When we received the Birdfy we weren’t sure what to expect but definitely didn’t think we’d have this much fun spying on birds as they fed. With a view of our backyard we can catch any of the many birds that visit and never get a chance to see as they stop by for a snack.
The camera was very easy to assemble after reading through the instructions and I love that you don’t have to drill into anything to have it be stable and steady – you can strap it to a tree, or to a post like we did.
Super easy to fill and re-fill by tipping the top forward and has a very sturdy construction that hasn’t succumbed to the weather.
I look forward to lots of time spent with the family checking out the birds as they come by our cafe for a bite now and then.

Have this feeder as a multi use camera. Have it all the way in the back of the property. Sometimes the signal is iffy but does catch out there which is amazing. I use this camera to feed birds and also to watch my chickens at the same time. Wonderful camera in my opinion for both bird watching and security if you choose to use it for those purposes. The battery life is actually still in the high 90’s % after a week and a half of use. I am truly a fan of netvue products and price for quality is the major reason I’ve stayed using this brand for several years now. You have the option of having monitoring through subscriptions or use for live mode or the use of a SD card for free. Truly an amazing product and always excited to check their cameras.

I’m very happy with this bird feeder, it has a lot of great features that I’ve really enjoyed. Overall the setup was very easy. I had the camera linked to my phone, the software updated, and all the pieces put together in about 25 minutes. The picture quality is really good and it’s a very nice looking feeder as well. I love the motion detection alerts and as I have it on a tree facing towards my front door it’s functional as a security camera as well so I can see when I get package deliveries, who’s at my door, etc. I also find setting the hours for sleep mode to be a great function for saving battery life. So far I’ve not had any major issues the only small thing I wish was a little better is that the lock that holds the feeder onto the brace can be a bit tricky, but overall I’d highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be able to see their birds while they’re not outside or to get a more up close view of your birds.

I have had this feeder for a little over a week now, and I can say that is a very cool yard feature for the bird enthusiast! It was a pleasure to see a variety of birds up-close in their natural habitat. Being able to save pictures and videos of our favorites was fun for our whole family.
Assembly of the product was straight-forward and easy to follow. Construction of the house, camera, etc. is extremely good. One evening we were visited by two possums simultaneously, as shown in one of the photos. I was worried that the weight of the two possums would cause damage to the unit, but it did a great job withstanding this event.
We have been viewing the feeder camera many times a day, and look forward to seeing what new kinds of birds and animals that we will see. My only recommendation for product improvement, would be a version of the same unit with some type of squirrel/possum deterrent; perhaps a smaller exit for the food, in order to keep the food safe for birds. Other users may not have this problem, as our yard is constantly visited by squirrels, possums, raccoons, deer, etc. Overall, this is a great product and is sure to please any nature lover on your list! Thank you NETVUE for making such of an awesome product!

Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do. The clarity of the camera is excellent, and the optics are great. I like that the lens doesn’t fisheye like some security-type cameras do. The setup was simple, even if it required some “translation,” as the instructions were clearly written for a security camera and not a bird camera. And that is a recurring thing as you play with this camera – it feels like a security camera with a bird label on it.
For instance, there is no way (that I found, anyway) to remove the timestamp from the video. Nor any way to change the framerate. The videos seem choppy to me, but when I emailed the company, they said my camera needed to be closer to the router. It was only 50 feet or so away, which was a reason I went with the solar option. But my biggest frustration was that apparently, it only records 10 seconds of video at a time without a subscription, even if you have an sd card installed.
When I emailed the company, they said this was because it was solar-powered, and the shorter clips were to save the battery. I got a subscription, which now gives me a whopping 20 seconds of video. That is plenty of time if you are on a security camera, but I want to actually record my birds and watch them later, not just identify who shows up.
The solar feature works perfectly, and I have no power issues. The solar panel is in sun for about half the day but powers the camera fine. No complaints there at all.
In short, if you just want a camera to see who shows up to your bird feeder in a place that doesn’t have good power options, then this is perfect for you. If things like video frame rates, aesthetics, and being able to watch the birds play for more than 10 seconds are important to you, then this probably isn’t the best choice.
I gave it 4 stars because the camera works fine – it just isn’t, I don’t think, the best match for bird lovers, which is who it was marketed to.
