This suitcases are fantastic, and I still can’t believe what a bargain they are (I bought this set a few months ago when it was $85.00). I ordered them for a last minute trip, got them in two days, and figured even if they only lasted for one trip, they were so inexpensive, I didn’t care. To my great surprise, they don’t have a mark on them and performed perfectly on my trip. They were better than my previous, expensive big-name luggage. And they are so cute! I’m probably too old for this design, but so many people complimented them and asked where I bought them, so I think they’re good for the young and the young-at-heart.

This was well worth the money. My partner bought this for me as a surprise last year for my europe trip, and I have to admit I was really nervous that the plastic was not going to hold up. After being on a couple of planes and thrown around, it holds up just fine. Bonus–apparently it is also waterproof. I was unfortunately part of the AirBerlin mass luggage mix-up situation last summer and they were leaving found luggage outside, sometimes unprotected from the pouring rain. My suitcase was totally fine, while others were soaked. It was also easy to spot and describe after the airline lost it. I’m so glad I had this suitcase, rather than my old plain one.

This is not 100% polycarbonite and literally the first time I used it, one of the wheels completely broke off and took the corner of the bag with it. Airline took responsibility and is replacing with another bag of better quality, but SO very disappointed. They explained to me in order to have the patterns/such it cannot be fully polycarbonite and therefore not near as sturdy. I loved the owl pattern but now I will have a solid red, blah! The fun pattern was a large factor in purchasing this product, but as they explained to me, “how many good luggage brand makers do you see with fancy/fun patterns? You don’t because if you do, the bag is not fully polycarbonite.” Just something to give you to think about when making your purchase of luggage.

I ordered this luggage for two reasons: 1) it was an excellent price and 2) I love owls lol Rockland is a good company and the price for this 2 piece set was unbelievable so I just had to order it (the price tags on the spinner luggage said $220 for the 28″ and $120 for the 22″!) So this entire set was cheaper then just one piece at retail!!! A great buy!
As I was eagerly waiting for my luggage to arrive I saw that it was being returned because it was damaged in transit…so I contacted customer support via Amazon and explained the situation (thru text)! The “person” named Belle said if I wanted them to send another set out they would immediately at no charge to me as this damage was not my fault! I said yes and they even upped it to 2 days shipping at no additional charge and in 3 days on the 5th (4th of July was Tuesday and theres no mail on the 4th in America) it arrived at my door! I just love it! It’s roomy and solid and in great condition…and light weight! I can’t wait for vacation 2017 in less then 2 months!!! Bring on the summer fun in sun!!!

Update: I went round trip to MB SC Dublin Ireland and LA CA since I’ve bought this luggage and No problems! They are still in great shape minus the scuffs from the airport but wheels and zippers all in working order! Very satisfied customwe

My previous Rockland suitcase lasted several years with lots of use – I fly at least once a month for work – so I went with them again. Originally I was unsure about getting a hard-sided suitcase because sometimes I shop and need to cram extra things in. This style really surprised me with how much room it offers and how well it flexes for squishing when I’ve been over indulgent. This Departures design is super cute – get lots of compliments – and makes it very easy to pick out my suitcase at baggage claim. The wheels on this one are sooooooooo much nicer than my previous Rockland – they have kicked it up a notch. Rolls like a dream – I can spin it in circles, which makes me giggle for some reason. The quality is fabulous – it’s easy to roll on all four wheels or tilted.
I’ve started taking more 2 day trips for work and have tried to become a carry-on instead of checked bag person. The little one is crazy perfect!!! It looks so small, but it holds so much and easily fits in the overhead. I can fit up to 3 days of business attire in one side and all my shoes/toiletries in the zip up side. Before I got this I tried a bag that is like a fold-over hanging bag on wheels. It cost almost as much as both of these bags together. It doesn’t hold as much as the Rockland and it’s so wide that I can’t roll it down the aisle of the plane when I carry on. This little Rockland rolls down the aisle like a dream so I can carry my Starbucks and get to my seat without a problem.
My only small complaint is that when I first got them they had a strong plastic/rubber smell. I left them open and put in a few scented dryer sheets for a few days and the smell went away. I have a very sensitive nose so it might not bother you – just make sure you open the box and air them out before your first trip.
I’ve used both of them a few times now and can’t be happier!!! Totally recommend.

I just used this luggage this week and the handle no longer retracts all the way up so I am very upset using this luggage for the first time and it is now broken. This luggage looks very nice but breaks easily..

Loved this case and my daughter adored it – HOWEVER on its first trip it broke – the handle would not retract leaving us in a difficult situation on an international flight with no way to stow thepiece of luggage onboard safely.
My daughter was broken hearted when I had to return the case (this part was easy and uncomplicated). She wants an identical replacement case but I’m apprehensive especially considering the other reviews with similar problems

Looks like the photo and great for local trips- not sure if it can handle international flight abuse. Perfect for what I’ll use it for… extensive travel get a stronger bag.
