don’t care – it looks better.

It’s a rugged digital watch that’s water resistant and easy to read. Has 24 hour military time option. The SET button held for a few seconds will let anyone with average IQ set time, date and year. You can also find instructions easily on the web. People who can’t figure any of this out should go back to using a sundial. Thanks.

Nice watch for the price. I read all the complaints about the face being hard to read and I was hesitant to purchase but did anyway. I will say that the face is harder to read if looking directly at it as opposed to reading the time from an angle. Having said that I do not really notice a difference in my ability to tell what time it is. The watch fits well and the band is comfortable. I bought this watch to replace an older timex expedition watch that lasted five years of daily wear in all weather conditions and working environments. The old timex still works but the scratched face was becoming hard to read. I suspect this watch will last just as the others have
