5tb is more than enough space. Xbox series X has a fast SSD but there’s nothing like huge storage for the rest of the games. Also you can download it locally on to the external drive and then copy it over to the ssd4 a series X enhanced games. It’s just worth it in a good addition for plenty of space for plenty of games. Definitely would buy again!

This drive works great with the Xbox Series S. It’s completely plug and play. It comes with codes for two months of Game Pass which stack with your current membership. Note that you can only run previous generation games directly from this drive. Anything current gen will need to be copied over to the Xbox’s internal storage to run.

Easy to manage and install, especially if you have worked with consoles and computers before. Basically a must have due to the current game sizes and the usage of space required. ( should be part of the console, but its not, its an add on $$ ).

Fast fast fast and great space! Plus the exterior is tough and good looking piece of equipment.
Always been a western digital fan very good products. Be nice if consoles came with bigger drives like this.

works as advertised and super easy to use. i was even able to load all my games go to my brothers house on vacation and use my account and games without having to take the time to download it to his console.

I needed an external drive for my PS4. Several web sites suggested the WD black. I liked it becasue unlike some other external drives, the WD black does not require a separate power supply/cable.
The Xbox logo’ed drive works great, even if attached to a PS4 🙂 )
Downside is you are not supposed t connect through a hub, so it takes 1 of my 2 USB ports…not an issue unless you run your controller wired on long play sessions and are using a USB headset…
Anyway, the drive is fine. Quiet and fast.
Finding the drive in the store, however, is another story.
The plain, un logo’ed WD drive (multiple capacities) is in the laptop/computer section of the store, which is where I started.
Shelf spot was there, but empty; sold out.
(At this point, I had no idea these were also promo logo’ed for specific game systems)
Thought I was out of luck, but I decided to meander through the game section (opposite side of the store). In the PS4 area, more external drives. found a shelf slot for the 5TB WD black. Sold out.
Checked the xbox area, found this drive.
Its just odd that the same product is in 3 separate locations in the store, with nothing indicating hey, there might be more of these over in xxx area.

Solid hard drive with good enough access speeds for writing and reading my digital games on Xbox One X. Keep in mind that while the top is black, the sides are white in case you wanted something more color coordinated with the console. Usually wouldn’t go with a specifically braded drive since any USB drive works but with it coming with extra time for Xbox Game Pass and with it costing the same as similar external drives, it was worth it.
