Some of the numbers and direction arrows do not teach letter writing correctly. I used nail polish remover and wrote in the correct prompts before having my child practice on it. However, a couple of the letters do not allow the stylus to flow into the next step without lifting it off the board due to the way the board was cut. The production mistakes are inconvenient for teaching but it is still a great idea for a handwriting tool. Maybe the creator could make a 2.0 version? Update?

Size of a proper small pencil with a small tablet or notepad. Great for little fingers trying to workout how to hold and navigate a regular sized writing tool. The size of this practice alphabet I like for use in the average notebooks. One side is all capital letters the opposite side is all lowercase. It has a very nice weight to it and is not flashy at all. The letters are noticable from far, but just…just. It looks clear and specific up close. With smoothly carved out ABC’s and a little light directions to hint the way to glide along the lines, it makes for a lovely educational gift. We like it!

I wish I had found this a year ago. My 6 year old hates handwriting practice. This is decent and way cheaper than other Montessori writing practice boards. I haven’t had it long and I do think it’s helping him already. Good for kids who see their writing and get frustrated that it doesn’t look the way they want. With the board there’s no mistakes to get upset over and their hand gets the practice.

The product is ok, its not very big. It’s kind of hard to actually trace the letters as some of them are very awkward. Overall good product, bad execution.
Update: They reached out to me about my review. They gave me a partial refund.

I got this for my 3 year old boys. One of them loves it the other not so much. I love it because it allows for them to start letter recognition, tracing and is good for fine motor practice with holding the pencil. The younger of the 2 boys is already starting to trace letter outside of using this practice tablet. Absolutely love!

My son likes this. It has been easy for him to use. He is on the spectrum and this has been a great tool for him to practice writing. I don’t worry about him breaking it. I recommend this product.

It is perfect for travel and fairly lightweight for being wood and its quite sturdy my only problem was that it was so small and thats on me for not looking up measurements I have twin boys that have autism as well as being non verbal and having occupational challenges they needed a bigger board with bigger letters but seeing as were trying to get them to write we are staying on top of them with this one so if you’ve got a kindergartener or soon to be this is good for them to write that will fit into lines

Great piece of wood and educational material. My son’s two and it encourages him in his five motor skills and alphabetical recitation. We use it as intended but also put paper over and run crayons over to reveal letters, spell words, or we use it with play dough as it acts like a mold. The wood finish rejects anything we’ve exposed it to (marker, paint, play dough, crayon, pencil…) but retains it’s beauty, smoothness and shine.

I like the size of the board, it is easy for a child to hold and carry, and a good depth. But the letters have a very poor, rough finish and are not as deep as I would have liked. It’s very easy for the pencil to slip out of the letter and it bumps on the rough wood. Rather disappointed especially for the price. I expected a much smoother finish.

I purchased this for my grandson to practice his writing form. At home his attention span to this product was very short so put them in my car and now this is his ‘go to activity’ while in the car. I wish the wooden writing tool was initially attached to avoid in the ‘melt down tantrums’ when the kiddo dropped it but I was driving and couldn’t get it right away. Eventually some ribbon and a hot glue gun fixed that problem. The product is very durable and I believe it will hold up for a very long time.

Bought for our autisic 4 year old, thinking this would be a great product for him to learn his letters, as other methods aren’t great for him.
The size is perfect for him to hold and draw, also is a brilliant idea for learning muscle memory. CRITICISMS; The letters could be a little deeper or pencil slightly narrower, as our boy easily comes out of each letter, so is unable to follow them properly and the pencil is very lose in the Pencil slot, so does fall out when carried vertically and infuriates him. I’ll glue some felt inside the pencil slot to pack it a little, so this is an easy fix for me personally and I have a Dremel tool, so I’ll sand (sharpen) the pencil.
SIZE; Approximately a centimetre wider and a millimetre or two shorter than an A5 piece of paper and approx a centimetre thick – See pic for size comparison to A5 paper.

It’s sturdy as well a well designed with direction for tracing letters. It can be used for not only tracing letters, but utilizing the visual use of letters in the promotion of speech, encouraging the user to speak out the letters as the item is used to trace letters with the wooden marker, creating the duality in sensation for both writing and speech. A good learning tool !
