I upgraded from a Surface Pro 3 to the Surface Book 3, and well, so far I haven’t felt much difference. Also, the UAG Case and the screen protectors available for this model are underwhelming to say the least, with more drawbacks than even the ones made for the decade old Surface Pro 3. I have had a decent experience but I’m not at the point where I’d recommend you to make the same upgrade.

The Surface Book 3 is just the right size for traveling when I don’t want to take my larger laptop. It also allows syncing with my Galaxy S20 Ultra, so I can see everything on a bigger screen.
I am glad I got the hard-sided one for sure especially for its durability. I may have picked a larger memory had I thought about it more, but the cloud where my pictures and documents are stored seems to take the load for now

Tired of being tied down to my desk top to do invoices and accounting through the desktop version of my accounting software, I decided to buy the Surface Book to allow me the versatility of working where I want. My Wife owns one and i liked its features enough to purchase my own. Touchscreen capable and disconnecting to use as a tablet are awesome. Battery life seems very good. I now operate in a cloud based software and love the ability to be mobile. Great solid manufacture.

This is the second time I’ve bought this laptop, first one was the first time they released the surface book. I love this laptop very much. It’s portable, I got a case that makes me a lot less worried to take it with me on the go, and of course the whole screen thing is great. It over performs most laptops I’ve used, and all laptops with the capabilities it has. The only issue I’m having is my touchscreen keeps just not working randomly. I’ve talked multiple times with Microsoft, it’s been happening since the day I got it, and Microsoft said an update would fix it but I keep having to call them back. Not great but the customer service is. It is annoying the pen comes separate and now I bought a $140 pen for the touch screen to not want to work.

I have been using Surface products for 7 years and would not buy another product. I like the Surface Book 3 however I have two complaints: 1) the computer has to be turned on in order to release the screen, 2) the micro SD card is in the keyboard part of the computer and not in the tablet portion, which means that if you have all your info stored on the SD card and release the tablet portion, you can’t access your files; you have to copy them to “computer”.

Having a terrible experience with this computer. After 2 weeks I was carrying it and it just cracked (due to the hinge if you grab it from the front the screen will crack). 6 month’s later the battery just stopped working. Wish I had gotten an apple instead. Best Buy will not back up the product and neither will Microsoft. Just left out in the cold.

Its definitely unique and very interesting but for the money, its just not enough.
-No thunderbolt
-Almost 4 lbs
-Less than 4 hours of battery in tablet mode (real life)
-Weird gap when closed gives it a larger than normal form factor
-bezels around screen are large for 2020.
I would seriously recommend a lenovo yoga c940, hp scpecture x360, or dell xps 13. All of these are 2 in 1 laptops that are cheaper and outperform the surface book 3.
Microsoft needs to revamp the surface book for it to be a serious competitor. This is the same physical form factor since 2015.

Great purchase for our college student. Best of both worlds laptop/tablet. Best feature removal of screen for tablet use with stylus to take notes in class. Works well with all the college programs. Streams video well. Speakers are just ok.
