Plus facile à manoeuvrer qu’une tondeuse, plus facile à pousser. Assez léger. Ça ne prend pas de place à ranger. Facile d’entretien. Parfait pour une personne âgée.

Even on lowest setting imperfect grass that does not grow strait up will not get cut. I guess solution is still alternate with my old electric lawnmover. For job quickly done without gas or electricity this lawnmower is perfect; if u want perfect manicured lawn electric or gas lawnmover does better job.

I really wanted to do a review on the Earthwise 1715-16EW 7-blade push reel mower because it works so well. I have been mowing this year with the Fiskars 18 inch stay sharp max reel mower, and I have had some problems with it. The way the front wheels are so far in front of the cutting bed with the rear wheels so far behind it can make it an issue when mowing on even a gentle hill; the bed drags on the ground and the mower scalps. I also had a problem with any little debris in the yard catching in the reel and stopping the mower. When I purchased the sharpening kit, the first time I received a kit without a crank handle. Had to go through the return process and finally received the full kit. But then when I went to remove the small gear on the reel shaft, I torqued my allen wrench 90* trying to break loose the set screw before the bolt hole finally stripped out. Don’t know if they loc-tited the screw or if it was installed with an impact wrench at too high a torque setting. I ended up having to drill/tap the opposite end of the shaft for a 10mm bolt so I could attach a nut driver to backlap and resharpen the “non-contact” blades. Overall the Fiskars is not a bad machine, but for the price it has serious drawbacks. This Earthwise 7-blade mower is superior to the Fiskars at less than half the price (I paid $87 for it – was on sale – suh-weet deal). Took me about 10 minutes to attach the handles and set the height for my yard (I mow at 1.5″) and I was out and mowing. The reel turns much faster for the same walking pace than the Fiskars reel and that and the fact that it has 7 blades made mowing today a single-pass effort where previously I would have to pass over the same lane 2x with the Fiskars. The rollers on the back also help keep the Earthwise level when mowing uneven areas as well as far superior when overhanging the landscape edging. Because the cutting bed is centered under the wheels, I do not have any problem with the bed contacting the ground at any location in my yard, which was definitely not the case with the Fiskars.

Time will tell if this mower is long-term reliable, but the reel and the bed look and feel well-made, the handles are sturdy and the 10″ wheels had no problem with slipping (which I was originally a bit worried about).

The only minor gripe I would have is that I would prefer the handles be slightly wider and straight vs angled, but I can rig up something for my comfort very easily (perhaps some bicycle bar-ends or some such thing).

I have a residential yard and it takes me about 30 minutes to push mow. It is not a high level of exertion, just a little push with a walk.

I was worried about this purchase based on other reviews, but I am pleased that I own this mower and also that it works better than the more expensive one I previously purchased. Anyone want to buy my old Fiskars? lol.

I am a seventy two year old man with a 2000 sq. ft. yard(not yet a lawn) that I am transitioning to bermuda grass. Previous owner sometime in past had installed bermuda, but lawn had not been maintained and yard consisted of various weeds and a few sprigs of bermuda here and there last year when we moved in. My goal is to have a carpet-like lawn so I am creating the best environment I can for bermuda which includes, among other things, keeping it at about one inch and mowing at least twice a week. After much research I decided on the Earthwise seven blade mower due to reviews stating the seven blade mowers are best for bermuda and provided the smoothest cut. If I was intending to cut a larger area with taller grass of other varieties I would probably have opted for the Fiskars Stay Sharp, but I felt the Earthwise was a better choice for my needs and it cost about $115 as opposed to $200 for the Fiskars. I used it for the first time yesterday and am very pleased. Having not used a mower of this type in about sixty years I was a little apprehensive. Also, I had read several negative comments such as hard to push, flimsy handle that flexes, handles not wide enough, foam cushions on handles not being sturdy enough, hard to maneuver, doesn’t cut close enough to edges, blades and rollers locking up, noisy, and being hard to adjust mowing height. I found the mower to be as easy to push as a non-self propelled power mower. The handle is sturdy with no flex. The handle grips are plenty wide enough as the mower is easy to turn and maneuver. the foam grips seem as sturdy as any other foam grip I have used. I’ve never had a mower that didn’t require edging with a weed eater and this one is no different. I mowed my yard twice yesterday, first at the factory setting and next at a lower setting and had no lockups of any kind. The noise is not offensive and what I expected – sort of a combination of metallic clicking of blades touching the cutting bar and ‘whooshing’ of spinning blades. As far as adjusting cutting height, it is not as easy as some mowers which only require moving a lever as the bolts on either side of the rollers must be removed and re-tightened. However, no tools are required as the nuts that have to be loosened are large plastic wing nuts that I could easily manipulate even though I have some arthritis in my hands. This is not an issue for me anyway as I will likely leave it at the same setting most the time. Sorry about the long review, but I want to be specific as to what I am using it for and why it works for me. Also, I bought a sharpening kit with the mower, but after reading the manual it said with normal use and maintenance the blade will not need to be sharpened for several years. At my age needing to sharpen might not be an issue.

This is my second year of using my excellent Earthwise 16″ reel mower, and I’m loving it. I can mow very early in the morning, while it’s nice and cool, without disturbing neighbors with noise. I even mowed recently with light frost on the lawn, and the blades cut through it all like a champ. I’m a 66-year-old woman, 5’3,” 110 pounds, but I can easily push this mower. It gives me a nice, light, whole-body workout, and takes only 15-20 minutes to mow my small, level front lawn. Do it fast if you want aerobics, slow if you like to take it easy. It is quite exhilarating but doesn’t wear me out. No fumes, no noise, no fuel to buy. No interruptions from running out of fuel. I chose the 16″ model for its lighter weight. Super easy to assemble – just bolt the handle together, attach to the mower, and you’re good to go!

Lieferung Top! Zusammenbauen in ca 20min erledigt, sehr einfach…. Top….. Übersetzung beim Schieben Top, man merkt ihn kaum….sehr Leichtgang…..

The bagger pictured is separately sold by Amazon. I only paid like 25 or 30 bucks for that. It works very well with it.

This 16” 7 Blade Reel cuts a lot better than I expected. I was a little skeptical since I hadn’t used a manual reel before, but this is very lightweight and easy to push. The faster you go the cleaner cut you get out of it. A little harder in tight spaces to get enough momentum going, but still doable.

The stripes is the part I was most impressed by. How there is a gap between the two rollers, I thought maybe it would show up in the stripe but it does not. For how lightweight the rollers are it looks very nice!

This is a good buy for anyone considering getting into reel mowing not quite ready to commit to spending thousands on a powered version or for someone needing a backup for when their powered reel is being serviced!
