Now with remote learning, my older laptop couldn’t keep up with the workload. This one is amazing! It is thin, super fast, love the vibrant purple color. I honestly can not find one bad thing about this notebook. The Webcam is amazing. Its a superb machine.

Though I have been using iPad for years the gateway product is nice. I struggled a bit for a while to learn how to set up and operate the notebook Because I have never used a laptop with no mouse and I still catch myself touching the screen though this is not a touchscreen this is a good solid device. It’s an Affordable product and 14.1 inch screen is clean and provides a good picture lots of battery saver features. I would recommend this to friends who wanted a good laptop especially if they have used a device that is not touchscreen.

I like this Gateway Notebook. It has a 14 inch screen;yet, the data and resolution is perfect and I’m able to see everything on the screen. I love that the keyboard has nice size lettering and numbers. I don’t have to squint to see them. The notebook is not heavy at all. However, it is very sturdy. The notebook hasthe fingerprint technology which is very nice for security. I opt to use the pin login for now. It has a nice camera too. I’m sure I will have this notebook for many years.

While you certainly can find a more beefy computer with more memory and speed you certainly cant find one with more features at the price point this computer is offered.

While 4GB of RAM is slow (however it does have an Intel Corei3 processor) and struggles with very demanding photo and CADD processes it should be more than adequate for the average internet researcher, word processing, email and all social media platforms as well as video driven programs such as skype.

The built in fingerprint sensor is nearly invisible in the upper left hand side of the touchpad.

Its use is optional and may be used in place of a password or pin to log in.

This Gateway is easy to connect to many non Bluetooth peripherals with its HDMI connection port and easily connects all your Bluetooth devices with Bluetooth 5.1

THX powers the audio by Harmon and delivers a reasonably nice level of sound for music, podcasts and some of the non demanding gaming programs that are assisted by the Nvidia GEFORCE GTX graphic card. (but its not an overclocked gaming computer by any means).

The 14.1” LCD IPS Display, (1920 x 1080) is crisp and clear with excellent resolution.

I have encountered only one issue with this computer and that was that somehow the touchpad got toggled off and I lost all mouse functions through the touchpad.

It was and easy fix that I handled by hooking up a wireless mouse and toggling the touchpad back on in settings.

I recommend doing all windows updates as soon as possible after receiving the computer to insure you have the latest software and driver files.

You will get a lot of features for not a lot of bucks and makes an excellent introductory laptop, or even just a new laptop in general for a non demanding user.

I have been testing the gateway notebook out, and so far I love all the options, and capabilities you get with it. It has a fingerprint scanner on it that is way more secure than just having a password to open and use your laptop. It runs smooth, and uses microsoft 10 system. I love the color, I like that it has the black keys with white so it’s a lot easier to see because the colors don’t clash. The battery life is amazing, I full charged it and it’s still charged after 2 days of constant use! The notebook has been used for for kids online schooling and also used for some work at home. it has microsoft office which is great for work and school! I recommend this product for those parents doing virtual learning, work from home, and personal use!! I received this product for my honest review.

After my previous HP laptop was beginning to show signs of wear in its battery life and performance, I was excited to test the functionality of this Gateway laptop. From a first glance, I immediately liked the look and style of the laptop, and the size of the Gateway notebook is perfect to watch a movie or video but still fits easily into a backpack or travel bag. The components of the laptop are all very functional, and the touchpad’s fingerprint scanner allows for easier and safer login. While the scroll function of the touchpad was faulty at first, this was resolved after a few hours of use. The USB inserts are cleverly placed to get out of the way of a USB mouse or other external hardware, and I appreciate the USB-C option of this computer. It is worth noting that this laptop only has a micro-SD card slot (as opposed to the normal SD card size), so this may make it more difficult to transfer photos from a traditional camera. The Intel Core i3 processor is sufficient for most tasks (browsing the web, creating and editing documents, watching videos), but the computer’s performance seems to lag slightly when a large number of tabs or windows are running. When the computer is working harder, the fan gets audibly loud, but the sound of the fan is minimal when only a few programs are open. As per usual, the use of Windows 10 makes for a streamlined experience, but I found it very important to disable the Windows 10 “S Mode” in order to download apps like Google Chrome or iTunes. Also, the laptop comes with a few pre-installed shortcuts (including Forge of Empires, Kidomi, THX), and these shortcuts may prove helpful if you are interested in those programs. All in all, this is a great laptop for school or travel, as its slim size, low cost, functional outputs, and streamlined browsing experience allow for easy use and transfer.

I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and it’s a great and affordable laptop.

I work in the technology field and am used to high powered business Lenovo’s and Hp’s but this gateway is at a great price point and great for regular use.

It’s lightweight, love the color options , fingerprint reader, 4GB of ram, camera and the SSD hard drive is also a big plus and runs significantly faster. This laptop has it all.

The Screen is a good size at 14.1 inches & has great color & resolution.

It didn’t have MS Office but I was able to install it free due to my company having an enterprise license (some companies offer that for free so check that out).

It also has cortana which I hadn’t used before and its a really cool feature since it’s a voice-enabled virtual assistant and can help with coordinating stuff like calendars and lists- just ask away!

Has 1 use-C, hdmi, 2 usb , SD card connections.

Gateway has been around a long time and did a great job with this laptop.

Pros: Lightweight, no more than 4 pounds. Setup was an absolute breeze, literally in about 10 minutes. Cortana came on and began speaking and walked through the entire process. All we needed was an internet connection. We put in the internet password, and my 9 year old did most of the setup by simply following her instructions … I only had to add guidance for a few small things. There is no microsoft office. This came with a one-month free trial of Microsoft 365, but i didn’t want it. In all honesty, Google Docs does everything I ever need a word processor/spreadsheet for, so I won’t be needing office for this laptop. Keys are quiet … no silent but not clickey. Machine is snappy and fast … I am guessing equivalent to chromebook? Startup is 10 seconds from the moment I pressed “power” to the moment the sign-in screen was gone through. I love the fingerprint sign-in on the mouse. The USB ports are kind of tight, and the one on the right I had a hard time putting a few things in, but I’d rather them be tight than loose. The keys are nice and easy to depress. Not “quiet” keys … in a quiet room, they are a little clickey. I also am not a gentle typer. They aren’t loud, either, however, like older keyboards where it sounds like a soundbite in a movie. For the first day of use, the right shift key had a “crunchy” sound and sensation when depressed, but it’s fine now. The bluetooth connection was surprisingly great … I’ve never had a good bluetooth connection on a laptop. This one connected to my earbuds perfectly well, and I walked into other rooms, and it held connection just as well as my cell phone. I REALLY love that little feature. The battery was GREAT. I didn’t have to charge it until the 3rd day of use, and that included watching a couple of hours of videos, and using it for school work, etc. During that time, I only shut it down a couple of times … otherwise I just closed the lid and kept it in standby to test the battery while in standby mode. I was extremely impressed!

Cons: keyboard is a little different, the keys feel possibly cheap, maybe because it’s made of lightweight material to keep the whole machine light. The keyboard is slightly different … I’m used to a keyboard with a number pad on the right hand side, so when i’m speed-typing, I sometimes miss the backspace key and the shift key on the right side. The keys are a slightly different size too (smaller) for the backspace and shift key because of where the direction arrow pad is located. The left shift key feels crunchy when pressed and occasionally doesn’t work I less I make sure my pinky is directly center of the key.

Observations: the screen is not a touch screen (no big deal, as I don’t like fingerprints on my screen). It doesn’t bend backward into tablet mode (which I like, because that just freaks me out). The THX makes a big deal out of supposedly having excellent sound coming out of the speakers. Although the sound is clear and loud for a tiny laptop, it’s not excellent like you’d get from a bluetooth speaker or something because it still has that tinny laptop sound.

Overall, I absolutely love this little thing. It’s so fast and quality!

Right out of the box it was an easy setup (long but easy). Very lightweight, great for carrying in backpack. The display, 14″, small but looks great, very portable. The hard drive is quite small, a portable hard drive would make for a great add-on.

I found the mouse pad to be finicky. Some parts of the pad were “sluggish” and at times unresponsive. The left mouse button would sometimes not respond. I would suggest a wireless mouse for better control. The addition of the fingerprint reader is great, saves a lot of time on log-ins and better security

All-in-all the laptop runs well, is fast and would make a great pc for the high-school or college student. Lightweight, great sound, stylish, small footprint

This laptop is EVERYTHING that I was looking for…and at the right price. And I’m super-satisfied with my purple cutie. It was easy to set up, connects to the internet fast and I haven’t had any issues with it. When I thought I did, it turned out to a WiFi issue with my internet providers modem/router instead. Anyway, the Gateway representative that I spoke to (Thomas C) in technical support was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and professional! A rare find these days. I would recommend this laptop to anyone in need of a cost efficient, user-friendly laptop that can get the essential job done!
